    This video was THE game changer I have had 30 pro lessons since I began playing 9 months ago my swing always felt awkward even though I was hitting far my left arm was bent at the top and never consistent. It was the stance!!! I did exactly what you said and WOW! My swing is so easy and natural. Thank you thank you!

    Been playing golf for 10 years, also been coming over the top for 10 years. I've spent thousands of dollars with golf "teachers" (Golf Tec) and not one can stop my slice. I hate slicing, want to quit every day. This morning I came across your you tube videos and watched every one I could find of yours about slicing. I then went out this afternoon to try it out - pull from the left side, etc. I never hit the ball so good, no slicing, easy to come from the inside, btw, also no fats or thins, more power and right on target! I'm joining your online training on your website, just wanted to write this to say thank you, you're awesome.

    Great, vid Chuck! Lots of people swing with the arms and "forget" rotation. But this happens also when they have their weight on the right foot or equally distributed at setting. Especially with the driver I see a lot of collapsing arms....

    Great video, reverse pivot has been a big problem for me in the past. Can I just ask what approx percentage of weight you would feel on your right side at address, or is it more of a shift from a 50/50 position? Cheers!

    Hi Chuck, Thanks for these videos during this difficult time. I understand why you say big body turn very small arm swing, but you then say you can get in trouble if you turn your hips too much. Can you clarify? I see instructors like Shawn Clement, Mike Malaska and many more promoting a full hip turn by just allowing them to turn fully to eliminate tension in the body and increase power/speed when working the kinetic chain from the ground up during the BS and DS. Thanks

    So, I basically need to turn around the axis of my right leg, without swaying my upper body away from the ball? Then, before I start my downswing, I should be leaning my weight into my left side, then turn around the axis of my left leg to my finish? Any thoughts???

      supercooloz13 I know Tom. He and I did an adams golf commercial together back in the day. I was the swing coach that had to get 20 different hack golfers to look like they swing like Tom so they could morph us all into one swing that ends with Tom in the follow through. I was also in the commercial, light khakis and a black shirt. Anyway Tom is truly an amazing human being, one of the nicest I’ve met and a phenomenal ball striker but copying his move - well there’s a lot of moving parts in there that would be very difficult to get a student to do. There’s a reason no one else’s swing looks like Tom! But more and more younger players come up now looking the same for a good reason. Rotaryswing Teachers like me understand biomechanics in such a way that we can make your swing not only simpler, more consistent and easy on the body that there’s no reason to try and copy a pro who spent thousands of hours to groove a complex move.

    Been seeking a cure for my bent left arm for years because my arms are naturally bent. Think ape, hence my username. Nobody, and I mean not a single instructor ever got to the reason immediately like you just did! Like so many other commenters mentioned we've been lied to for years about 60/40 weight on the left side. Immediately after watching this I went to the range and now I have a draw. Thank you again, Chuck. I owe you a beer. No, a case. on further thought, a keg!

    I have persistent "tennis elbow" from an Army injury. I experience some discomfort at top of swing, but try my best to keep that arm straight. This year, I'm working more on my hip movement / turn and not letting my arms out race my hips. Stinks getting older! :)

    I found that "let" is important, like "let" your left arm bend if it wants to. Curtis Strange, Lorena Ochoa, both "let" their left arm bend. The trick is don't try to do anything with the right or left arm after they bend. Bring that whole "assembly" such as it is, down and through the ball with a natural release of the bent elbows and of course the wrists. Ochoa when asked about that terrible bend in her left elbow replied that it gives her extra leverage through the release. You let the elbows release just as you let the wrists release. Of course at address you want to keep the left arm straight for measurement to the ball. Just sayin".

    What an awesome video, fantastic visual at 6:50 when you come back to the camera to show what little bit the arms move. I’ve got a question about from that exact point your showing the camera at 6:50 of the video. Would it help to shallow the club if I thought about or had a ‘feel’ of moving my right elbow inwards or towards the ball just a bit ? I’ve had problems staying on plane (tend to go over the top like Couples) just way too much arms across and bad hand positioning. Which your videos have helped massively. What do you think about the elbow question? It seems to help me a bit but not sure if it leads to other problems

    • @Rotaryswing
      @Rotaryswing  4 роки тому +1
