Holy crap, I never played ResQ enough to see those 3D levels... pretty amazing that it looks almost as good as Star Fox but without any extra hardware... man, that Genny was a beast!
I've done that sunglasses trick before! It actually works on a lot of stuff. It only works when things are moving because the tinted lens causes a slight delay in the light getting to your eye, and your brain takes the difference between two frames of animation and extrapolates a 3D effect, but that's why it has to be moving.
Tim Follin really did get the Megadrive's sound hardware to do things it should never have been able to do in Time Trax. I don't think he's ever written a bad track. His work on the C64 was consistently fantastic, and he did the (excellent) soundtrack for one of my favourite SNES games ever: Plok.
This is the best retro games show out there. I really enjoyed this episode along with the homebrew episode. For someone that has already seen most retro games covered here and elsewhere it's nice to have episodes full of stuff that I never even knew existed.
Clearly these game makers somehow knew how awesome Game Sack would be. They figured that the only way to get featured with their average games is by cancelling them. It looks like they succeeded.

The Dreamcast port was cancelled around June 2001, 5 months after Sega discontinued the console. It was just too late. And, if the game was released the way it is now, the awful schizophrenic framerate would have cemented the Dreamcast as being outdated next to the PS2. Good thing it wasn't going to be released in this state... I hope.

Speaking of Unreleased games like Thrill Kill, it would be interesting if you guys covered the old skool games that pushed the envelope on "suitable imagery".
An interesting unreleased game for me is the version of Super Star Wars for DOS. A company from somewhere in Denmark got permission from Lucasarts to make a version of SSW from scratch for the PC and it looked amazing! Unfortunately, after a management change, Lucasarts told them that they had changed their minds, right when the game was almost finished too! The last beta before planned release is floating around on the internet somewhere, and is pretty fun to play! There are some issues though, like the inability to pause the game as escape just brings you back to the main menu, and it doesn't seem like they included a saving system either, so you play until your done or too tired to go on.

Fido Dido was popular here in Holland in the early 90's. 7-Up released a lot of different collectible cans with him. Up to the point that lots of kids made drawings of the character. He made a return a few years ago but it's not as it used to be.
The unreleased game people rave about as a 'should have been' is Legions of the Undead for the Atari Jaguar. Developed by Rebellion and using the same engine as Alien v Predator the game looked to be excellent, but the console was already doomed. The ultimate unreleased game to own and I do, is Half Life on the Dreamcast. An amazing version of the game but has problematic saving taking up a vast amount of blocks due to it being unreleased. Owned the PS2 version and played the hell out of it. It did not include Blue Shift, but had a co-op campaign which followed the story, but from two other perspectives. I don't think it looked as good as the DreamCast version shown here.
Don't know if it's been mentioned - but the Mr.Nutz prototype on the Megadrive was actually a port of the original Amiga version that came out previously. The released SNES and Megadrive versions that managed to get into the shops were vastly different!
Game Sack www.nintendoplayer.com/unreleased/steven-seagal-is-the-final-option/ Scroll down to the "Out For Justice" section. Steve Wik, a game artist, admitted that a look-a-like artist was used. It was a good choice for your "unlreased games" feature. Keep making videos!
My buddy worked at Epcot in the mid 90s. I played Fido Dido at the SEGA booth, where they showed off new Genesis and 32X games -- it was like an E3 pavilion all year round. I even played the Nights preview AND Kolibri there.

I'm not fucking joking...
I know, it was on some Vinesauce stream of crap bootlegs.
I actually played Half-Life on the Dreamcast, but it might be some kind of bootleg pirate version, in Russia we had a lot of stuff like that back then
Damn, HL on Dreamcast looked really good!
Owned the PS2 version and played the hell out of it. It did not include Blue Shift, but had a co-op campaign which followed the story, but from two other perspectives. I don't think it looked as good as the DreamCast version shown here.
GamesDiddley did you not pay attention to the video?? The Dreamcast version also used a keyboard and mouse.
Don't know if it's been mentioned - but the Mr.Nutz prototype on the Megadrive was actually a port of the original Amiga version that came out previously.
The released SNES and Megadrive versions that managed to get into the shops were vastly different!
Steven Seagal was not involved with that game. They lied and there is an article about it.
Can you point us to the article?

Scroll down to the "Out For Justice" section. Steve Wik, a game artist, admitted that a look-a-like artist was used. Wik also went on to say that Seagal likely had no involvement with the game and just sold his likeness to them. It always strikes my funny bone to know just how phony this game is. It was a good choice for your "unlreased games" feature.
Keep making videos!
@@DigiEggz I doubt they actually got permission from Steven Segal to even make it.
My buddy worked at Epcot in the mid 90s. I played Fido Dido at the SEGA booth, where they showed off new Genesis and 32X games -- it was like an E3 pavilion all year round. I even played the Nights preview AND Kolibri there.
Do you still listen to Fugazi? Please say yes.
On occasion yes I do. :)
Imagine, a Steven Seagal game that looks "Horrendous" and plays "Slow"! Sounds like they nailed it! Looks like the only "Final Solution" they could make was to cancel it. Lol
So, I know it says it in the description.. but WHY no star fox 2? :p It's like the mother of all betas!
Like it says in the description... we don't have it!
I'd love to see you review it.. so hopefully you'll get it some time soon? :)
Anyway love your videos! Very entertaining to watch!
Thank you for another pack of great tips to find out and try.
'It's for kids' is not an excuse to make or buy a shitty game.
I love this episode. I did not know a lot of these games.
