Got my 2020 BRZ manual in Pearl White w/ the Performance Package and with the crackle red aluminum intake manifold and red Brembos it really looks trick out of the factory. I find it has the perfect amount of power to help you not get hurt or arrested considering this thing handles like its on rails around corners and is a pretty much a street legal go kart that makes anyone feel like Mario Andretti. Won't win any drag races, but that doesn't require any skill at all, just a large bank account. Love my BRZ. The poor man's Porsche Cayman.

Great review! I didn’t even know this car existed! Good job covering all the points.

You'd probably get better steering response with the bigger wheels and the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. I think the tires you have on the version you tested is part of why you ended up feeling you needed more steering response. Yes! a very refreshing car without all those useless and obnoxious "nanny" stuff that cars have today!

The last comment could not be more wrong if you tried! "If drifting isn't your thing out of the box, then this is for you". You literally can not buy a better new car "out of the box" for drifting 😃

I have the same car except mine is the 2018 50th Anniversary car. Wonder if the wheels are forged...probably not.

I have a 2020 BRZ tS. It would be a near PERFECT for me production car without that mysterious torque dip. I wish the seats were harder, lighter, and that it offered the possibility to seat even lower... Maybe a few more weight savings such as a carbon fiber drive shaft. Still a dream car that comes alive on the windy, curvy country roads. Handles much better than an array of more expensive sports cars. But that torque dip is a true mystery!!!!!! No need for turbo - the naturally aspirated immediate throttle response is what makes the foot on the accelerator pedal be part of the foot motions that control the car's behavior instantly (eg use the accelerator as a traction control instrument, even better switching OFF all the assistance or taking out the fuse to those assistance stuff). Very hard to find these days a better, simple, well balanced car than this one. The new generation 2.4 L engine is very wise to also be naturally aspirated in order to achieve that immediate control by accelerating/decelerating or even tapping so as to have immediate communication between one's brain and the tire rubber and the road surface.
