I love Etsy, but here in Germany, people don’t use these platforms. There was a local one , called DaWanda, but it went belly up about 3 years ago… somehow this concept is not working in Central Europe. The UK , Scotland and Ireland are great though, but the shipping costs are way too expensive to make it interesting for customers. As for Amazon Handmade…same thing. When I ask people about this section , they mostly have no clue. I believe Shopify is the only way to go here, and linking that to a social media presence, is the way to get noticed. Facebook seems to have taken a bit of a dive here, so TikTok and Instagram will be the way to go.
Excellent suggestions! The “feeding off friends and family’s encouragements” is a BIG ONE !!! People will tell you what they think you want to hear - regardless of whether or not your product or plan is good or crap - learned this one the hard way….
