I'll never forget my encounter with Jako many years ago. I was fresh out of college and on my first job. I thought I was set to live my dream, but I ended up working in a dungeon, wiping dust off old video tapes. Jako was working on a coffee table book that time and he needed help finding archives of a show so he frequented our dept. He was unexpectedly kind and humble in an industry where people thought ranks and money were important. He treated everyone with respect and kindness--even those whose job was wiping off dust off video tapes. Haha Congrats, Jako! People like you deserve all the good things in the world.

Whew, I don't know how to describe how I feel about your tribute to Jako. It's a heartwarming statement and eloquently describe how he affect your life.
Now, I remember & tbh, I was teary eyed because in one of Lenten Presentation of Eat Bulaga ( I can't remember the title but message really marks on me)
Joey De Leon had that character there that he was lending and adopting people who has chaotic life into his house. Kempee De Leon was also his blooded son on that short film. Kempee was in his teenage rebellious life. He is not living with his father, he is bz with his own thing. He just go back home when he needed something from his father. And always surprise seeing different people around their house. One day, he ask his father why he keep on helping and sheltering those people which he think do no good to his father for they are problematic people. So Joey answered him: (this is not exactly the word but the essence) " Tinutulungan ko sila kasi naliligaw sila at nanganagilangan ng tulong. Sa araw araw ang panalangin ko, naway may magbibigay din ng silong at tulong sa naliligaw kong anak."
Joey De Leon's creativity, brilliant mind and kindness goes down to his children & Jako shows it. And to Jako's motto " We rise from lifting others" is amazing.
