I'm 68 but I only raced there once. I think it was about '80,long after this race! You could see the track as you drove past it from Hwy. 67. It was very close to 67 & if you were going South you got a real good view of the starting line on your left! Driving a semi I drove past it many times,often they'd be racing when the weather was nice. Some good memories. ❤😎
they came to Huntsville Bama in 68 or 9 and raced at the old airport with the dragsters ..i dont remember aa whole lot as i was just 13 at the time .. but maybe that is what fueled a lifetime of love for all things loud and fast ..
I'm guessing that Competition Plus looked long and hard to find a better print of the original film, but this beat-up old print is the best they could do. But still, it's a great slice of the life that professional match racers lived 50 years ago. I have a friend that match-raced jet cars, and he has a never-ending supply of stories from the strip and on the road.
