I loved how your faces flushed red when Eivor was about halfway in the song & the synths merged with her more tribal singing. I could tell it really hit you.❤
I've heard this song many times & it always gives me shivers. But what l enjoyed throughout this reaction was watching the wonder and awe on Ginger's face. ❤
She is a dam fine guitar player as well! Playing that rythym so perfectly and singing that slightly different rythym is awesome. And the tone of the guitar is superb.
So glad you liked that one. I am proud to live in the same country as Eivor. Watching her live streams was really one of the only positive thing during the first lockdown last year. This Falling free live version is probably the most over the top performance of hers you are going to find, but I also recommend the acoustic versions of Rain and Surrender.
Danni, since you live there, how is Eivør's name pronounced? I hear it pronounced as Eye-vor. Is that correct, or is the first syllable sounded like "a" as in "say" or "pray"?
@@WhiteTiger333 Well, I am danish, not faroese. She lives in Denmark but is from the Faroe Islands. That being said, the way I pronounce it is pretty much like this: forvo.com/word/eiv%C3%B8r_p%C3%A1lsd%C3%B3ttir/
That song is wonderful enough. That performance, though - wah! I loved that the homie audience stood in respectful silence and just took it in, only breaking the magic after the last note.
This song, and her song called Gullspunnin have me in tears every time I hear them. EVERY TIME. They're absolute musical, emotional, artistic perfection, so beautiful, so expressive, so raw and powerful.. You guys should do a reaction to her new song Gullspunnin. It's stunning.
Greatest vocalist of all time. Famous Blue Raincoat is the cover. That's how I discovered Eivor as it is one of my favorite covers. AURORA also covers it.
YES ! My favourite song of Eivor ! I'm getting goosebump, after goosebump, after goosebump... when hearing this ! Her voice is just KILLING it... especially in the high notes at the end... unbelievable ! Thank you so much for reacting to this masterpiece ! Anothjer beautiful song of Eivor is "Monster"... just her and a kalimba, no other sounds, whatsoever. Maybe you can react to that Eivor song next ? But I'm still curious about your next Aurora reacton and about your next Mylene Farmer reaction... take care ! Greetings from Germany to Canada : Gerry
Wow ! What a great song & performance. In this song, Eivør comes across as a mix between two of the most interesting current female goth rock singers Chelsea Wolfe and Anna von Hausswolff, which is absolutely amazing. I need to listen more to Eivør. Great reaction and an excellent pick! 👍
Thanx:) this I s actually quite synergistic, as I was just about to get my sister a ticket to one of her concerts in the fall, as a birthday present:) Off course I´ll be there with her. BTW Trødlabundin and Falling Free are both great, and very differen!.
When a live version beats the studio version! Although this is already a really nice version, you have to listen to the version she played at the harpa concert hall on her Christmas show which was a livestream for 9 € last Christmas!
Such a beautiful song. This makes me want to recommend a couple of songs from Scandinavian artists, that I'm pretty sure you would enjoy. Susanne Sundfør - White Foxes (I know you've reacted to her before) Röyksopp - Running to the Sea (featuring Susanne Sundfør) Anna von Hausswolff - The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra Anna von Hausswolff - Come wander with me/Deliverance
I don't know if you already listened to it but if not, a strong suggestion for a next reaction to her is 'Salt (Live performance at the train warehouse) - Juke Train 218 '. You will love it, too. Cheers !
So glad you did this one, G. I recommended it a few weeks ago and I knew you would love it. This is the kind of song you have to listen to eyes closed, headphones on, totally relaxed, the volume high enough not to harm the ears, almost deafening and let it build up. Goosebumps from the beginning till the end. The only part I don't like as much is the ending, it should have faded out, not with the 'jamming' on the guitar, it puts the mood a little bit of.
❤❤❤ If you didn't already, listen to the whole soundtrack of "The last kingdom". She did all of the songs. And if you didn't watch it, you should do it for sure! Because it's one of the best series out there! ;-)
I heard it when it first came out and here is one you will love of hers called “ May it be” from Lord of the ring” a live large audience with full orchestra and the Queen of Denmark ( in the upper balcony and I won’t spoil the ending what the Queen does. ). Al
Eivør from the outdoor concert in western Norway feat. the band Vamp w/their song "Tir n'a Noir" (again inspired by Irish folk): ua-cam.com/video/97HQ1U-uGaU/v-deo.html Apparently the crowd was there for a Vamp concert, explains the full band set up on stage, and they had Eivør with them to contribute on (at least) Tir n'a Noir + the solo guest performance, guess that's why the crowd looked as "spellbound" as many of us from her performance In this song Vamp sings in 🇧🇻 while Eivør sings her parts in 🇫🇴 The concert was also sent in its entirety on NRK (Norwegian public broadcaster)
This song always gives me goose bumps, it's just beautiful. I have some suggestions for you, in case you still don't know. Here we go: Dead Can Dance, the song is called Black Opium; from the duo Elsiane, I love Vaporous and Mend (to fix, to repair). I think you will love it.
Torshavn is the capital the Faroe Islands. The Faroe Islands has about 50,000 people in total. Amazing that she’s so brilliant from a very small place. Torshavn loosely translated means Thor’s Harbor in Faroese.
The song was ok here but her absolutely beautiful voice is what really pops for me. Very angelic and penetrating...and a live performance to boot. Thx for playing this one and reacting :)
I've now seen every reaction video of this song. The women react as they should-- it's soul-searing. The men smile, they may say, "omg", but no emotion nor tears. I think that's a problem.
Pssst...hey. Another awesome live song...when you get the oppurtunity, check out Jeff Buckley What will you say live Glastonbury! Have a awesome one! /Mikael
I wish Eivor was on every radio staton, why is this not on??? Really? She's just as talented as Adele, maybe moreso--- she has a better range and can play guitar.
I loved how your faces flushed red when Eivor was about halfway in the song & the synths merged with her more tribal singing. I could tell it really hit you.❤
She truly is amazing - her voice goes right through your soul.
It really does ❤️ - G

Not only one of the greatest voices currently around but also an outstanding musician.
Absolutely confirmed by herself. She's great!
I love her voice! I feel I can fly ... happy ... spellbound ... 🥰💗
The 1st time I heard this, my mind went to the description of the otherworldly singing of the elves in Lothlorien as written by Tolkien!
So true. In my mind, If Eivor had wings she'd be an Angel
@@paulahrendt1766 Merry Christmas!

This magical woman has just reached into my soul and stroked it - for the 6th time this afternoon! Can't get over this.

Nice to see your reactions to our Norse/Scandinavian culture and music. It's a dream world like no other...

This one is something special.
It's a 'this is how its done' sort of video...
One of my favorite songs!
Love Eivor!
watching both of you enjoying the music synced makes me smile :)
She is definetly one of the best. This whole concert is absolutely fantastic. Great reaction btw. Seems like Ginger enjoyed it:) I do too.
Ooh yess. I was hoping you would hear this performance. It is unreal.
Take care of Mike, if he is falling free, he will be landing hard! Do that fantastic thing, stay lojal and be proud! Love youguys!

Absolute Goddess.
As I have written elsewhere, there's a Nordic plan for a second Viking-quest, spearheaded by our Valkyriens; Eivør, Angelina and Aurora. Be warned:)
they can take over...no resistance here.
And Kalandra...
She does insane jumps in her voice in the live version of Boxes in 2012
