I know you wrote this song for Paige Godard and it hit home for Hannah Laursen here in Utah as well. Two very brave and special girls. I wanted you to know that I lost both of my parents last year within 3 months of each other. It was a terrible thing to go through but I drew a lot of inspiration from this song and it helped to keep my chin up a bit. It just breeds hope and I needed hope. Thank you, brother.

This had tears streaming down my face. Put me right back to my brother's funeral and how much it hurt to say goodbye. But the love coming from the other side is what did it for me. I know he was there loving on us. I've been a fan for years. How have I not heard this before? Such a moving song.

Thank you for this gem! You know, JR, I had to deal with the loss of my beloved grandmom, who I used to call mother, in november of 2009. This song hits me so hard untill today, I can barely listen to it without shed a tear. Same year, the month in the lyrics... It's a masterpiece and I think it's all about the beauty of music: to bring together all kind of emotions, to make connections that the composer or the perfomer can't barely figure out! Keep on going with your incredible art, sometimes I try to cover some of your songs in my vocal classes! Hope you come to Brasil to perform, it would be pure gold! Cheers!

Lost my brother in the month of November only a few days before Thanksgiving. I wish this song had been played at his funeral. Took me over a year to get over it and now tears are rolling down my face. - I am a grown man, what does that tell you about this song ? -"It was a beautiful end to a beautiful life November said goodbye rest angel rest"

TY JR, My Brother, Robert, was an alcoholic. We had different fathers but I still considered him my Full Brother instead of half brother.
He was 10 years older than me. He was a drunk but he was still the coolest dude in my eyes. He did get sober for a few years before his heart blew out. He could have done many great things if not for his disease. In his brief time of sobriety he became the CEO of an Alcohol & Drug Rehab Hospital.
When he was in college, he would skip the first month of classes/ and most of the classes afterward. He wouldn't buy the textbooks but would goto the university library and cram for the midterms and finals, before hitting the bars downtown of course. And he would pass the exams. He was a journalism major and the editor of the university newspaper also. He did this while working a full-time job as an aircraft electrician... when he showed up for work that is lol. I somewhat followed in his footsteps to my detriment or maybe not, w/ the exception of college majors. Life has been an adventure for me so far, the good and bad.

Songs written from the heart are so special and when I took time out to read the lyrics it ripped my heart out. So sorry for the loss of the beautiful brave young lady it was written for, I read about her tragic and miraculous life. I lost my first born in November 2012, she was just 24. By the time I'd finished reading the lyrics and playing the song again I was in tears and like another commenter says 'there should be millions of views' for this. Thank you J. R. genius.

Much as I used to miss the old Dishwalla you've made some really moving music since then - and I'd kindly suggest with even more layers (though Candleburn always haunts me - Opaline is one of my desert island CDs). If you had any idea how many times I covered Counting Blue Cars and Give back in my pre-CA days in the 90s in Chicago you'd demand royalties. ;) Damn, I've been listening to your music for 20 years.
