Every single tool you picked up I like, I saw the V block on the table and told myself John better pick that up lol. The two hammers are great, and the the Mercedes wrench is a classic. Good hunting Sir.
Toolaholic I believe would fit the bill for the situation, and I’m here to tell you, you are in good company, just sayin, there are a number of them on You Tube, and I watch a number of them. Thanks for the tour of the show, found it interesting. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching a fellow toolaholic in action.
Hard to pass up any of those items. I understand. Love the Mercedes wrench. I recently made my first batch of 50-50 mineral oil and vasoline and with my luck I knocked it over and did not notice it so most of it poured over my workbench onto the floor. Making another batch now😂
The Mercedes Benz wrench is very nice. Last Saturday I left a v block at the flea market because I did not know what it was. Maybe she will still have it this Saturday. At 6:12 you left behind a license plate that read RD KING. Great video. Thank you.
John, I didn't have a good time Friday. *harumph!* When you met up with me the second time I had been there for at least 2 hours and I was still in that first freakin' row! lol The guy at the end was the end for me I think. I hit that $1 table hard (20 items) and I got some stuff off the $5 table. Then I paid up for a few things. Two Stanley spoke shaves (a No. 52 and a No. 151R) AND that Stanley #700 vise. I was going to go back Sunday because I didn't actually go around the entire place, but I would have bought more stuff! My name is George and I have a problem. Tools-my drug of choice. lol
Good tip on repairing the dings on the wrench. I used that same technique repairing aluminum molds at my work. I would place a brass scraper flat against the damaged area and then strike it with a hammer. I would then polish the area. My company put a lot of trust in me as these molds cost between $150, 000 and $200, 000. Each .
I have the same wrench but it’s the size of your finger it’s tiny nice to see the larger ones great steel amazing show John god bless take care 🇺🇸🇳🇿🦅👼⚒️🗡️47
Joe- there was a time when Axes were selling HOT but now I can’t remember the last time seeing someone buying one. It’s funny how popularity goes up and down in certain regions. 😃👍
The reason it’s harder to kick the tool habit is because it not illegal. At least that’s what I tell myself. Anyway another great video. Thank you for your time and knowledge.
Ah!! I'm kicking myself now! I was planning on going, but didn't. First 5 seconds of the CAMA footage revealed the 1 last (yeah, right) tool I've given myself permission to buy. I love what you did to the screw driver handles and that wrench is very cool!
Thanks for taking us around the tool show. Nice job on the screwdriver handles too. When I seen your balls of steel 🤣 I thought about the comedy movie Head Office (1985 - Eddie Albert, Judge Reinhold). The Mercedes Benz wrench is cool. Now, I have to get a bronze hammer. Picked up another good tip on fixing those little deformations. Thank you and seeya Wednesday.
Hi John. Love those tool shows. I think I wouldn't be able to contain myself at one of those shows. So many interesting things to look at. 😮.great video. 👍👍❤🤠...
There is no way you can walk past $1 or $2 items! Out of curiosity, I see your videos now have two to three commercials. Do you pick the commercials or does UA-cam? Great video.
Lots of very cool scores there, Scout, and I'm looking forward to seeing any of them restored to new. I'm at the age where I shouldn't be buying any more stuff, but, like you, I can't seem to totally break the "acquisition addiction." Working on it though, lol. Thanks for another great video!
Paint Covered Craftsman Screwdriver: Try one of the Top O Towels on that paint covered Craftsman screwdriver handle. I had success using the Top O Towels to remove paint from a screwdriver that I had.
Good video, John. Im sorry I missed you. I had a great time and some good, inexpensive pick-ups myself. As a junk alcoholic I certainly get my fix at shows like CAMA.😂
Thanks John, it was great to accompany you round the show, there was a lot of nice stuff there, I.particularly liked the large mallet/maul sometimes referred to as a Beetle ! Great lathe work on those screwdivers, I cnn imagine how much that improves the feel of the screwdriver in use ! I have the Starrett scriber you showed with the reversible point, but I don't know what that sharpened hook was for ? I have a small drill just like that one, it's in a tote I made along with a set of other small tools for the children to use - gotta start 'em young !
I keep telling myself the same thing... "I'm done buying general tools, look for the odd or unusual tool." Then, I come home with a literal trunk full of antique, and American made tools. 😄
Sometimes you just can't leave a decent buy on a good tool go. Each of the tools you bought were great. So happy you didn't leave the V block. Very good grab! That was a really cool idea about modifying the screwdrivers. I would mind see each of the tools finished. More information about the strobe would be welcome. Great show. Thanks very much! 👍
I will sit back and watch you fix them all up. That level and grade finder at 3:13 is spectacular and the price reflects it. You went by all of that rope and didn't buy? Wow amazing control.
My name is mike and I am a recovering tool addick, its been 12 weeks since my last purchase. ScoutCrafter it looks like you went on a bender, You may need a detox.
Liked the cupping of the little Craftsman screwdrivers on the lathe. Would like to see the hammers cleaned up. I have a large assortment of claw hammers but must admit the little guys, like that Estwing 12 ouncer are my favorite users. Good video John.
Hey buddy, the Mercedes Benz wrench is actually a classic English design: Lucas Girder! I think they had quite a few of parts for them made in Germany to meet demands. This one appears to be made by the German company Steinadler. I do see them occasionally. I really enjoyed the show footage, that you!
Great episode! I love the mods on the screwdrivers and the footage of the show. The Mercedes wrench was definitely very interesting. Thanks again and see you Wednesday.
Hey John, I knew as soon as I saw it I knew that you were going to grab that V-block. I would of grabber it too. Good idea on turning the end of the screw driver down. I know what I'm going to be doing soon. Later
For not buying tools anymore you better bring a bigger tool bag with you for no more tool buying tool you come across…Kent very nice place …going back soon…hopefully…🖖
I’ve been looking at houses in Connecticut. I am absolutely floored! For what I pay in San Francisco, I could have an estate on multiple acres. Not to mention the access to tools on the East that you just don’t have out here.
You found some good stuff John. Just throw everything in a box and grab and that’s what I want to see restored first. Thank You for videoing the show and sharing it with us.
Hi scout, a few days ago I came across a channel called “Ken Hawley collection trust” the older videos on the channel you might find interesting , one about auger making from 4 years ago is good ( why old tools cost so much compared to now ) . Great show as always. Thanks !
The screwdriver modification and lathe walk-through were on point. I am very interested in procuring a lathe for the job, it is such a useful tool, yet the variation in size and cost is daunting.
Plumb were always high quality and their heads stayed tight. They were the official supplier for the Boy Scouts so we all loved them. Now they are becoming more and more collectible. 😃👍
Last year I went out West to see my brother. He had a bunch of tools in a back shed that my grandfather had collected. I found an old double bit Plumb in that stash. My brother could not understand why I was so elated... 😂
(6:31), Hello, my name is JIm and I am a Toolaholic.
Looking forward to the strobe video
Estwing hammer restoration next please, I have an old one that's all rounded and in some state.
I really like the Craftsman screwdrivers with the pocket clip, very handy. That dimple is handy, also. Beautiful wrench and repair.
Every single tool you picked up I like, I saw the V block on the table and told myself John better pick that up lol. The two hammers are great, and the the Mercedes wrench is a classic. Good hunting Sir.

WC FIelds used large ball bearings in his cocktails because lce would water down his drink
He didn't like water because of what fish do in it.

Can't have enough tools. What a pleasure to build or repair when you have the proper equipment.🇺🇲
John your not buying tools you are preserving the past like the Smithsonian . Keep up the good work .
That's a big slick at 2:53. I need to buy some rope I think. Love to see that egg beater done.
For a guy that quite buying tools you got a pretty nice assortment of tools.
Interesting stuff! Thanks for taking us along!
Looks like you had good weather for the show! I like the Craftsman screwdriver handle mod!👍
What an interesting wrench - never seen one like that before. I want to see the stroboscope restoration.
Great show and some good picks 👍

Good video. An addiction to tools is not a bad thing. I picked up an old Bolens tractor today. Zagray is next weekend. Good Luck, Rick
I have the same wrench but it’s the size of your finger it’s tiny nice to see the larger ones great steel amazing show John god bless take care 🇺🇸🇳🇿🦅👼⚒️🗡️47
Nice MB wrench!
YES! Those concave dimples were Fantastic!
Huge mistake for taking them out of their design...
WOW... The prices on some of those antique tools... a large portion of my paycheck would vanish in minutes. Full size axe-heads for five bucks, c'mon.
Joe- there was a time when Axes were selling HOT but now I can’t remember the last time seeing someone buying one. It’s funny how popularity goes up and down in certain regions. 😃👍

Great tool haul. I don't believe I would ever stop buying tools. My Mom always said surround yourself with the things you love. Great show John

always on time with the goods every time, thxs for sharing...
Hey, great, John, after all these years, you finally bought a hammer (or two)... 😏
How could you pass up that timber framer peg mallet? How? Seriously, it was a cool variety, even some model trains. Thanks for bringing us along.

Another great show John, as a knife enthusiast I fully understand your addiction , I call it "feeding the beast". Thanks for sharing.

John, after you straighten out the screwdriver tip, would it be good to heat treat the tip a little?
Gotcha boom
Being a Tooloholic does not take years off your life as other forms of addiction. So enjoy your hobby!

Thanks for the video - great stuff! Would love to see both of those hammers you got done up nicely.

No medication for the tool addiction! 😂😊😂😊😂😊😂
Always enjoy the stroll! Thanks
I thought you might pick up the v block John.
"geometric logic" Bogart.
Probably strawberries and keys.
Envious of the scissors!

Bill- buying a lathe is so hard because they are pricy new and old ones can be worn or in rough shape. It’s daunting at best! 😂👍
All that work to set up those great displays…..and so sparsely attended!
Friday’s are always light but Saturday’s are booming! 😃👍
BOOM 😂😂😂😂👍🏻👍🏻
@@michaelstark9485 hello where was you Friday looser 👍👍🤣🤣😂😂weiting for Wednesday 👍👍🔩🔩🤣🤣😂😂lol lmao👍👍
John I remember back in 1957 Plumb was the go to hatchets 🪓 for scouting
Plumb were always high quality and their heads stayed tight. They were the official supplier for the Boy Scouts so we all loved them. Now they are becoming more and more collectible. 😃👍
