TNA had some real momentum in 2005-2006. I don't know what went wrong. Christian, and then Angle defected from the WWE. Samoa Joe was running rampant. Joe vs AJ vs Christopher Daniels from 2005 is still one of my favorite matches.
I'm not going to place all the blame on vince Russo but after he came back in 06 you really start to see tna venturing into sports entertainment and over the top gimmick matches and storylines
Here are things that went wrong in TNA: 1. Dixie Carter 2. Hiring Bischoff and Hogan 3. Jarrett overbooked himself as the champion 4. Former WWEs over TNA homegrown talents 5. AJ Styles losing "worth" 6. Losing promotions and TV deals (from losing Spike TV deals to Pop TV)
I remember 2008/2009 feeling like the company was finally where it needed to be, an entire group of friends and I watched it exclusively over wwe at that point. Miss those days
I was a Prodigy customer! That famous joint venture that combined everything Sears knew about computer technology with everything IBM knew about retailing.
I'm DEFINITELY interested in how Impact emerged from the ashes of TNA! I remember things got really chaotic when some of my favorite stars started leaving: Kurt Angle left his boots in the ring; Taryn Terrell vanished; MVP and Bobby Lashley followed, etc.! I eventually stopped watching! Channel surfing one day and getting into the cool, gang like feud between Konnan, LAX and another team led to my 3 week return before the show itself seemed to vanish! Wha' happened after that? How did IMPACT survive, who's running things and how did they become involved with AEW? I gotta know!
I think I can remember TNA hitting British TV for the first time in 2005. After I got fed up with WWE after WrestleMania 21 TNA was a breath of fresh air at the time especially the Knockouts Matches which showed me for the first time what Women’s Wrestling could be which I think many sometimes forget about the original Western Women’s Wrestling Evolution was in TNA before WWE
Carter's dad got controlling shares in the company for a quarter million dollars. I thought it would be worth a little more than that. Thank you for making these videos. Im glad others love pro wrestling like i do.
Having just found this channel, I'd absolutely be interested in seeing a Part 2 on this about Impact Wrestling. While it's not as big as it used to be, Impact has been putting out a great product these past couple of years, including during the pandemic period.
I thought TNA’s PPV with the highest buyrate was Lockdown 2008, which also featured Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe in the main event. Not their first match at Genesis 2006, but I could be mistaken.
Great work again Dave . I miss chatting on the livestream with you all ! I actually ordered every one of those weekly TNA NWA PPVs they did before they got TV . And I enjoyed TNA for the most part (dumb shit aside ) until Hogan came in . I said the same thing about WCW ! lol ! But tell me im wrong ? Both companies went to Hell when Hogan came in . Except later with the NWO in WCW . But Dangerous Alliance era was awesome ! And TNA was decent too with the X division and more . Then Hulk .....
Well as I pointed out in the video Hogan drew Impacts highest watched segment on their highest rated show. WCW improved in ratings too when Hogan showed up. I understand people don't like him but he does provide a value whether his detractors want to admit it or not
Interesting when TNA moved to Monday night Spike would rerun it on Thursday I would just wait until Thursday to watch it Glad when it moved back to just Thursday as I liked both shows
I lay the blame at Russo, Jarrett, Carter, Hogan and Bischoff's feet. Pushing way pass their prime talent , attitude era shit storylines, keeping younger talent down , not firing Russo and costing them their spike tv deal and more than that
Dave, do make sure when it comes to how TNA lost spiketv, don't push the false narrative about spike and Vince Russo. Angelina love on a podcast spoke openly about how Dixie wanted double from spike during the renewal, and played hardball till spike gave up and walked away. This aligned with a spiketv exec who stated Dixie made the renewal difficul and spike pulled out. Also, Dixie in an article at the time wanted a network that would be dedicated to help tna grow, aka give them more money. Problem is when I post a link, whether a UA-cam or news article for evidence youtube prevents me from posting the comment, so I can't give you links
it's a shame what happened to them. followed the same footsteps as wcw. not putting over there day ones and younger guys to bring in all ex wwe guys who are now superstars in wwe currently. aew almost went down this path but luckily someone got in there ear. stay away from hogan bischoff and russo.
Yes do a part 2. DAVE because Impact Wrestling is still in business.

Sorry sir but Vince Russo was able to draw 2 million viewers for TNA.
So don't blame all on Russo, you mark!
@@josecarlosramolete6109 actually read my comment I didn't solely blame him. I blamed him and others but 🤷🏿♂️
Looking forward to a Part 2. Your presentation on these history of videos are articulate, insightful & witty.
Thank you so much for saying so
@Dave Knows Wrestling u really hate impact wrestling don't you ???😂😂😂 what a shame buddy
@@TheRealdealbay weird comment to make
Fun fact: TNA lasted longer than WCW(if you don't count NWA/WCW)
True
Love it when dave does these types of videos
Same

Nice! An Impact video would b nice. It's just that viewership has been horrible since 2017.
"Dave Knows T N A"!!
Great series. Eager for the next parts to be released.
Great video Dave I hope enough people give a thumbs up to convince you to do "the history of impact wrestling'
Well thank you and guess we will just have to wait and see
Loved Eric Young in TNA
2017 TNA was my introduction to Angel Garza
I watched TNA when Raven was there use to like watching it every week before 2011 happened
Everyone craps on the hogan/bishcoff years that said from about October 2011-october of 2012 week to week the show was actually really good
You've already taken us this far... Might as well wrap it up with the Impact information.
I can't believe impact survive

The history of TNA part 2: Electric Boogaloo would be nice as there was never enough dancing in professional wrestling imho.
This video calls for a part 2, also do you plan to detail any of the perceived mistakes that lead to their current state?
I've actually been thinking about making videos highlighting what I think are a companies biggest mistakes and doing it for multiple promotions
@@DaveKnowsWrestling that could be some looong videos, but they would be awesome
It would just be what I perceive to be the biggest mistakes... not all of them. I'd be here all day
To be fair though Impact Wrestling is slowly getting better i did enjoy the Sami callihan vs Eddie Edwards rivalry that was fun
Having just found this channel, I'd absolutely be interested in seeing a Part 2 on this about Impact Wrestling. While it's not as big as it used to be, Impact has been putting out a great product these past couple of years, including during the pandemic period.
I eagerly await part 2
Yes please! The history of iMPACT wrestling!
Fun fact: TNA getting cancelled by FSN is what introduced me to torrenting.
Yes sir Mr. Dave do a part 2 I quite enjoy your videos.
Quality video as always Dave, look forward to the part 2 if you decide to do so
thanks dave i m excited for part 2
Yes I want a part 2 on impact
Thank For The Rise and Fall Video 💞💗👍😍

Lockdown 2008 is third
I loved Christian’s time in TNA. Shame he doesn’t seem to care much about it.
NWA-TNA to TNA to Impact to GFW to Impact to TNA to NWA-TNA. Yes the circle will be complete when the NWA and TNA merge to once again become NWA-TNA
Damn I can clearly remember it all how it got big and then slowly started to fall
The Golden Age of TNA was 2004 - 2008.
Joseph Park Esq
Good update Dave....yes, do part 2 please 🙂
I think I'd watch part 2
Bring on a part 2
Hope you do a part 2
DO IT.

Please give us that impact video
I HATED tna since the first tv show i saw on TNN
I was like 11
And i knew back then it was cringe BUT
marky d's videos made me see the good in tna
The real alternative
Nope.
@christophermarriott1681 then which wrestling company is the real alternative to WWE?
I lay the blame at Russo, Jarrett, Carter, Hogan and Bischoff's feet. Pushing way pass their prime talent , attitude era shit storylines, keeping younger talent down , not firing Russo and costing them their spike tv deal and more than that
Eric B.S Bischoff, Hogan and the Nasty Boys is nauseating
NWA-TNA is 1,000 better than that Nauseating WWE.
Facts!
NWA tna wasn't even TNAs peak
@@Twister-V1 also facts!

I didn't push any narrative. I simply said they were not renewed
3:02 that is kinda weird
Panda Energy started TNA... WWF made them change their name to WWE.... the panda's have it out for Vince McMahon.

I care.
Then once NJPW happened looked back to be honest
DIXIE CARTER. 😂😂.. Although, give TNA credit, there still going, granted they have 7 viewers, but still. AND YES, PART DEUX IS NEEDED...
2009 was the start when tna was going downhill.
