the fact that stilgar is in most of these
He was stylistically designed to be that way.
@@mar10ssj1 funny way to say that he is a comic relief
@@romerogames3746 my way sounds more profound. As written.
He’s comedy spice
And Feyd is none of them
Stilgar was the TRUE main character all along.
He's like a cheerleader, getting Paul's morale boost and hyping him in the fremen community so that everybody puts as much trust in him as he does. Lisan al Gaib !
@@user-zg3gh8xg9v Lisan al Gaib !
@@user-zg3gh8xg9v Lisan al Gaib!
SILENCE!!!!
The real main character was the Stilgar we met along the way.
The part where stilgar is saying paul is to humble to admit he is the messiah, all I can think of is the life of Brian.
It's so on the nose, it _has_ to be a reference to Life of Brian.
@@CognizantCheddar or we are not that original
@@mrei8464 I'm wondering if you know what that expression "on the nose" means, in this context.
@@CognizantCheddar I do. I'm just saying we all think alike, so it's possible the similarity is coincidence
@@mrei8464 What my comment is saying is that the scene is _so_ similar, it seems unlikely to be a coincidence. That is to say, the notion it's just coincidence has been considered.
"Smile Gurney"
"I am smiling" >:(
gold scene

Polish smile
Bardem's rushed "Lisan al Gaib!" delivery gets me every time. Mfw prophesied messiah is revealed as conqueror but I forgot to turn the stove off before I left the house.
why does everyone in YT comments talk some like soft handed pretentious drama school dweeb
I love when youtubers use the rushed "Lisan al Gaib" like Heavy Spoilers. I too crack up every time. It like "Oh shit, it's my line... LISAN AL-GAIB!"
2:24
xD
I wonder wether that was one of those outtakes that made it into a movie instead of whatever the script originally said.
1:09 I love how Paul goes 'Actually.. 🤓' on a fremen about their culture XD
After all that has gone through, he still has some of his inner bookworm energy intact.
Also VERY much a teenage boy energy. Watching one visual novel and believing himself to be an expert. Lol
Stilgar talks with his buddies about how humble the lisan al gaib is.. but let's not forget that those buddies of him are old and experienced enough to take down 2 sardukar each
Watching him made me forget that he can 1v1 Gurney and possibly kill Paul. Dude is goofy all the time.
@@chuchu5946 right, and yet he didn't because of his spiritual views.
You missed the funniest scene, when Stilgar talks about how big centipedes are harmless, but not the "little ones" (and it turns out they are huge). Also when Paul thinks he sees Jamis, and it's Chani telling him he walks like a drunk lizard.
Yeah, I feel like a lot of people missed what Stilgar was doing with his hands when he describes "the little ones."
"Not the little ones" (is holding up his hands about a foot and a half apart)
pauls visions were always a bit messy, and I think he mistakenly thought he saw jamis in his visions, when in reality it might have been chani
but that's up to the show writer to make that up, but what is consistant is that he sees visions with characters that later turn out to be different people
@@unowno123 its a mishmash of stuff but jamis portrayed both Jessica and Chani when Paul would see him in Part One, so yea u rite
@@CrabSpu how
0:48 The theater was rolling with laughter in this scene. Feels like something off Life of Brian 😂
I AM NOT THE MESSIAH!
I regret seeing this movie in Korea. No one laughs at the movies here 😭
@@Kanoa_Stibbard Chani: “He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy.”
@@Kanoa_Stibbard I say that you are, and I should know! I followed a few!
Life of Brian references Dune.
Stilgar, when Paul calls in the worm: "...Not THAT Big !!!"
Stilgar is that one best friend who never sees anything wrong with you, even if you are weird af. He is the real hypeman
It was sad seeing him turn from father figure/friend into a fanatic and worshipper. He is a really fun character.
I laughed out loud during "antropologist said" scene. C'mon Paul, really? 🤣😅
He really said 🤓☝🏻
Loved this scene, helped elevate the movie from a white saviour trope
AkShUaLlY 🤓... lol
I love the way the humor feels realistic and "tame", as opposed to most modern movies
No snappy quip but also not comical/ cartoonish
yes agree modern n ancient
Yeah - the fucking Marvel curse.
Arrakis is a desert planet, filled with shenanigans.
Arrakis? Let's not go there. T'is a funny place.
Chani: "if our son was a worm would you still love him?"
i mean he did become one in later books.....
@@maulikjain48 That’s the joke
@@AlvesRuben yeah ik lol
i lost it in the theater when Gurney yanked Chani)))
It doesn't look like much but that's how comedy done right. Not too much, not too little. Just enough.
Everybody talking about Stilgar but Gurney’s funny scenes are very underrated
You completely change the vibes 😂
Paul: I’m not the Mahdi
Stilgar later: The Mahdi is too humble to say he is the Mahdi. Even more reason to believe he is.
Stilgar is the freaking best.
Straight out of Monty Python and the Life of Brian!
The Lisan Al-Gaib would deny being the Lisan Al-Gaib according to the prophecy... so, it's just one more trigger that Paul is fulfilling on his way to becoming the Lisan Al-Gaib which is does once he reaches apotheosis by becoming a Kwistaz Haderach. The Bene Gesserit manufactured the Lisan Al-Gaib prophecy thousands of years ago like they did indivifually across the whole million worlds of the Imperium specifically for the Kwistaz Haderach they were trying to birth... Paul is the literal god that's been prophecized to come and his only source for his eventual abject failure is the denial of that godhood. I mean how dumb do you have to be to think that single world regardless of how great of fighters they are would be able to burn half the galaxy down by themselves... absolute numbers dictates who wins and loses.
I wasn't the only one who laughed at how Chani was giving a reality check and suddenly sat down by the old man Gurney 😂😂😂
"Reality check"??? Paul IS the Lisan Al-Gaib because he is a Kwistaz Haderach... he has reached apotheosis into being a literal god more powerful than any god in the whole worlds history of gods pantheons. She's the delusional one denying the god standing in front of her
Stilgar was the soul of this movie!
0:48 is the funniest one for me. I love his silly face!
My favorite was with the centepides. Stilgar warns Paul about centepides: "Not the big ones, these are harmless. Watch out for the small ones!" - and with his hands he shows the size he means, about 2 feet.
I'm so glad that they added more humor to the film, the book also has some humor but not to this level 😅
The book was funnier.
@@cwc5085 Nah
@@karabokhanyilethen he turned into human worm form and became tyrant. IMAO.
@@karabokhanyile The third act had a four year old smack talking the Baron and the Emperor.
That scenario is instantly funnier than anything in this movie.
@@cwc5085 funniest shit I have ever read
While Stilgar was funny, his fanatisism is concerning.
Spoiler:
Stilgar later regrets his earlier fanaticism.
@@CognizantCheddar
After or before the holy war got out of hand?
@@raulbetancourt5795 You don't even have to say "Holy War got out of hand." The first two words are worrying enough
it's the fuckign point of the books
@@raccoons_stole_my_account
I'm aware
If Stilgar asks Paul what's the most he's ever lost in a coin toss...
"So you married into Fremen ... theres no other way of putting it Fren-do"
as a native spanish speaker I cant help but hear "Ay Carajo" here. 0:43
I thought I was the only one who thought this too! Could've sworn he said that when I first watched the movie too
Proof that you CAN include humor in an overall serious epic movie, without falling into generic MCU forced jokes.
“Muad’dib means kangaroo mouse.. an unusual war name for a fremen” and “what are you guys laughing about?” “don’t bother” had me giggling in the theatre 🤣
I like how Stilgar in the first movie was sort of serious and now in Part 2 he's just LISANALGAIB
"Our conversation ran short." was the funniest line in the first movie.
I love how Duncan says 'hold' so casually, like this is the most standard shit to happen.
The discussion about « family warheads » was quite funny.
The way it's barely 2 mins is so tragic 😭
it is perfect, this is not a comedy.
I'm glad its not mcu
@@IwinMahWay well you mean not like Joss Whedon levels of awful of humor.
@@MrJulesR986 kinda
@@IwinMahWay MCU can be serious if the writers are writing it well.
The most funny moment according to me was at the end when Paul fights Feyd-Rautha, and it’s extremely close. The Fremen doubt that Paul will win until he does, and then Stilgar immediately flips and says “LISAN AL-GAIB” and the rest join in. So funny to see them go extremely quickly from losing faith in Paul to gaining it right back.
Zendaya: "Hey Muad'dib! Call a big one!"
Paul: *calls "a big one"*
Stilgar: "Whoa! Not that big."
Wasn't Zendaya...was the one playing her "best friend".
chani's like: go on
Wheres the " beware of the trap door spiders , not the big ones they are harmless ... but the little ones .."🤣
The humor in these films (ESPECIALLY part 2) is really underappreciated; it's subtle, natural, and always serves to characterize the person who speaks the line (hence why Stilgar has most of the humourous lines; he's a likeable yet tragic character). I have a feeling that for these reasons, the humor in these movies will stand the test of time FAR better than the overly ironic, quippy dialouge which audiences of "Marvel-ized" cinema in the 2010s-2020s have already come to loathe
"Whoa, not that big!" - Stilgar when Paul calls the worm
*"As written"* is my fave quote in the movie, cracked me up everytime Stilgar said it and "Lisan al gaib" of course.
I just started laughing so laud, when Paul pulled out the "Ermmm akshually miss! 🤓" bit, about sand walking
I felt bad for being the only person in the whole theater laughing. This movie had solid humor.
The story (or at least the movie) has the potential to be a typical summer action flick
i love how 90% of these moments belong to Stilgar
2,5 minutes of funny moments in almost 3 hours of film that's saying something about the degree of serious in this film
Thanks for making complex topics simple to understand.
No one:
Stilgar: "Lisinalgabe"
Watch it at 2x speed 😂
Stilgar is the greatest comedic relief and the greatest hype man to ever exist
It miss a few funny scenes but it's really cool to have this thanks !
Yes, Stilgar's religious fervour was played up for laughs... until the very end of the film. I wonder how many of the film goers realised that billions were going to die thanks to that fervour, combined with Paul's order to 'Bring them ( the Great Houses of the Landsraad) to Paradise'? Suddenly, Stilgar's zeal doesn't seem quite so amusing...
Duncan and Skillgar were the most human characters in the movies.
Hans Zimmer actually wanted to feature a kazoo on the soundtrack but at the last minute chickened out
Stilgar saying Paul must be the mahdi because he's too humble to admit it had me howling because it just screamed that same scene from Monty Python's Life of Brian!
0:49 At this moment Stilgar became my favorite character hahaha
It’s funny to me how the Fremen treat water as holy and extremely seriously but worm riding is sort of a fun hobby in comparison.
"Dont let it out!" killed me.
How tu turn a space drama into a space comedy 😀
The background music makes it even more funnier
in a way both Paul and Jessica died in this movie and we are just looking at creatures beyond humanity clinging to this world. I know Jessica does it because she loves Paul, but i do wrestle with Pauls reasoning. Surely victory cant be worth all those dead.
The whole plot was a Gom Jabbar. Reasoning? The path was predetermined.
Without Stilgar the plot wouldn't have thicken for sure.
lmao Stilgar trying to scare Paul
If your a 40k fan I bet you also chuckled at the “he’s to humble to say he is the Madhi, which is something only the madhi would say” *AHEM!* (I know 40k took inspiration from dune but it’s still funny)
Gurney was about to POUNCE on Stilgar for disrespecting Leto 😂
The monthy python reference got me rolling in the theater
It has that Game of Thrones humor
You don't have to be afraid of the big centipedes.
You only have to worry about the small ones.
✋................................................... 🤚
I can't believe you forgot about when it looked like Feyd was goona bang only for him to be shown the Box....
Paul: *farts*
Stilgar: "Lisan al Gaib"
2024 gave me 2 adaptations which strayed away from the source material (Dune part 2 and Netflix ATLA) but Dune part 2 was a great movie because it was full of life thanks to the humor which is great even though I still have gripes with some of the choices, whereas ATLA live action show was terrible because it sucked all the life out of the original show which was the main reason why I loved the animated series in the first place(the humor) so now I'm mad at the changes ATLA made to characters AND also the fact that it was basically lifeless
Go with the mad. Mad is always fun.
Header should be Javier Bardem scenes in Dune 2 😂
By the way awesome movie awesome performances
Good job, you made Dune look goofy as hell
... On second thought, let's not go to Arrakis. It is a silly place.
“Dune Part Two” starts off the video with Dune part one clips
Everyone comparing Stilgar fanaticism to Life Of Brian makes me wanted to go back to my PCs recycle bin 🤣🤣
0:06 God I wish I was that table
lol anyone catch the nod to Monty pythons life of Brian in there 😂
I mean, the concept is entirely identical.
LoB made everyone laugh about the idea.
Dune makes everyone go..."Oh fuck, we're screwed."
00:26 litterally my buddies, when we're drinking
Everyone needs a stilgar in life.
Bro.. Good Edit!
Yes I thought no one would say it! This guy is good
Part 2 did improve on its humor. And that's a good thing!
Best comedy of the year.
Paul farts
Stigler: omg he's the chosen one!
What a difference decidedly non-epic music can make.
"Don't let it out..."
Stilgar is my favorite
Bro high af entire movie
Say the line, Stilgar.
Stilgar rules!
2:24 Lisan Al Ghaib
🙈
incredible what just a musical cue will do
We all laugh at stilgar but the message of Dune is fully embedded in him we should pay very close attention.
In hindsight, most ignorance is humorous.
I was upset at how much i liked both,
Usually movie 2 of anything doesnt conpliment the first movie if the 1st movie is so good
Matrix
Avitar
Men in Blsck
Any Disney/Pixar
Back to the Future
But Dune 2 is Dune 1 next level
2:25 is my favourite 🤣
I love the Djin part.
He makes it seem like a joke but then "But is true, don't listen to them". Just hilarious :D
Where exactly you got the movie with such stunning resolution?
Stilgar, I love you!
Watching Dune 2 at home:
Did you forget Gurney while setting up his tent blowing air in his face?
