But I think that we will never again see real kung fu like in 70s 80s even early 90s. These films today most of them are just special effects. And actors have none or very little martial arts foundation. I noticed that you do wing chung. Youre very good. I know how much effort pain and denial it takes to be a solid fighter letalone the great fighter.
Maybe not as good as Snake in the eagles shadow but you forget to mention Lau Kar-leung movie The Spiritual Boxer which came out in 1975 starring Wong Yue. doing Jackie Chan before Jackie was doing the clowning stuff. Plus Alexander Fu would put a bit of comedy in Chang Cheh's bloodshed movies. Ps love your documentaries. Could you do a piece some of the extra. they sometime stand out. Thankyou
Why Hong Kong movies isn't as famous as before? I know being a Malaysian born Chinese, i have no right to criticise the film industry in Hong Kong. Its because most of the Hong Kong movies is made using old actors. Can you imagine Louis Koo and Aaron kwok still be the main guy be 50 and above. Need new faces. You don't need handsome dude to do the job. I don't know much but i heard that previous Director uses to teach young actors to act.
Some aspects of Hong Kong cinema don't travel as well as others, what is deemed "amusing" in 1 place isn't as funny in others. Shaw brothers produced some absolute stinkers in the late 70's, even director Chang Cheh followed the trend and made his worst film. If you then add the English dub into the mix, it just gets worse. For me some films make me howl with laughter, but most don't, probably because I am a grumpy old man.
How??? Why??? I still love Hong Kong action and Kung Fu movies ❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!!!
👏👏👏💪💪💪
I would appriciate if you could do a video of Wang Lung Wei. He has powerfull skills. Real good fighter especially after shaw brothers.
