I am a senior golfer 71 years old and a 12 handicap at 6,000 yards. This is the best 10 minutes of instruction I have ever had. I -practiced the drills for about 30 minutes and then played 18 holes I made the best ball contact ever, seriously. I added 8-15 yards per club. Another benefit was the ball went straighter than ever. I hit 14 greens in regulation, 3 of my misses were long. Thank you so much for this video. Love your instruction. Jerry
Please.. THIS IS INSANEEE!!!! Man.. i just learned golf 3 months ago, i had a coach but i still couldnt truely understand the fundamental of golf swing. Whenever he tells me to turn the shoulder & hip together.. Now you make me understand sir!! Thank you so much
I’ve hit thousands of golf balls and tried many types of ‘swings’, most involving mechanical moves. This flowing swing corrected 95% of my shots the first time I tried it. Now I know my stance, grip etc were correct during this whole ordeal. Just swing it!!! Barry Webster
The 1st time I saw video of my swing it was obvious I had too much SWAY! Danny you nailed it on this instruction, thanks so much… Life is better with piston but no sway!
Another good instructional video. Not only do you point out errors that many golfers make in their swing, you make sure to provide ways to correct them. Fortunately, none of these errors apply to me. I have other things to work on, and you have helped me with those.
Hi Danny, Thanks again for another great lesson. The best thing about your videos to me is that I have to keep reminding myself about how to swing. Often times I can go for a few rounds and swing well but then I do something differently unconsciously and my swing goes awry. Your lessons help me stay focused on how to maintain a good swing.
Danny - another great video. A lot of us as we get older are just not as flexible. On the backswing we get in the correct position only to then lift up in an attempt to swing further back and get too steep and out of position; lots of compensations occur consciously and unconsciously to compensate to complete the task. I think it would be interesting to show how even a "shorter" backswing in the correct position can deliver much better results. In other words, shorten the backswing, slight pause, then fire through. Swing within yourself for better consistency. Rich - Pittsburgh, PA. USA
Hi danny your demo at the start of the video describes my swing to the T , i have been trying to get more rounded with my swing but have tendency to hook the ball I play of 6 handicap Great demonstration thanks mark
I think I am number 2 Danny. I always want to hit through the ball and try to promote rotation to do this effectively. Things often go well when I shorten the swing but then when I want to get better and lengthen the swing it becomes less consistent. As you often say, and in this great video too, it's all about getting an easy swing. When I want to go back and get it right I always return to your effortless swing video and let the weight and momentum of the club promote the swing. Things always improve then. Work for the range.
hi Danny, I started to watch your videos a couple of months ago and watching them I'm beginning to build up a good feeling of what I'm dooing (may it be wrong or right), I can now understand much better what a swing basically is (or should be), and I got much more aware of how I swing. Thanks to you my golf improved a lot ! keep on the good work, I'm looking forward for your next videos :-)
Good morning Danny hope your keeping well. It's no2 sometimes for me, but since I've lengthened my warm up set up I'm getting a better rhythm in my swing . Your lessons have improved my game so much 👍cheers
Great tips, you have a knack of saying the “same things” we have heard elsewhere but it makes more sense. A wonderful blend of ideas, concepts and data. Never disappointed. I’m a master of trying to put club into positions and body looses sense of motion, rhythm and dynamics.
Another good one! Flow is the one I've been working on. Sometimes I get too many swing thoughts in my head and become too mechanical. I lose the feel. Always have better strikes with a good rhythm to my swing.
Hi Danny, I think at various times I struggles with all 3. Your videos of recent times have all focused around the back swing and trying to hit up on the ball. I practice indoors daily and soon hopefully will have an indoor sim to assist. Thanks for your content. Stay well
Great video Danny. After listening to you I try to put the club in the right position instead of letting the flow to the correct position. Thanks for the info!!
Yet another brilliant video, Danny. I'm nearly always guilty of swinging the club smoothly. Find myself trying to jump out of my shoes, to hit it hard and far, thereby increasing tension which magnifies the mistakes. My little reminder is to, "Swing the club", not "Hit with the club". Doesn't always help, but does help me relieve the tightness and tension in my swing. Cheers, Danny!
Great video! On the first point (as this is something I struggle with), the swing thought that really helps me is to think about the backswing being a curve that loops around my spine and back towards the target, not just a straight 2D line (which is what you see when people draw plane lines). This helps me rotate both arms and shoulders around my spine and avoid them getting too flat. This thought really helped me a lot so much help some others too.
@@GlennCorbet I was about to and saw that Dan above just articulated better than I ever could. The point is we often see swing plains drawn in 2D and they’re not a straight line, it’s actually a loop. Technically it’s not a perfect circle but thinking about it in that way really helps me to rotate more on-plane. The thought I personally have in my head is the thought of twisting up and around my head/spine and back towards the target but find whatever works for you.
@@DanielMaude thanks Danny! Do you have any advice for an over-the-top move in the transition that ONLY materialises when hitting a ball? I have a practice swing that looks like that of someone with half my handicap but when I put a ball down my brain just wants to throw my hands in a straight line at it. So incredibly hard to stop it despite watching every guide on the internet on OTT moves 😫 It feels psychological- like my brain forgets the club head is actually at an angle from my hands/arms and swings the arms at the ball, not the club head.
Hey danny thank you for another great video . I suffer from tension in the arms so the idea of one , two and just swing and let it go is a great help for me to release it .
Danny, I have been remaining too upright and not letting my lead shoulder fall below my trail shoulder. Great video. Shoulder, piston and swing freely.
Hi Danny. All ways enjoying your Saturday lessons. After nearly 50 years of golf I started avweek ago what you show in mistake no 3. My Irons and Woods goes as straight as ever before. Are you close to the stack and tilt swing? As my favorit on UA-cam , Tom Saguto, teaches. I find that you both have the same preferences😊 Keep up your exelent work👍👏
Number 2 is what I do. Giving me inconsistent ball strike and a tendency to hit the floor behind the ball. Will work on it. Great video as always, clear and easy to understand 👍
I spent years practicing in my garage, and unbeknownst to me, developed a very flat, inside backswing (subconsciously trying to avoid the overhead door openers)! Ugh, it's now horribly ingrained. So much so that I had quit the game for years. I started back a few years ago, and I've been fighting the flat inside swing. I can play it, but I lose distance. Your drill about turning back and looking up to the sky over my trail shoulder is a great "feel" for where the club should be. Sometimes I actually hit balls in play that way, turning my head back down, but it's not good for consistency... still, it's a highly effective "feel".... I have spent recent years practicing indoors with Callaway foam practice balls and mirrors... but nothing was really working out on the golf course... but doing that drill during my practice swing, has had a huge impact in just the week or two that I've adopted it!
Great vid Danny. Why are there not enough swing lessons on YT explaining the desired distance to stand from the ball - too close or too far? Often I see setup n ball position. This 3 mistakes are great content to ensuring I can "swing thru" with my irons now..thank you
Hi Danny, your videos are awesome. Big fan here & subscriber from the USA. Biggest mistake I make is under-rotating my backswing. End up crushing the ball WAY left OR unconsciously not rotating my hands properly through the ball to compensate for timing problem now created. In the latter case the distance suffers - divot points left, ball goes straight but short. The latter is by far my #1 swing fault.
Another great video. Mistake #1 really helped me. I was struggling spraying it all over swaying. I turned my friend on to your video's and he has dropped his index 4. Keep them coming.👍👍
Great lesson Danny!!! Being that I will not be able to play as much now due to the weather… this will help me keep me from making the mistakes you help me correct this summer.
The lead shoulder was the trick for me! The power that one little trick has added to my golf swing is still mind blowing sometimes. I feel like I owe you some money!
Hi Danny and fellow fans. In addition to this great advice, thinking lead shoulder "out" as well as down has helped me. My previous thought was "shoulder to chin". I found that this was crimping my shoulder turn.
Great video, on my way to the range today and will be working on that. I’ve been focusing on mistake 1 the last couple of times I’ve been. Not been fully swinging with my body. Great advice as always 👍🏻
Thank you Danny when i pivot my shoulders I notice my chin hitting my shoulder and that is all I can go back. I have a problem with dipping my shoulder on my forward swing. Not all the time but it pisses me off when I do it. :) I need to be more discipline with your drills. I do it for a short time and I think I got it. Na Na. Thanks again. Ralph
Your videos are extremely helpful. They have helped me to greatly improve my game. I would like to ask you to produce a video showing a face on view of the driver and iron swing IN SUPER SLOW MOTION. That would help see exactly how the body, arms hands and feet act during the full swing.
Danny, I’m guilty of everything, but especially fault No. 2. I have watched myself on video from years ago and my forward sway kills my chances of solid ball striking every time. I will definitely work on the piston motion. Thanks for all your help.
Hello Danny. For issue #1 I have found that as I start my back swing I make sure that the front of my lead shoulder points at, and then just passes the ball. Same result as you but the shoulder point gives me something concrete to focus on. Just a thought! Thanks again for another great vid.
Thought provoking video Danny. Something that has crept into my game is digging my irons into the turf. I connect with the ball first and the shot is generally ok but my iron creates such a big divot the follow through is curtailed or even halted. Perhaps this is because of my position at top of backswing and coming down too steeply.
Saturday morning special! Truthfully Ive had all of these issues and when I say had (they do reappear at least once a round) but in large part to you they’re disappearing. One look up into the tree on backswing, two act like your marching heel toe etc three remember one and two... job done. Hope this makes sense it does to me!
Great video! I have added a bit front leg lean to my irons that has produced excellent strikes, from better ball compression. It also puts my backswing in the proper location, so my hits are far more consistent. My chin tells me when my shoulder is in the right spot, and then I fire away.
Hi Danny, have you finished your practice plan? Great lesson and I need to keep the 3 points to front of mind! I must cut out my sway..... at least!! R
Found your lesson when I was at my wits end with inconsistent iron shots. I think I’ve had a light bulb moment and I think my problem lies in no’2 , left shoulder too high. When I do strike the ball well it goes to the left of target, I bet it’s the left shoulder too high. Thanks a lot for the lesson. Andrew.
Love this lesson - I suffered from the shoulders being too horizontal - your drill has really helped me stop this and give such a better ball strike. Will we get one of your great practice plans for this one soon 🙏😊
@@DanielMaude This part of my swing is finally fixed! I was combining excessive shoulder rotation in the backswing with a forward lead shoulder lean on the downswing which caused me to steepen even more so by the time I rotated all the way around my swing I was inside out which was causing my slice.
Wonderfully presented, as always Danny. My backswing is inconsistent. When I get it right, I know the shot will be good before actual impact and vice versa. Definitely guilty of 1 and 3. Thanks for getting me "flowing."
Great advice and fits in with the others as a constant reminder of avoiding bad habits which I seem to incur when dressed up for the cold & wet weather which seems to hinder the body turn and reverts back to arms only. Any thoughts on how to force your way through the constraints of clothing
Enjoyed the lesson again Danny. Something that I'm a bit unsure about in the backswing is the right elbow. Is it strictly no less than 90 degree angle at the top of the swing, the bigger the angle the better( more than 90)? Or does it not really matter too much.
Great content and informative coaching session Danny my problem is probably mistake 2 leaving my weight on the trail foot like the piston concept and the toy maybe at a dress I put my weight on the lead foot 60/40 and not fire through to the target great ideas 💡
I really like your your Saturday videos and have benefited from them. I always try to get the practice plans, but lately they have not been available at the same time the videos. I try to find them later, but so far have been unsuccessful. Where do I find them if they are not available with the video release?
More great instruction Danny and simple tips to follow to take on to the course! I seem to be missing the last 3 or 4 Practice Plans which haven’t been posted simultaneously with the tutorial on the Saturday morning - will these be posted shortly?
You have a sweet swing Danny. Thanks for the tips. I especially like the hips like a piston tip. You talked about that in another video and it made rotation if you will very simple for me.
Thanks Danny one more time! Your drills are so straight and easy (I assume, TBC) to implement I can just look forward to trying them on tomorrow morning with impatience. BTW, still slicing w my drive!
very often when thinking distance I increase the amount of effort being placed on the swing, that not only throughs the back swing off but whole bunch on ther unwanted parts of it. If you would, explain how to control the swing when adding some effort with the distance desired. Only aske for this as your videos have been greatly helpfull. Thank you.
Great material Danny. In the 6 months of following your videos and playing I’ve gotten my handicap down to a 12. More important though is you’ve made the game fun! Keep up the great work!
Hi Danny, thank you for the content. I have one question regarding when you are explaining how to work your clubs like a piston. I see you rotating your shoulders and hips at the same time on your downswing. Would you recommend all players to work that way or create a LAG as the swing becomes more comfortable?
Great video again, Danny. Just wondering if there was a number 4 mistake, where the lead arm leads the backswing and body has to catch up? I learned to think that lead arm pinned to chest prevents this.... and helps to eliminate mistakes 1 & 2.
ok i will back to this basic motion,i will do it every day so it will become my muscle memory!! im so desperate and struggling alot on my backswing inconsistency..
These videos are really great and a wonderful teaching aid. My question-would you recommend building in a short pause at the top of the backswing before starting down? I find I tend rush the downswing and then things go wrong.
Ha Ha. Certainly #1 and #2. I swear you are psychic! I've been struggling with aspects of the driver lesson you gave me a couple of weeks ago and, after a dreadful round on Thursday, came to the conclusion that my swing plane is too low. I'm sure you'll fix me on Tuesday for the follow-up. I'll get out in the garden over the weekend and work on it.

Great content and informative coaching session Danny my problem is probably mistake 2 leaving my weight on the trail foot like the piston concept and the toy maybe at a dress I put my weight on the lead foot 60/40 and not fire through to the target great ideas 💡
Absolutely Trevor, always important to transfer pressure from one foot to another. You just don’t move your mass lots
This video is one of your best Danny. Thank you...
No problem Daniel 👍 thanks for taking the time to comment
I really like your your Saturday videos and have benefited from them. I always try to get the practice plans, but lately they have not been available at the same time the videos. I try to find them later, but so far have been unsuccessful. Where do I find them if they are not available with the video release?
Simply brilliant top top tips and practise elements thank you all the best for the festive season and coming New Year
Great video. I'm getting a squeaky toy and added it to my bag! Thanks!
Awesome, let me know how it goes
More great instruction Danny and simple tips to follow to take on to the course! I seem to be missing the last 3 or 4 Practice Plans which haven’t been posted simultaneously with the tutorial on the Saturday morning - will these be posted shortly?
They will David, I’ve been seriously busy last few weeks building new website but do intend to release them all soon
Hi Danny. Love your practice plan summaries of the videos. How's the plan for this one coming along ?
You have a sweet swing Danny. Thanks for the tips. I especially like the hips like a piston tip. You talked about that in another video and it made rotation if you will very simple for me.
Thanks Danny one more time! Your drills are so straight and easy (I assume, TBC) to implement I can just look forward to trying them on tomorrow morning with impatience. BTW, still slicing w my drive!
Awesome tips Danny....Thank you for all your hard work!!!
Pleasure Joe, all the best
Brilliant and helpful as always Danny. put me down as guilty of all three.
Hope this helps Simon
very often when thinking distance I increase the amount of effort being placed on the swing, that not only throughs the back swing off but whole bunch on ther unwanted parts of it. If you would, explain how to control the swing when adding some effort with the distance desired. Only aske for this as your videos have been greatly helpfull. Thank you.
Probably my favorite video really helped my swing
So glad to have found your channel! Super helpful tips!
Great To have you here Andrew
Great material Danny. In the 6 months of following your videos and playing I’ve gotten my handicap down to a 12. More important though is you’ve made the game fun! Keep up the great work!
for me the maintaining of the 2angles i.e shaft to forearm and wrist set the taking this away seems to work well.
Hi Danny, thank you for the content. I have one question regarding when you are explaining how to work your clubs like a piston. I see you rotating your shoulders and hips at the same time on your downswing. Would you recommend all players to work that way or create a LAG as the swing becomes more comfortable?
Yet another excellent lesson. Thank you Danny
All the best Michael
Awesome video!! I have all 3 but I’m learning! Thank you Dan
Another great but simple swing video
Great video again, Danny. Just wondering if there was a number 4 mistake, where the lead arm leads the backswing and body has to catch up? I learned to think that lead arm pinned to chest prevents this.... and helps to eliminate mistakes 1 & 2.
Absolutely Gordon, sometimes pinning it too much can restrict speed
I really like the 'piston' analogy. Maybe it's because I'm from the Detroit area... get it? :)
😁
Great video Danny! Would this be considered stack and tilt or is it different? Thanks for the info!
ok i will back to this basic motion,i will do it every day so it will become my muscle memory!!
im so desperate and struggling alot on my backswing inconsistency..
Love to hear how you get on
Omg i do all 3 😁 brilliant as always Danny i look forward to a Saturday video
Great 👍 👌 lesson . I am going to be trying to get this feel
All the best of luck
Great video! I am just getting into golf, these videos are so helpful.
Another great video with quality content. Thanks 👍
Thanks so much Kevin, hope it helps. Have a great weekend
Another great video as we have come to expect Danny. I really struggle with the weight shift. Can you recommend an exercise to combat this?
Ha e got one coming next week 👍
I make mistake 2 and fat the shot or top it. Still working on a more natural swing without my mind running through a checklist as I swing.
Another great lesson Danny. Merry Christmas to and your loved ones.
And you Wayne, all the best
These videos are really great and a wonderful teaching aid. My question-would you recommend building in a short pause at the top of the backswing before starting down? I find I tend rush the downswing and then things go wrong.
Personally I don’t think a forced pause at the top of the swing is a natural thing to do and can affect the sequencing
Hi Danny, Great videos to follow. Can you show us how to hit downhill or uphill lies? Thank you.
Absolutely George
I'll get out in the garden over the weekend and work on it.
another great video as always thanks much for all your help
Thanks Danny. Another great video
Pleasure, hope it helps
I believe I’m a combo with 1 and 2 that was a great video
