This is the best series EVER. I said it. No sound bytes. Just allowing them to speak. They know what they want to edit and reveal, it's all them. No uncomfortable moments, just allowance of the guest to be front and center.
I'm in awe of theater folk like Donna. The sheer brains to memorize new songs, new choreography, continually auditioning, doing other projects, all at once, and maintaining your health and body and voice. It's not for the faint of heart. Trust me. All guts and sweat. And her singing is actually phenomenal.
I just LOVE Donna McKechnie and have been a fan since Company lo these many years ago. Loved her memoir, Time Steps. I could listen to her talk and tell stories for hours and hours.
WOW! This should be required viewing for anyone training and/or working as a performing artist in the theater. Why? Watch it and you'll find out 😊 Thank you SO MUCH, Ms. McKechnie, Broadway and Tony Award Winning LEGEND!
Ms. McKechnie, I'm just about to begin reading your book, so this video showed up with ideal timing. It was wonderful to listen to you speak of your special recollections, early career & life lessons, and your physical recovery/getting back to dancing. I'm so inspired by you already, and I look forward to reading more about your journey. Thank you for sharing your remarkable talents with this world - and thank you for your generosity in wanting to offer hope to others. I appreciate it so much. The theatre world is all the richer for your presence in it. I wish you continued happiness.
Gah. They gave the great Donna McKechnie a Playbill cover for SWEET CHARITY with a photo of Ann Reinking on the cover. That is so embarrassing. But she handled their error like a pro. A very gracious and forgiving pro.
47 minutes of Donna McKechnie telling stories about her career??? A GIFT
I also have to say Donna’s book genuinely changed my life. I cannot recommend it enough.

Baayork next !
Please show the playbill covers a little more often so we still know what show she is talking about if we miss the page turn. :)
I never realized the studios for this series is filmed in the same building where Splash Bar NYC used to be! Talk about queer memories!

Great episode. But. Why the hell didn't anyone fix her hair?
