Sue is finally getting the recognition she deserves. In an age of effects pedals, she plays a straight Tele, making every note count and showing one of the strongest left hand attacks I have seen. She also sings in her own voice and makes the most of it.
Love Sue Foley. Weird comment on effects pedals, though; as if somehow they’re a cheat to “making every note count.” They’re a tone choice, not a short cut to technique, feel, or phrasing. Preferring straight to amp is cool, but equating a choice to incorporate pedals as inferior is shallow. Ever heard of Hendrix? And by the way, sometimes she uses a tremolo effect.
I’m an old 76 year old picker and I just discovered Sue and in my opinion with no offense meant to the other young lady blues players I have listened to, Miss Foley puts the others to shame with her style, voice and prowess on the guitar…excellent!😎🎸🎶
Sue is brilliant, but have you listened to and seen Samantha Fish? If you're talking about style, voice and prowess on guitar, she is incomparable! She also displays a stage presence second to none. In my opinion Samantha's best performances were between 2014 and 2017, (25 to 28 years old), when her band consisted of only herself, a bassist and drummer. If you're not familiar with her, I'll be happy to provide links to some of her performances.
Little did Fender know Ms. Sue Foley would take the pink paisley telecaster for her very own. Really looking forward to seeing her live again. She does it the way I like every chord.
@@musicman4635 OK good thanks - I may have heard that somewhere before, maybe at a show of hers, yet us old electric guitar players don't always hear so good...

Sue needed a good engineer in this performance. Seems to be a brain-dead audience and an 'undynamic' theatre setting, so she's facing a challenge. I think it's a great performance, given the flat microphone dynamic here, little if any reverb on her youthful vocals. Her twin amp setup is full and the tele has plenty of punch. A keyboard would fill in nicely but I like her sharp Texas blues attack, a bit raw and unvarnished--as it should be. The bass and drums are adequate but no surprises, unchanging, no runs on the bass, but solid, good, urgent drums. I have great respect for any artist who's faced with either a small audience or one that just doesn't have much enthusiasm, as this one sounds to lack. .

Je suis amoureux de sa technique à la guitare, simple et superbement beau.
I agree.
Ja, du hast recht, exzellent, und es macht immer gute Laune.
Ich mag auch Sam Fish sehr.

Joanne Shaw Taylor is another great female blues guitarist to follow.
I was 16 when I first heard her, now at 42 she still impresses me with her completely unique style! Such a creative, inspiring player!
Strong and clear guitar work . Fantastic !
Sue's debut album (1992!) is still one of my favorite albums. Even at a young age, she "got" what great blues is. And still does, of course.
Authentic blues at last from a fabulous female performer. Head and shoulders above the rest.
You Are just Wonderful Sue..! Congratulations I play guitat too.. ❤ blues rock is my favorite one. Greetings.
this woman is superb, beautiful voice and beautiful sound.
Very great guitarwoman of the blues
She has beautiful phrasing. I've heard lots of blues guitarists but she's unique. Colin from the Yale days in Vancouver, BC

Wow, sounds great over the home theater. Sue, you are such a class act! Thanks for the video. I was there too. Got to meet the Queen Bee herself!

So what is the signature on this fender? "To Sue from..." is that Leo F.? Buddy Guy? Looks more like Donald Trump's signature, hee hee.
It's from Jimmy Vaughan signed "to Sue Foley"

Johnny Bradley layin' down some fat lines with that EB-0 !!

I like tele Sound Sound .
Very, very good,
Her rhythm chops remind of Johnny Winter… only Johnny played it louder and faster… lol
Was it improvisation on 37th minute?

Gawd what an awful audience. I dunno about bass and drums, they aren't very inspiring either. Guess there was no booze there to loosen up the crowd.
nice tight trio, Sue is all that!

What a lackluster crowd!
They seriously needed to show her more respect. She's one of the greats.
Gosh, straight up blues and no Tattoos...what's not to love....
Not crazy about her singing voice but she can play!!
right - females best player - but Rory Gallagher - if you know him - (Garbage man ..) showed how to ADD SOME MORE POWER.
oooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooo
Why do they think, that they have to talk a lot?
She’s awesome! Texas isn’t.
It just never gets tired….🇮🇪🥁
Magari suonare con L'anima noo!
Scarsa molto scarsa
Meh
