Don't throw the empty box away! There's a code on the bottom that you can use to get "Dust" points, which can be redeemed for special cards etc. down the line.

I'm not sure there's enough interest to keep this, Fab and Metazoo alive. Mind you this being a board game hybrid might help. Time will tell.
One thing I love about this game is how they do playsets. Uniques you can only have 1 in your deck Elites you can have 2 Exceptional you can have 3 Ordinaries you can have up to 4 It makes you opening a Unique doubly exciting, because you have a full playset already!
while it’s cool for the players because that will save them a whole lot of money to play the game, it wont be cool for the sellers because it limits the reason for people to open more packs.
@@Dinosaur_Doggothere's plenty of people opened 15-18 boxes and are nowhere completing the uniques in non foil. They are extremely hard to complete to I don't necessarily concur with that. But certainly the ordinarys and in part the exceptionals will be cheap. If the game picks up and gains a lot of players the meta uniques and elites will hold some good value. Especially when you get one that collectors are after aswell
doesn't seem like a good idea tbh. 1. it adds an unnecessary complication to the game, for no benefit. 2. conflating gameplay with financials is just asking for trouble. 3. this will get even more convoluted when cards are reprinted in other rarities. 4. it discourages them from printing cards in multiple rarities. 5. it devalues high rarity cards. 6. it will be convoluted three-fold if/when cards become banned/restricted.
It’s normally 36packs and will be that per box. The alpha boxes have 39 packs as a sorry for being so late to release. That’s why 39 packs. Will only be that way for alpha boxes
Cutest thing I have noticed in the art is that Disenchant and Dispel is the same breaking window. One painting is seen from the inside, the other from the outside.
Rudy, you pulled a Dual Land and you unknowingly just breezed on by it. I've played this game several times already. What I love is that it has locations (sites) that your Avatars, Minions, Relics, Monuments....all move around on. Build out your sites in many directions and you expanding your battlefield. It goes into a deeper level than MtG. There is a 2nd strategy that takes place. Sweet! BTW - I love Magic. I've been playing/collecting for over 20 years. I never thought there would be another TCG to come around to get me this excited. I guess I was wrong. Sorcery is AWESOME!!
The unique foil is a huge hit, each of those cards only has a population of 248. Less than MTG serialized. Even elites are 1/466. Gorgeous cards all around, I cracked 4 boxes and wish I bought more.
My brother in-law got 2 boxes and one of them was a 'God box'with 6 unique-rarity foils, including a P Stone, basically won the lottery on this product.
I only got one box because I couldn't afford to go deep at the time. I was sold on the art but I can't believe how much this has blown up and knowing I'll have to wait for beta to afford more

it's MTG on a grid, four "colors" versus 5, your avatar is your in-game planeswalker (with 20 life...what a coincidence) the game is literally an MTG Homage/love-letter/reboot. If you liked late 90's magic, you're in the right place with Sorcery.

Just got my kickstarter box and I'm so excited. I started magic in '94/'95 and the art was 100% why. I'm so over the new all-digital art of mtg these days. Even if the cards are shite compared to modern ones power-wise, I would love to play a game with cards all from the old hand painted ice age/homelands/mirage days again, so...sorcery.
I created an affordable Old School Magic format called "Fallen Light" in my community. It's Fallen Empires through Weatherlight with no core sets... so it's all the best art, low power level, cheapest form of OS magic you could ask for.
I got as bunch of sorcery ordinary and exceptional bulk and was severely underwhelmed by the flimsy cardstock, faded colors and how many just okay cards there were in regards to art. Lots of duds. MtG portal starter decks are 1000x better. We're in the Sorcery pump right now...I forget what comes next.
Collectors boosters ruined magic for me, too many junk foils curling that aren't even worth sleeving. Its refreshing to have foils matter again, some of the full art backs are really awesome, makes me want to collect them. Love that they stay flat.
Loving opening this set, beautiful art, highly collectible. But no, it's not a Magic killer, I don't think it's trying to be. Hopefully it carves out it's own strong following. Look close for Uniques and Elites in the Ordinary slot, could be a Curio

I sold quickly bc on east coast so early US delivery so expected rush of listings with rest of US getting theirs delivered which I thought would be a race to the bottom. It's not a competitive style tcg more kitchen table oriented so that's what bolstered my opinion of race to the bottom. But that was before Rudy brought ton more eyes so kicking myself for not being more patient however at same time I can say I gave someone a good deal & dont have to worry about fighting that inevitable urge I'd get to open the box lol

The artwork is gorgeous. Knowing Melissa Benson of MTG Nightmare fame is part of this is super exciting. Those foils are killer. I have to agree, the disenchant is pure gold.
Damn, looks like I need to get into those. Have really been missing the more old-school feel of MTG from before Mirrodin and this really seems like it will scratch that itch. Real bummer I missed the kickstarter.

Actual competition in a very niche space is good for everyone. Players will get a better game. Designers will get pushed to build more interesting concepts. This could push the space into a never even thought of direction. Good times.

Fun fact: Rudy's first Metazoo video garnered 62k views. People absolutely loved it, opening up boxes, pulling full holo Mothman, selling boxes and cards on the secondary market for incredibly high prices. It was labeled as the "Pokemon competitor", that the artwork was an "old school throwback". But when the easy-money stopped flowing the deep pocket collectors left and prices sank. Can't imagine what beta is going to do to Alpha card prices considering they'll be so easy to get. Then we'll see if people actually even want to play this. He starts off that he made the video because people were bombarding him about it. Sounds kind of similar to how he started this. Also saying that flesh and blood was the magic killer at the time. It's done well, it did not kill Magic. History has a funny way of allowing you to glean the future from it.
Exactly why I listed & sold my only box within 2mins of delivery. Its designed to be more casual kitchen table style gameplay so the lack of Competitive play really concerned me for long term. Sad i sold before Rudy could add another 1.5x onto my sale... Its okay though I'm not greedy & 3x my small investment.
This is different. It feels different. Sorry, my friend, you're in the minority on this one. This game reeks of love and effort. It's hard to fail when made with such love. This is the closest thing to the 1st magic sets. I would go as far as saying the art on sorcery is better in some cases. No, this game is amazing.
I feel like FAB is going to be the exception. It's not normal for a new TCG to do as well as it has. Most of these new ones will die. That being said, the art on these things is very cool.
I was too...got my delivered July 3rd & need money so listed on eBay... Someone bought within 2mins of listing. Now I'm sad I sold... Atleast still got the elemental decks lol.

I wouldn't say it was a Magic-killer, because the vibe I'm getting is that it's way more casual and less win-at-all-costs, net-deck etc. It actually does feel like Magic in the early, early days. FaB is the competitive CCG you want if you're after a Magic killer.

Something like atleast 60k packs if not way more making print run much larger than originally without the extra freebie packs as a sorry. I thought initially it was awesome 3 packs more until I seen video about it & thought about it rationally and totally makes more sense to hurt rarity, value, & hit odds with 1/12th box added to each box.
World of Warcraft tcg would of been the closest thing to dethroning Magic if they weren't dumb. Nothing is dethroning Pokemon in terms of sales as long as cardboard is a thing.
Indeed! I cracked (1) Onyx Core - Foil and (1) Amethyst Core - NF. Nevermind the prices they're going for (I am never selling!) but they are hands down some of her most gorgeous artwork/cards I've ever come across. All four core cards are for that matter. All four by MB.
Arrived in Canada a while ago, was pretty happy opening this up. Played the game 1v1 against myself to get a feel for the game and it's pretty neat. As a Doomtown player the spatial element definitely appeals to me.
My only regret is that I didn’t buy more alpha sorcery boxes. I really don’t have anything to compare it to. I was too young when magic and Pokémon released to really get involved and enjoy the early stuff but damn opening a box of sorcery was just insane! I’m all in, can’t wait for beta, I’ll be buying a kit from Rudy for sure. If Alpha prices cool down I’m 100% going back for more
Man...I find it hilarious that I opened two boxes of this and didn't realise the foils I opened had alternate art backs XD. Guess I'll need to relocate my foils to a different spot in the box...
The art really pops with this TCG. I think for just the aesthetic alone I'll have to buy a few beta boxes to enjoy opening it up. Looks really great. I hope this TCG lasts a long time and is a decent competitor to MTG.
The prices these are going for may take collectors from mtg but you got to be kidding me how much cardboard card games are selling for these days when most of the cards you get aren’t worth squat.
I do love the art. Not in a position to buy into another game but I hope it does really well. Very 90s Magic feel, which I consider to be the best Magic.

Fun fact: Rudy's first Metazoo video garnered 62k views. People absolutely loved it, opening up boxes, pulling full holo Mothman, selling boxes and cards on the secondary market for incredibly high prices. It was labeled as the "Pokemon competitor", that the artwork was an "old school throwback".
But when the easy-money stopped flowing the deep pocket collectors left and prices sank. Can't imagine what beta is going to do to Alpha card prices considering they'll be so easy to get. Then we'll see if people actually even want to play this.
He starts off that he made the video because people were bombarding him about it. Sounds kind of similar to how he started this. Also saying that flesh and blood was the magic killer at the time. It's done well, it did not kill Magic. History has a funny way of allowing you to glean the future from it.
Exactly why I listed & sold my only box within 2mins of delivery. Its designed to be more casual kitchen table style gameplay so the lack of Competitive play really concerned me for long term. Sad i sold before Rudy could add another 1.5x onto my sale... Its okay though I'm not greedy & 3x my small investment.

This is different. It feels different. Sorry, my friend, you're in the minority on this one. This game reeks of love and effort. It's hard to fail when made with such love. This is the closest thing to the 1st magic sets. I would go as far as saying the art on sorcery is better in some cases. No, this game is amazing.

I feel like FAB is going to be the exception. It's not normal for a new TCG to do as well as it has. Most of these new ones will die. That being said, the art on these things is very cool.
Distribution of foils are all over the place. Love the quality of the cards though...they're damn near perfect.

I was too...got my delivered July 3rd & need money so listed on eBay... Someone bought within 2mins of listing. Now I'm sad I sold... Atleast still got the elemental decks lol.

@@treasure_galaxy I got to try it yesterday at my LGS. It was pretty fun actually! I wouldn't say it was a Magic-killer, because the vibe I'm getting is that it's way more casual and less win-at-all-costs, net-deck etc. It actually does feel like Magic in the early, early days. FaB is the competitive CCG you want if you're after a Magic killer.

Something like atleast 60k packs if not way more making print run much larger than originally without the extra freebie packs as a sorry. I thought initially it was awesome 3 packs more until I seen video about it & thought about it rationally and totally makes more sense to hurt rarity, value, & hit odds with 1/12th box added to each box.
World of Warcraft tcg would of been the closest thing to dethroning Magic if they weren't dumb. Nothing is dethroning Pokemon in terms of sales as long as cardboard is a thing.
Pokemon will always be around for the younger generations because children are an eternal demographic and will always like the same things

Indeed! I cracked (1) Onyx Core - Foil and (1) Amethyst Core - NF. Nevermind the prices they're going for (I am never selling!) but they are hands down some of her most gorgeous artwork/cards I've ever come across. All four core cards are for that matter. All four by MB.
Arrived in Canada a while ago, was pretty happy opening this up. Played the game 1v1 against myself to get a feel for the game and it's pretty neat. As a Doomtown player the spatial element definitely appeals to me.

My only regret is that I didn’t buy more alpha sorcery boxes. I really don’t have anything to compare it to. I was too young when magic and Pokémon released to really get involved and enjoy the early stuff but damn opening a box of sorcery was just insane! I’m all in, can’t wait for beta, I’ll be buying a kit from Rudy for sure. If Alpha prices cool down I’m 100% going back for more

Man...I find it hilarious that I opened two boxes of this and didn't realise the foils I opened had alternate art backs XD. Guess I'll need to relocate my foils to a different spot in the box...
The art really pops with this TCG. I think for just the aesthetic alone I'll have to buy a few beta boxes to enjoy opening it up. Looks really great. I hope this TCG lasts a long time and is a decent competitor to MTG.
