- Poly Bridge 3 Part 9 - hide yo kids, hide yo wife, the dangling road is back for its revenge tour. It's a shame, I thought we got rid of them once and for all. Don't worry, I won't be boring you all with tweaking dangling roads on camera. It gets a swift acknowledgement, then I move on.

They tried to kill dangling roads, but dangling roads came back more powerful than they could possibly imagine.
Now all we need is a new form of falling roads
Joints not having weight anymore is pretty huge for bridges like this
See top budget on CR-01 they got it for 1-2k (yes it’s a falling road)
@@thiske01 oh no it begins
@@aa01blue38 never really understood why joints had weight in previous games. Makes more sense for the material to me. I suppose while changing it fixes some issues it has also caused others like this type of road
we need a survival mode where the vehicles get heavier and heavier
In his video of the polybridge 2 Olympics they did this exact situation. Its a must watch 😊
YES
There is a stress leaderboard isnt there.
Would encourage building actual bridges and not death traps
That would either be boringly easy, or annoyingly hard. Neat idea, but no possible way it would be any fun
That’s literally a rope bridge with 0 rope
Pb1 good times
it's a .. bridge
@@anothrnomlvery loose definition of bridge there lmao
@@lukemini9021 I mean if a rope bridge is a bridge, then if you replace the rope with wood beams it should still be a bridge?
Rope bridge was literally reinvented due to the physics engine being too good
I can't wait for Tyler's last polybridge livestream VOD to be edited and put on here... definitely one of the best bridges he has made.
Its probably gonna be like 6 episodes before it happens, unless he decides to cut down the end of the final bridge of the stream
one of THE bridges of all time
Well that bridge took like 2 hours to make work so gotta pray for Ben to edit the vod
Evil Tyler be like: there's not enough steel on this bridge
I wonder if the bridge at 11:57 can be done with a dangling road, a banana bridge, or the new muscle road.
Just because the build box is above the road level doesn't mean you can't have your bridge drop to below that level.
It would probably break as it settles cause of the drop but idk I don’t have poly bridge 3
99.98% stress, Tyler casually still has stress to work with
I hope Aliensrock knows that every time I watch Real Civil Engineer constantly works to out do his costs.
I think RCE is well aware tyler is just going half budget for his first run, wont be surprised to see the real.competition begin when he starts optimizing and going for top positions
The most startling revelation in this video occurred at the second level. An i beam is stronger than a little piece of rope
7:10 The foundation wouldn't be that much because you could make it low, with a toothpick support like you have. It would still be $15k minimum though.
Yeah it would cost 15k min. so its not worth it there. However, I can't understand why everytime Tyler showcases the foundation he raises it all the way up instead of using wood muscle from the bottom.
14:38 MOM!!! I'M ON TV!!!!
i really hate dangling roads, i posted the replay so people knew what the cheese was, but never expected you to see it.
What a day to rock some aliens
Love to see how creative you can be about a moving a vehicle
Probably a consequence of node count not being the origin of weight and instead material length is why this dangle works here and not in PB2
Polybridge: the bridge designing game where you want to make the worst bridge possible (that still works)
That’s civil engineering for ya!
10:02 Steel was not bait, it proved the general design worked, once you know it works you can think how to replace steel.
What Tyler doesn't realize is he's making Real Civil Engineer's life so much harder when he grinds the leaderboard lmao, RCE is trying to beat Tyler on each level and these top 10s are gonna drive him mad lmao
I saw him comment on one of RCE's videos; he knows. :)
@@peterpeladon good lord lol, their rivalry is hilarious though, love when RCE beats a level just "did I beat Tyler though?" 🤣
1:38 when your credit card declines for the ambulance.
11:57 I think that RV is the Rust Bucket from Ben10
I enjoy watching someone doing the same thing i did way too much(props to editing!!)
Im getting polybridge 1 flashbacks of the dangle roads
10:05 Well granted. You need steel first to have a working bridge. When its shaved, the mass of the bridge go down. Typicall more than half of the stress is from the mass of the bridge.
Also, a more stressed overstructure on the bridge, flex more, and there for dampen the stress to the lower part.
So easing up the overstructure give dual advantage to the understructure
Have you ever seen a bridge irl and think "i could shave that bridge" yet?
Hey, just wanna say I enjoy your vids a lot! This series is really entertaining, I believe in you, you can complete the half budget saga
I've been watching too much Spy Party. Whenever you said Banana Br- I instinctively flinched.
i thought your word choices for explanations in this video were great for helping me understand, thanks for another good video!
13:08, could a dangling road work? Sure, it's not allowed to be built in a lower position, but what if you can have the bridge fall into position?
Oh no, he has discovered the ladder dangle!
I do believe the devs are going to try and patch it out along with falling road and bananas, but we'll see if it's enough to best the community efforts to find physics jank...
Those are some Mr Crabs approved bridges
I HAVE NO IDK WHAT THAT THUMBNAIL WAS BUT IM HERE TO SEE IT
It reminds of early minecraft where you could just place ladders on every other block
you can't anymore?
@@Hydro123s it got patched out like 11 years ago either during beta or for 1.0, can't remember which one.
In recent years they sort of brought it back so you can replace every other ladder with a trapdoor and it still works.
That right side bump where the 2 curves connected pissed me off imensely for some reason. With a clean transition I feel the bridge wouldnt be as stressed. I couldnt stop seeing it. It was why the right side kept breaking when tweaking it.
man i love this videos and hate that takes so long to upload them or at least make them public imma subscribe, idk why i just haven't if i always watch aliensrock's videos
Tyler should try making a puzzle game that mixes open world puzzles with bridge building.
also on he muscle bridge level you did on stream yesterday where you beat me by like 7 bucks, i shaved like 100 (:
Rope muscles are actually really good, i know its not a perfect example, but in a class i made a bridge with just noodles and glue, and did noodle muscles in a tension design, worked well until one of the noodles under compression snapped
Haha yes, I remember doing this stuff in STEM. One of our assessments was to make a foot long bridge with 200 paddle pop sticks, hot glue, and a meter of string. The others in my class got an average 30kg max - 40kg max, 2nd got theirs to 58kg, I supported 210kg because I used a mix of muscles, tension with the string, and arches instead of a typical truss, also reinforcing the hell out of the supports with glue. It took up all the weights we had in the stem room, we had to go to our fitness centre and grab 20kg plates, it held all 8 plates we grabbed along with the smaller weights we had in the STEM room. For it to finally break we had to stack 5 of the 20kg plates on top of the smaller weights, and get the fat kid to stand on top of it.
I think an easy way to fix the abuse of roads as wood would be that the vehicle has to drive over all of the road pieces used. Could be like the breaking requirement which won't affect gameplay but adds extra challenge to not use road as support.
Somehow dangling roads returned
Nodes with a non-insignificant amount of weight would at least break a dangling design like this that abuses in-between wood to reduce overall weight without causing too much damage on other optimized bridges. There will always be an MVP (minimum viable product) that will exist whether it'd be dangling road, spring canon, banana bridge or other simple contraption.
I argue that it's not cheese, having a road fall from the sky and catapult a car is cheese :p
idk how many comments you read but your poly bridge videos are so so good man
I read all of them, and thanks!
aliensrock is turning into a villain character with his beard and moustage(and bridges)
4:03 hippies man...
I like how RCE is also doing a half money challange because he always wants to beat you.
You've gotta show us the friends tab so we can fuel the RCE vs DildoBike bridge rivalry!
1:41 too True man, too true
4:05 pride van pride van
I just want to say BenBenRanger if you see this: despite the fact I don’t know what you look like you’re a sexy beast with cause of your edits! this series has been an absolute joy even over the first and second game a lot in part because of the new editing style since the last series.
❤
the beginning question is a question not of if the bridge works but one of if tyler got it on the first try or not and is trying to bait us into saying yes when the answer is no.
A Bed Intruder reference? In 2023? I'm here for it
Petition for Tyler to give his icon guy a beard
Tyler- I'm going to do all of the missions at half budget :)
RCE- I'M GOING TO CRUSH TYLER IN EVERY MISSION!
Nice video you got here
Really hope they patch out the new dangle road. I hate tweaking those bridges to get them to work.
They probably will considering how new the game is
Tyler is like Young Sheldon but cool
Reincarnation of the rope bridge
14:19 Tyler is the only person I know who would call a banana bridge stable.
i dont play poly bridge so i would not know- when tyler says "wood rope", is he referring to a length of wood designed to take tensile forces, or one with a joint in the middle or something? as opposed to wood designed to take a compressive force that wants rigidity, it has a joint to take more stretch?
Wood with a node in the middle can't take compressive forces, that's why it's called wood rope.
The purpose is simply to get more length than a single piece of wood can give you, for less cost than rope would be.
I would _guess_ that the tiny amount of flex you get (when the wood rope isn't perfectly vertical so that the node in the middle can swing out to the side and be pulled back when the rope gets loaded) is negligible. Although I don't play the game either so I'm not 100% sure.
At least I'm sure that the average polybridge player doesn't think about the flex while cost shaving, so any flexibility benefit would be unintentional.
Aliens really rock
Yayyyyyy boring ass cheese for the top spots sick. Still better than falling roads i suppose
I think this wouldn’t work in poly bridge 2 because weight is calculated based on the amount of nodes so this bridge would be extremely heavy while in this game it’s calculated on length of pieces so this bridge is very light
Maybe I'm just used to it more, but you look better in your glasses.
RCE is fighting your score lol
Thanks for the content!
Wonder if you could dangling road the level with the rv, all it has to do is survive the initial fall
hey tyler are your vods available for the lowest tier in ur patreon?
I was thinking i dont like Tylers new look because of the glasses making eyes appear different size and me being used to it, but no, seems like it was the beard
Dangling road is eternal
Praying for the muscle rope 🙏💪
great video!
Oh golly
such innovation
I don't know if RCE would approve of this style of bridge
1:30 "normal" is quite loose in poly bridge standards
I love poly bridge content lol
Had to refresh 23 times for this to pop up
i think youre first
They should have named last one "breaking bridge"
Bro! I just noticed! Wtf is the silent from slay the spire doing in your end screen?
TYLER! If you use different channels for audio and record your video separately, your editor could do impossibly good edits
I think Tyler forgot about foundations 😢
That van said “hi gay happy pride month 💅”
The need to add damage mechanical vehicles and a timer. If they try the cheese, the vehicle will be damage.
6:56 what
What where did the road go?
Day 982 of telling Tyler that he never finished his minecraft series and that he should finish it.
Damn we back at it again with dangling roads
Day 942 of agreeing
The dangling road is truly immortal
Woo, dangling road!
Thank you for the video. Commenting for the Algorithm.
glasses back :0
his glasses are part of his channel now, you can take it away.
Yes
Is the footage from a stream?
looks like a rope bridge
I believe in Tyler supremacy
RCE Might need to learn some of your strategies lol.
After you complete the campaign, you need to go back and beat rce’s solutions
Wow, nice, cheesy bridges, Tyler!
What puzzle game is the hardest, how do you think?
Adventure by Jon Schneider from the Galactic Puzzle Hunt 2018 is the hardest puzzle game in existence.
0:08 THE ONE PIECE!!!!!!! THE ONE PIECE IS REALLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!
nice
The horror
YIPPEEEE
Like the beard Tyler.
It's as if your balls finally dropped :P
