A dual swing out would block access around the drivers side under the awning. A larger single n the passenger side would put significant stress on that side of the bumper. I did a dual swing into the receiver and stabilized with the tow points on the bumper. Made to attach with D ring shackles to maintain the recovery points. Just used 1’ pins and still bushings over top of them held in place with a simple cap. I haul a 35” tire and 2- jerry cans on mine. Zero rattling and zero movement.
If you still have the prinsu rack tiny rig will modify it so it goes directly in front of the alu-cab front fyi
Good to know. I moved that rack to my wife's Tacoma 😆
@@seandawnvantures2001 I also learned that sherpa makes a rack that fit's in front of the alu-cab with direct factory mounts pretty cool. PS. Keep up the good work in the vids very much enjoying them glad I found you on here.
@4evryoung426 I really appreciate that! Thanks for the chat.
@@seandawnvantures2001 anytime thank's for response
Portal axles ae a must for your build.👍🇨🇦
I sometimes carry my Kawasaki KLX 230 dual sport bike on my rear hitch. So, not sure if the rear bumper with swing out arms would work on my ALU-CAB canopy camper build. I did get the 2 foot hitch extension so it might work. I do like the idea of the swing out arms for the spare tire and Jerry cans though.
It could be a challenge, but with an extension tube, it may work. Like every overland buildout, it's all individual-specific. You have to find what works for you.
I actually like the look of your rear bumper on the Taco with Alu Cab Canopy Camper! What rear bumper do you have on your rig?
Thank you. Here you go. OEDRO Rear Step Bumper Compatible with Toyota Tacoma 2005-2015 2nd Gen Pick-up, Steel Assembly with D-ring Shackles, Black a.co/d/dpifXXH
So I am considering the Ali-cab camper, just bought myself a 2019 F150 5.0 my question is comfortability living full-time for a couple years 1 to 3 years going out west Arizona, Utah, and probably a dog do you recommend it
Solo with a dog? How big of a dog?
my vehicle outfitter told me i wouldn’t like a swing out bumper on my canopy camper. i have the canopy camper on order, i’m thinking i will stick with the stock bumper for right now. i they say it’s too much work to open the swing out then open your back door to get access to the camper. i wonder if i’ll feel the same way you do after i get my build. Thanks for the video!
Don't get me wrong, I can make it work just fine. Just in hindsight, that would have been a better way to go.
@@seandawnvantures2001 for sure. what brand swing out were you considering? something lightweight?
@@jhelie4732 C4 if I went that route.
What rack did you end up with that only had the two cross bars?
What rack are you referring to?
