Proposed Architecture Plan for SOROTI-Immaculate Conception Cathedral {1960}
The Catholic Diocese of Soroti was created on November 29th 1980, being partitioned from the then Tororo Diocese. Its first bishop, His Lordship Erasmus Desiderius Wandera, was consecrated on the 29th/March/1981. To date it comprises of 10 civil districts of Soroti, Katakwi, Amuria, Kapelebyong, Kalaki, Kaberamaido, Serere, Ngora, Kumi and Bukedea. The tribes inhabiting the diocese are mainly Iteso, Kumam, Bakenye. There are a few Karimojong and Langi in some parts of the diocese.
Until 1980, the territory of the now Soroti Catholic Diocese was part of Tororo Diocese (now Tororo Archdiocese). Soroti Catholic Diocese was erected as a particular church cut off from Tororo Diocese on November 29th 1980.

I call upon every well wisher men and women, rich or poor, young and old in Uganda and outside Uganda to support this ambitious project of our mother church. I am so proud to be a catholic and proud to associate with St. Immaculate cathedral Soroti and may the good lord guide the church and see this project through. Surely if this proposed project is put to reality it will not only be the best in the region but will also act as a tourist attraction to the church and our mother land TESO.

Please am vry PROUD 4 u, listening to your good en enjoyable music/choir. Your music is just like that one of Kenyan Catholic music there. They also sing like you there. Now i suggest that you be calling them also to continue supporting our music since we're now bros n sisters of EAC. They've good musical instruments, knowledge, etc. Please am not saying our music in Teso is not good, our music/choir is so good and enjoyable to listen only that many Catholic churches in Teso lack those good instruments like Keyboards, etc which make music/songs good 2 listen. Also produce more videos so that people/christians like us who're far fm home/Teso can watch, listen, enjoy,etc while at work. Am proud of you St. Immaculate Conception Cathedral Catholic Church in Soroti city. I used to attend prayers in that church when i was studying there.
