Lol - I hate magic loop too, and I also love top down socks with heel flap. Turning the heel is one of my favorite parts of sock knitting, and the other is Kitchener for the toe. Both of these things seem like magic. Come to think of it, knitting is magic - we make garments out of string!
OMG! Irina…… you stopped me dead in my tracks! I can’t join in the round using magic loop either. It takes me 4 or 5 attempts from scratch before I can make the join. And don’t even ask me about twisting the cast on for. I like it for small things vs DPNs but I’m all thumbs on the first row or two. Misery loves company. Professor Purl is too much. Crazy fun!
