...how did you keep the dragon from popping off the agate?

Hello! I usually operate like this.
1.Spread clay on the back of the agate slices and wrap some of the edges to articulate to the side with the dragon, see the method I used in this video ua-cam.com/video/iyzdaeZWknE/v-deo.html
2.You can pry down the dragon after baking and then use Epoxy Ab Glue to reinforce.
