For those who play as German without any paratroopers I recommend use the flamethrowers and granades bags full of white phosphorus and wait in the object and burn everything, you will protect the objective but probably you will not survive.

Makes you appreciate the Pacific paratroopers - your basic weapons prevent you from jumping into the point before taking the box for better kit. And you can't buy a second para squad either so you can't spam them as much.
I'm not 100% certain on any one way to fix the current imbalance of Airborne units, but Darkflow should at least start with making the drop planes act as every other plane does. Spawn a decent distance from the drop point, and give them the identifier triangles. Maybe even the leading crosshair for AA and planes to shoot them as well. At least give us a WAY to counter them. Another option would be to just cap them, like with tanks and aircraft. 2 or 3 allowed at a time per team. Currently, it's just broken and I feel bad for German players on Normandy.
I don't think they really need the balancing in their core gameplay loop. It's the guns that are really the problem. The American paratroopers should've started with normal Thompson with no drums, with the drum variant being the "assault sqaud" variant. And the British Sqaud should've started with Lancasters and the Vickers being the Assault squad option. The FG42 with grenade launcher will be bother story though...

As an enlisted player that prefers the axis side in the invasion of Normandy, this reminds me of the pain of how many paratroopers I need to deal with. It surprises so many people spent $45 CAD on a paratrooper squad that they only use in 1 campaign.
This was my first experience with using the Normandy event squad right after unlocking it. Paratroopers are now my main class. Even if their default weapons are nerfed, just the fact you can ODST drop anywhere on a moment's notice is *chef's kiss*

All paratroopers should nerf with 10 sec wait for arrive to the map and we can shoot with plane or aa before they arrive at the choosed checkpoint. If som1 shooted the plane and the crews are still alive they automatically spawn to the spawnpoint whithout peckage drop
Despite the hell it's become I still play Axis. I know I'm going to lose but I'm trying to make as much carnage as possible: between 3000 and 6000, the Paratroopers mission is progressing quite quickly and battles are fun. It's like reliving the last hours of WW2, Korea, Indochina or Vietnam...
you kind of have to kill them before/while they land. The issue is if you have 4 players all doing it, you generally need 4 people to kill the enemies as they land lol
No barbed wire, just AP mines and situational awareness, Barnes wire will limit your own capability of harassing the paratroopers and other attackers before they get to the objective, also, as paratroopers can land behind the objective if you out barbed wire there your own team will be incapable of defending it. So just remember, no sandbags or barbed wire blocking shit, situational awareness and AP mines.
Is it just me or are the squads of this event just like the premium ones but better? Also, playing as the soviets after the campaign merge is gonna be real fun if there isn't an event where you can get paras for them...
