They both like to start slow and calculate, and it was funny to see Yan's own style being used against him, while Yan took the role of a fuss fighter going first. Key moment of the fight was the reverse by Yan in the 1st round. Figgy made a stellar take-down super early, which was a huge moral victory against Yan. Could win the round just on that, but really botched it losing the position and failing to capitalize it. Kudos to Yan, though. Deiveison looked unusually sluggish. A bit too passive. But his search for power shots was really cool to observe. Yan was otherwise, a bit too fidgety, which does not suit him, although kinda worked against a style similar to his own. Yan was biting on Figgy's feints hard, which was really concerning. Being able to withstand those damage shots probably was key. Good fight! Would love to see a rematch.

Unfortunately yan isn't a huge finisher he is most likely a decision merchant and that's one of the reasons he doesn't have much of chance against merab, plus he doesn't have elit grappling or submission threats.
