I'm a big fan of Korean dramas, I've seen about 70% of them on Netflix. I have to say Korean male actors do more makeup than the female actors. But their dramas are very entertaining.

Korean dramas are not depicting their real culture though. They are portraying fairy tales. I believe they are actually more backward culturally than us and domestic violence sadly is quite common in Korea as well. May this reality change for all cultures
Yes, they also favour sons over daughters. Men , women both are shown beating up each other pretty violently. Domestic violence is shown in gruesome manner. I hate how they drink so much.
