The first version is my favorite, and I seem to hear a certain East Coast influence. The beat reminded me of "If I Ruled The World" by Nas. Actually, even Pac reminded me of Nas on that beat.
Interesting that this song was omitted from 7 Day Theory but the diss to Nas on Bomb First remained intact even though Pac had said he was going to take out that diss because he and Nas had quashed their beef.
The original sample is Friends by Whodini. Pac was remaking / taking from / sampling hit songs of the 80s at the time. "If I Ruled" was already out tho.
you def threw a curveball because you usually hate R&B choruses so i was kinda shocked that you liked the 3rd the most. the original one has such a dark and rhythm that the 3rd one just doesn't capture. The 3rd one sounds ready for radio and the original gives you real emotion pac put in that song.
I almost always preferred 2pac songs with the updated production. There's always something to be said for an original, but he deserved the upgraded music. He worked too quickly for everyone around him. Producers couldn't keep up, so a lot of his music that was released posthumously was originally recorded over subpar beats, in my opinion.
Great reaction again! I was first introduced to 'F*ck Friendz' because I had bought 'Until the End of Time' when it came out. I heard the other versions later on. I definitely prefer 'F*ck Friendz' as it has the much more enjoyable beat, more of a party song

Hi Brian. Out of all my friends and family, only 2 people watch my videos and that's only occasionally. No one ever asks me questions about it except to ask "Are you still doing that UA-cam thing?" No one is interested in hearing about rap. But that's ok - I do it for myself and by extension - you.

You politely let them know Redman is an honorary member of the Wu and got his start working with EPMD. Then you expand on the relationship with Keith Murray and Def Squad. Lol... am I writing a fun comedy skit? It'll happen. 😁
interestingly i love all the versions, black cotton for example, all the remixes and the original are great. i think pac's voice is magical. the only sad thing is that the original songs are not on music platforms..

Definitely the original versions of loyal to the game and pac's life albums would be amazing. A two-disc album, the first cd is remixes, the second cd is originals. But TASF is managing 2pac's legacy very badly unfortunately.

I don't like R&B choruses by a man on a song by a male MC. Women are allowed.

I tend to agree. Some purists will always choose the OG because "that's the way Pac recorded it". Yeah, but he didn't release it - it wasn't ready.
Remember hearing om thos on the makaveli bootlegs that was dropping in around 97 98 era didn't like the remixes that came after

Even though the album was rushed, I'm not mad at the songs they cut. I think Makaveli flows perfectly, and the cut material isn't exactly my favorite.
