  • Now that the edge is certified its time to "get to know" her... I do have a kind of set routine for when I get a new biggish type plane and that process involves power required to take off and land properly, how it handles timing wise in a roll and loop and how slow we can go before it starts to become unstable and I must say this plane is one of the easier planes to take off and land.... I have it set up with low, medium and high rates and currently I have only flown it in low rates as we will build up to what I call the ideal set point for me...... I also check and fine tune the throttle curve which in itself takes 10-20 flights to dial it in. Also the power to fuel ratio is important because the end point is to know how long the plane can fly at full throttle before running out of fuel.... so its a long tedious journey of pushing the plane and honing my comfort level with the plane till I am happy to take her up, have a nice flight doing loops and rolls and knife edges etc and landing with enough fuel to avoid dead stick landings.... this for me is the fun part of the hobby, taking something you have spent many hours working on to finally get comfortable with it....
