  • I bought the NEW Bazzill USB spinning tool at Joann's a couple of days ago and I was so eager to use it ASAP! Well, I was not very happy with the result. Sadly, it did not work for ME.
    I hope you enjoy my review!

    I don't do those pre-cut flowers, I use quilling strips and make wall art and 3D figures and lots and lots of flowers and the tool works fine with the quilling strips. I'm guessing it has something to do with the way your shapes are cut or the thickness of your paper, probably a little of both. So if you're a quiller, this tool should work fine, if you're twisting these flower shapes then it most likely won't work for you. I'm guessing it was designed for regular quilling.
    It also looks like you're using card stock or thick paper, that seems like it will also play a role. With my Bazzill tool, I got quilling strips, and with those and all my other brands of strips, it works fine for my needs, have you tried it with the quilling strips?

    so my daughter bought me the We R Memory Keepers one. I was having trouble with it and thought of course It was me doing something wrong. so I jumped on UA-cam and saw your tutorial and thought great, there is hope! Everything you were doing, all the issues you had with it is WHY I came looking for hope!
    Stops spinning once a layer or two rolled, no power, just stops! So thank you for proving that I am not insane or inept and it is the TOOL! It is going back to the store tomorrow and will look for the manual one instead! Thank you!

    I had the exact same experience. The motor is not strong enough. Thank you for your video. I'm taking mine back.

    I was so excited when I found mine and I followed your video and I had the exact same problem! So what I did is I took that piece out of it and put it in my drill and it worked perfect!

      I was wondering if it would work in a drill! I have a WEN (like a Dremel) and I was wondering if I could fashion a tip for that since it has variable speed...glad to know it works in a drill.

    This video was extremely helpful! I bought the exact same tool but from We r memory keepers and I had the exact same problem so I’m not crazy! It was $29.99 from Michaels. So disappointed :( I’ll be returning it today.

    I was able to sort of use mine... I had the same problem the flower ends up too loose. I don't have a quilling tool and thought this would work. I have been using the reverse tweezers things to hold and grab it and they sort of work. like you I like to feed it thought and make it tight. I got mine at Michael's, they were out of the hand rolling cricut one you have. I ended getting a USB motorized "We R memory keepers, crafting essentials one" same problem you had. I was able to roll it but mad the motor go really slow with less pressure from my hand so it moved slowly. another speed setting would be nice.

    Same disappointment here :( It just have not enough power to spin a cardstock paper flower. I tried plugging it to regular outlet with adaptor and to the computer via USB - no help.
    BTW, your flowers are beautiful!

    I purchased the Motorized Quilling Tool from Hobby Lobby by Birds Designs. I had the same problem with not enough torque for the paper to roll. In all fairness, I did not try quilling paper and that is what it is meant for, however for card stock flowers it did not work at all. Thank you for the review. I will stick to my drill with a regular quilling tool until I find something better. I was like you and that white piece on the quilling tool was tempting, but not for $30.00. Thanks again for the review.

    I just bought this and thought I was missing something but apparently you cant use card stock. I tried it with my printer paper and it worked beautifully. But will not quill my cardstock. So upsetting. I am going to return it to the store!

    I found the tool to work very well for what I needed it to do. Using quilling paper and making tight rolls and then I let the paper unwind to make petals ; works great for this. I can see that your flowers have more twists and turns then I think this little machine can handle. Thanks for your review.

      @@ModernFlowerCreation I realize this is a year ago, and you are most likely sorted by now, but for other viewers of the video, as she said above, I don't think you got a faulty one, I am very sure that it was meant for quilling paper. It's a lifesaver for those of us doing large wall pieces and even smaller pieces, and we need to roll hundreds of coils.

  • @Pepsi_Please

    Maybe I'll wait for a fat q-con and but it just for the attachments and use them with my Dremel. All the ratings online give this one and the Keepers one 1-3 Stars for paper spinning, but say it works semi okay for Pompoms and tassels. I wonder if you can get just the attachments separate anywhere. The Mem Keepers Official site doesn't even sell them anymore. The same company makes them both. So loose loose. It's so sad. I REALLY wanted this to work.

    I really appreciated the review but it was user error the product works fine you didn’t use the right card stock yours was to 65 lb when quilling you are to use quilling paper designed for the machine if you watch their videos you would see it’s a lite paper . 🤩

      The paper strips showcased in the store worked the same way. They were the same brand and suggested by Bazzill that they were the “ideal paper strips for this machine.” I’m glad you’re having a better experience. My experience was the same as most of the people that bought this machine and were disappointed in the way it worked.

    I posted a comment on a Joanne’s video of this tool. In it, I referenced your video as an example of what I had experienced. I don’t typically post videos so I thought it would do more justice if I shared my experience in words and gave an example with your video.
    I try to be fair in the way I post. So if that’s at all bothersome to you I’ll happy take your video link out of my post. I thought it would be more appropriate if I let you choose. I had a similar experience as you did with the tool. 😢
    This is the link to the video I made a comment on. ua-cam.com/video/gHjLyv6Da5o/v-deo.html
    And this is the comment I made if you’d like to decide if you’re comfortable with me sharing your link. I’ll happily adjust the comment I made if you’re not comfortable with me using your video as an example. 😊 Thanks for trying it. It was nice to know I wasn’t the only one.
    Comment I made as follows;
    I love Joanne’s and I’m not trying to be discouraging but I didn’t like the tool showcased in the video. If it’s not being touched it spins pretty fast and looks as if it’s going to work pretty well. When I support the start of the center of a paper roll or flower it refuses to spin. It seems as if the tool just doesn’t have the motor strength to take any kind of tension. There’s another UA-camr that shows her experience. Mine was the same so I’ll link it here. ua-cam.com/video/_KMTVPjX7Wo/v-deo.html
    I was hoping it was just my user error so I looked for a video to learn a better technique. Sadly, it’s the only video coming up aside from Joanne’s video. You can kind of see it happening in the Joanne’s video too. It just cuts away from the scallop cut paper to the smooth cut paper a little quick so it seems like that might be the way the tool is. It’s just not what I needed for my projects. Good crafternoon friends 🥳 ~Sheeara, Alaska

      to loosen fibers, rub your finger nail, pencil or table edge down the paper first

    • @leslieboyette2061
      @leslieboyette2061 2 роки тому

      btw, I do not own this particular tool, but the card stock is too heavy for the tork, so that's why I suggest to soften fibers or use thinner paper.. Softening the fibers also help with rolling on non electric tool Hope that works better for you.

  • @MsLouisVee
    @MsLouisVee 3 роки тому

    First off what I see is your paperwhite it is way too heavy for quilling or making Flowers with this tool. you might have better luck if you change to a lighter weight paper
