I hate it when something this good ends. As always the cinematography is a work of art -- the dark tones, the sunset, the sky of clouds, the dolphins. The whole piece is so tactile, like you're there. I really was thinking you might launch something though 😅 Glad you found that hidden cove with no one there too 😅 Thanks for the dose of beauty along with some education.
All those frustrations with the boat, all those problems with the boat... it's not you, it's not the boat, it's the lifestyle. If they didn't happen to you, it's because you never left the dock. It makes the reward that much sweeter! Hope to bump into you in an anchorage some day 🤙
Loved seeing you with your lady. It put you in a completely different context and made you more of a regular ocean dude instead of a bro with super human surf skills. More family stuff would be 🔥.
I really like these sailing videos where you make everyone aware and dream of the beautiful world we live in. Everytime beautifully shot and put together so that we all can experience that feeling of freedom through the video. Great job man! Please Keep em coming!
Hey John John, Riley Whitelum and Bert Kreischer were talking about having you and your Bro join them on a transpac, that's what brought me here. Nice video, like the GunBoat! Hope you guys do a bunch more sailing - head down to Tahiti and ride some waves at Teahupo'o. That would make a nice series of videos!
this instantly felt like I was watching a Wes Anderson movie or like.. a sailing version of Lost in Translation (vibe-wise). between the cinematography, the music, and the editing, these videos are works of art. & I absolutely LOVED that this had Lauryn in it. WE WANT MOOOAAAARRR
I loved watching Vela 1-4 and was excited to see this video available. The footage was beautiful and the editing was nicely done. I love our little island and look forward to seeing your next adventure. I would love to come see the boat one day.
Ya John! My family and I are on the same mission right now, cutting our teeth in the Channel Islands of California. Childhood dream of surfing from my own sailboat is being realized! Hope to share some waves with you one day, somewhere...
Amazing came back from surfing to find this uploaded love the cat vlogs been wondering where you been at j.j can see you doing a epic trip on the cat awesome bit of kit 🤙🏻
I learned to sail in KBay. Been sailing it ever since. Also made the trip to town and back a few times. Real rough going around Kokohead Only have a 25fter though. Beautiful vessel you got yourself
Something I've always wanted to know.. can sail boats sail into oncoming wind without using an engine? Like can you direct the sails to do so? Awesome video JJ! Love to see more out of your channel!
If you try to sail directly into the wind the sails will stall. It's called "being in irons." A high performance cat like this with deep daggerboards could possibly sail closer than 45 degrees to the wind and a racing monohull a little more.
@@gixxer6211 You're welcome. It is one helluva a boat John has there. Gunn Boat is full carbon build so is incredibly light. He could cruise anywhere in the world with that cat and successfully race it too.
@@joeblow1942 Yeah I love John's boat.. it's a great size. Looks to be perfect for the Hawaiian islands, cruising around with all your friends.. be a blast. That Palmyra series was amazing. If I lived near the ocean I'd for sure have something similar.
@@gixxer6211 Gunboats are rare on the used market. He probably spent close to a million on that cat. www.gunboat.com/series/gunboat48/#1491933922852-c1d325d2-b870
I Like your videos. I wish you all the best and keep sending it. Would be cool If you Make a little edit from your next surftrip. your always an Inspiration to me.

A boat that can do 5 knots in only 5 knots of wind is pretty dang awesome.

Bust Out Another Thousand.
Law of tonnage
Learning how to sail whilst captaining a Gunboat is like learning how to drive for the first time in a Lamborghini Countach..... but way cooler.
Solid
Music credits?
Can you list the music used as well? Super cool series, keep them coming!
