No Prep Turbo LS 3rd Gen Camaro! Long Travel and Bump Steer Setup! Beautiful built machine!

- Another day another race car alignment here in the shop, another long travel front suspension alignment with a bump steer kit. If anyone had ANY doubt what the future of racing looks like, it's with the nose of the car 6 to 7 inches up running down the track on tippy toes! But when you're running on your toes you've got to get it right, so let's get this thing set up!
Custom suspension / Custom Alignment work is the same thing as a standard alignment, just totally different because you don't get the cheat sheet on the screen telling you exactly what to do, and what numbers to hit. These types of jobs take time and attention to detail to get right, something most shops either won't or can't do. In the same time we spend getting one of these cars set up a "normal" shop could be knocking out a brake job and making considerably more money. But we don't do this for the money, we do this because we love it, and because we want to make sure each and every racer around us is as safe and properly set up as possible.
With this 3rd Gen Camaro we are starting with a VERY well built machine that just needs some finishing touches and tweaks. With the long travel front shocks, tubular front end, and bump steer kit we can dial in just about exactly what we want to see. There's never a set process for this stuff, it's never the same exact answer twice, every build has it's differences. But in the end, it's another job complete, another race car drastically improved and safer.
We look forward to the feedback once he gets out and makes some passes to see how the changes work for him! Remember guys, the fastest point between the starting line and the finish line, is a straight line!
"can't let it leave my shop like that" That sir is worth more to a customer than you may ever know hat's off to you!
We take quality and honesty VERY seriously especially when it comes to racecar stuff, gotta do it right because doing it wrong can end up costing a life.
Wish you were closer to me
Load your stuff and come on up! 😀

6.5 hours is a ride!
*Props to the builder who did an amazing job 💯*
i like everthing you do !!
Love the vids Rich
Thanks Doug! This is shaping up to a busy awesome year, keep watchin!
Nice work
I think when you straightened out the rear end, You helped keep his car coming off the line, as far as not veering left or right. Squaring up his car was his biggest problem.
Plus the steering wasn't centered.
Started watching th channel because of the Capri then saw the alignment videos. As an alignment guy myself the only thing i can say is bravo.
Id love to know who built that car. It is spot on one of the cleanest thought out builds ive seen. Lots of time n money spent right.
Gentleman in his 30s built it in his garage at home. Grew up racing and around race cars and CLEARLY learned a thing or two about how to do it right!
Great fbody content. Had to giggle on the thrust angle comment.
That car looks like it was built right!! Well done Rich!!
It was VERY nicely done, had a few small challenges to overcome but other than those it's AWESOME
@@LucoreAuto Nothing Rich can`t fix!!
That brings back many memories, when I use to help set up Indy cars 45 years ago. Nicely done again 👏🏻👏🏻
Quality workmanship
Just doing things the way we think they should be done Robert!
Custom work is what you do Rich he should be really happy
A lot of what we do, that's what it takes. Sometimes it's easy in and out stuff but ok this kind of thing.. hardly ever. We're looking forward to hearing some feedback!
Another great job by Rich
Thank you, gotta do the best we can every time. One missed setup and end very very badly.
Yeah man
That stainless work was clean
Well put together cammer
For SURE very impressed with this build front to back. A few small things to address but overall freaking GREAT machine
@LucoreAuto think you're right on that OE bracket at the steer gear
Swaybar manufacturer had to have come across it during R&D you'd think
But I don't have a degree in mechanical engineering. Haha
Love the fact you do your sweeps at the steering wheel. That’s the best way. It does a better alignment. Takes the entire steering system into the calibration. That’s how I learn how to do it from my hunter rep. 👍🏼
Do it right, do it once! Well any of these kinds of alignments we sweep probably 5-6 times or more to make sure we are getting true repeatable results.
Sounds like you are doing it the right way!
This is why I watch you and would drive to Ohio from Va to have you do your magic. I have a pretty good shop I use for the things I can't or won't do myself. I haven't gotten to talk to the owner except to argue several years ago about a 3rd brake light on a camper shell. Still don't have an inspection sticker!
The attention to detail Rich is what separates you from just the good mechanics and make you a great one.
Cool 😎 . Can’t go fast if you can’t go straight . Awesome job !
You got it! Fastest way between the start line and the finish line is a STRAIGHT line 👍
🎉🎉 QUALITY WORK 🎉🎉😊
That's what we always strive for Freddie!
Your the best. On making these race cars go straight! Thank you Rich for sharing! 👊👍❤️
Thanks Terry, we do a lot of it so we stay in practice! Gotta keep all these guys as safe as we can!
Just curious , if " toe n go " is enough for 1/8 mile cars ?? Meaning , money or lack of for camber kits or shims ( if applicable )
Ohhhh what a question to ask. In OUR world? No. If you are talking a car that's more what we would consider a "true" street car, say something that runs higher than 11s in a quarter... maybe. Any car that's getting a lot of front end lift or pulling the tires, it's gotta be right or you can get into serious trouble quickly. Even something as simple as having the sides mismatched with cross caster or different lift/droop heights can make a car dart dangerously.
At some speeds that's driver correctable in most cases, but the less time you spend steering left and right the more time you are going straight down the track.
If someone is going to cost cut, we would prefer it be on Power mods not safety/stability mods.
Great question though, hope our answer makes sense!
@@LucoreAuto Yes sir..! I'm attending Hunter Training , in May and I've been doing alignments for some time ( OJT ) but a dear friend who is a national event winner an multi champion at US90 drag way aske me to align his car an I was curious ...!! Thanks for passing your knowledge. It's isn't takn lightly
🎉🎉 IT'S BEEN A PLEASURE RICH THUMBS 👍 AND GOD BLESS ALL 🎉🎉
Oh wow ur in ohio nice im up in Cleveland
no doubt with the toe in,,thanks, keep the videos coming.i enjoy them
You keep watching we'll keep sharing! Gotta keep that toe as calm and collected as we can and NOT go from in to out or it can really change how the car handles through extension.
If it’s not good good to the back. Pan hard throws car around on accel and deceleration. He may have to switch to a watts or a wishbone.
20:44 Stupid Gravity!
Love the 3rd Gen content!
my my my,pulls left eats front tires o n outside
Pulls... everywhere honestly. According the the owner it was a hunter and with the "challenges" we found can totally believe that.
Nice job Rich as always!! You know your stuff! Really enjoy your videos
Thanks guys really appreciate you always supporting us and what we do! We've been around the block a time or two and learned a thing or two!
Did you just set the pinion angle by putting an angle finder on the u joint cap and set that at -3? I thought the -3 is in reference to the drivetrain such as the motor centerline. Can you explain how you did that please?
Another awesome video from Lucore! Quality workmanship! 👍👍
Give us an update on how he feels about it, when he lets you know please.
SUGGESTION = a PULL-OVER HOODIE in 2 X for CHURCH of BAD Decisions 🙂
