Thank you for your video on the Bernina 930. If you have a desire to have a 930 in a needle down always position you can have the Bernina technician set it so that it always ends needle down. I asked my technician to do that on my 930 and absolutely love that feature. I am a garment sewist and find it very helpful.
I inherited this machine from my grandmother. She purchased it in June of 1984. I don't know how to sew yet, but I am in the process of learning. This was an incredibly helpful video for learning about all the capabilities of this machine. Thank you for your time.
BTW Loved your video. Very detailed and helpful, if I watched it when I first started out hahahaha But I learned a lot. Like in the feet case, the brown felt thing, for the life of me, could not figure out what it was. I was using it to clean or shine the bottom of the feet. HAHAHAHAHA PIN CUSHION OMG I feel like a giant dork. And wow, the peddle trick. WHAT!?!? Can’t wait to do that tomorrow morning. My machine is my mother’s. I have been caring for her and have ventured into her sewing room. It something I always watched my mother do, and I admired about her talent. I just dove in and started teaching myself..I am hoping my mother gets well enough so she can get in there and teach me her tricks as well.
I love my Bernina 930 Record! I inherited it from my granny and according to her records she purchased it in December 1983. But I actually learned to sew on my mom’s Bernina 1630 when I was a grade-schooler. It was a very nice machine and certainly one that I was very excited about when she purchased it in 1995. Sadly, it succumbed to trackball issues years ago, but my 930 continues to joyfully sew.🙂
Thanks so much for this great review of the Vintage 930. My Bernina service tech said that the 930 has more power and is more of a workhorse than the 830. I just bought a Vintage 830, but now I’m wondering if I should go for the 930. Since you have both, of you had to choose which would it be? Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this video. It is so helpful for understanding this machine. Would you consider doing a tour/demo of the presser feet that come with the machine? Thanks again! Love your videos!
Thank you so much for these thorough video reviews - researching vintage machines is extremely hard and these videos are so helpful. I'm wondering if I could get some advice - I am looking to get a mechanical machine as an upgrade from my beginner machine. I am moving into more advanced garment sewing and plan to finally get into quilting. It seems like these mechanical machines are perfect for my needs as they can handle pretty much any fabric beautifully and are incredibly durable. At the moment I am really leaning towards a Bernina, and I'm wondering which you'd recommend - and 830 or 930, an why?? Originally I wanted a 730 for that beautiful avocado color but your 830 video sold me on a newer model.
Thank you for this information Jeremy. :) I'm looking for the video you did on Bernina old style feet and I'm not finding it. Was I mistaken thinking I heard you mention one? Thank you for any help you can provide. Your videos are my favorites.
I have a 930 I acquired from a person who is not able to sew any more. It has a presser foot lifter problem. It hangs up and hits something solid inside. I watched a couple really detailed UA-cam videos on how to get inside to take a look. However my machine does not have screws on the front plate where the light switch is like the ones in the videos. I lubricated the machine according to instructions and cleaned out the lint which was minor. It's very clean inside. Is there another way to get that plate off. I can send photos to you. How would I go about sending those. Don't tell me to take it to the dealer..I'm on social security income and cannot afford to pay the huge amount they are quoting me.
Great review and very helpful as I try to decide if I want one. And I do! I am wondering if you have one of the strictly mechanical ones too? A 1008 I think. And what do you think of them?
@@michaelc5378 the only difference I know of between the blue and brown versions are that some of the blue models had the heel tap function like the later 930’s. Regarding the motor being as powerful as that in the 830 Record I’m going to say yes. I’m not a sewing machine tech but I can safely say my 910 will sew anything my 830 Record does.
Would it be possible to direct message me a picture of the knee lift assembly under the machine. Mine has loosened and I need to reassemble it. Thank you!

I have to Ditto about Berninas starting obsessions. It started mine about 4 months ago, and sewing has now gotten my soul.
Great video, Jeremy! Thank you. I’ve just started using my MIL’s 932 and need to learn a lot. Thanks again.
Great Review Jeremy! Thanks for posting
Thank you so much. I just picked mine up yesterday. This was very very helpful.

Thank you for an outstanding demo on the 930. Is this machine available in South Africa?
I actually have a 26 (86) bought in 1987. Love this machine!
That was brilliant. Sew much great information. Thank you :-)

Sara Seagrist thank you! If I had to choose one over the other I think I’d choose the 930. It’s so smooth and powerful and a true delight to use.
I have a Bernina Sport 801.
Do you have video on that machine? ♡

Hi. The straight stitch doesn't lool straight, is that correct?
Does this machine have the half-speed setting on the power switch? My 1020 has it and I can't live without it.
Yes it has a half speed setting.
Hi Jeromy how do I hem a polyester shirt with a twin stretch needle?
Can you video using twin needle stitching. Plus talk a little faster
Best machine ever made

Yes I have a 1008. I’ll be doing a review of mine soon. The 1008 is a fantastic machine.
Do u know if the 910 also does 3 step zigzag?
I have a 910 and it doesn’t have a 3 step zig-zag
@@jeremydickerson8243 I noticed there’s a brown and a blue 910. Any differences there? Also, is the motor more powerful than an 830?

Which record model do you like the best?

How to make button hole with this machine? Do you need presser foot?
You will the need the buttonhole foot. It has two narrow groves on the bottom of the foot. I’ll do a video shortly.
I had to hit subscribe so I could be sub #900 🎉🤗
I ❤ Berninas tho I have a 1010 🤗
