I see a lot of people asking about the stealth potential with the Crossbow and it turns out, firing the crossbow will disable your Ghost perk, just like suppressors.
Not gonna lie, I was really hoping there would be a "Lightning Bolt" attachment that turns the bolts into mini shock-sticks. Definitely wouldn't be better than explosive/thermite bolts but would be fun to annoy people with just like gas bolts
Honestly, just make every grenade (lethal and tactical) an attachment bolt for the crossbow. It still won't be good, but it would be funny. Actually, flashbang bolts might be powerful
Still got a 1 shot in Invasion (on a player) at about 180 meters out when going for longshots with it. That was the furthest out I went for a kill and actually hit the person I was attempting to kill.
Fun fact: hitting someone in the thighs has a high chance of killing them in a few minutes due to the larg amountbof blood vessels in that area. (Sorry if my english is bad, it is my third language)
Crossbow was so fun in Warzone 1 when you could down somebody with the shot and then the explosion would finish them off while downed. Great for keeping pesky rooftop campers from getting revived.
@@hobojoe9717 Nope. It's a 2-shot down, unless you hit the head/neck with an explsoive bolt. It no longer full kills like in WZ1 as well. They nerfed our baby into the ground.
One thing I love about MW2019 and now MW2022 is how they treat the Crossbow like just another "gun" in the game instead of a special weapon. I think the only other CoD that did this was Blops 3 with that little crossbow pistol.
Easily a fun weapon to use! Just pure utter fun. If you wanna be competitive with it though I'd go with using it as a utility. Those bolts aren't detectable by Trophy Systems iirc and can potentially be used against players really using that utility. It can easily be used as a team-play tool to squish up enemies for your teammates to go in if there's an enemy trophy system active.
This is exactly what I used it for, I have a Ninja class where I use this to one shot the trophy system, and in headquarters I use gas bolts if the enemies have a habit of clustering up. It's a great alternative if you hate using the riot shield but still want to go melee only.
I love that thing! Somehow I´m way better with it than with the other marksman rifles even though I thought I´d struggle with it. Used it exactly the same way as your aggression build after unlocking all attachments to get it to gold and platinum yesterday. Seems you already left an impact on me. Really appreciate your guides

I recommend using the SZ SRO-7 optic, ignore the red dot and use the pointy black line. So far it’s worked pretty accurately at all effective ranges for me.
The explosive bolts are great against shielded players. You have a big target to hit. Even if it hits the shield behind their backs, is a one shot kill after it explodes. Strangely, it registers as a headshot, probably a bug.
This is my favorite part of the crossbow. Finally a reliable way to take out shield players without sacrificing yourself in S+D. So many times I stick them with a Semtex and they kill me with a throwing knife before it detonates. It can still happen with this but now it's far easier to hit the shield from farther away and it's easier to dodge the knife since I don't get stuck in the grenade animations. If the shield player tries the shotgun or rpg, good aim to the upper body and they'll die first in many cases
As a shielder can confirm it’s the best counter and it should be. No complaints with the weapon. But think it’s a little unfair that a trophy system doesn’t destroy the explosive or thermite tip. It should destroy it but let the regular bolt attached keep going
In Ground War i've been using a build similar to the second one shown but I use an under barrel instead of stock n I use a SZ thermal scope to pick players in smoke since I run the 2 tactical perk with smoke grenades
Got a few times when thermite bolts, don't kill the enemy even on direct hit, don't what it was conection problem or EOMM kicking in. Saved at least one footage.
If you use the cable that increases accuracy but decreases velocity and tune it for max velocity (or use a bolt) the 6x acog with the 50m marker is perfect and accurately represents your bolt drop making it easy to use at long range

I swore this was the case, but the target dummies align with what Ace said so I chalked it up to the -velocity and vowed to test it again tonight with a lot of +velocity.
Adding to this, one more addition: Quick Fix can outheal the damage from thermites, so if you trade with someone or they just happen to kill someone else you won't get a kill. They'll just run around on fire for a few seconds and then be fine. This is really funny, but also bad. I haven't had a chance to find out specifically but maybe stims and probably battle rage could also do this.
I wonder if the momenti isn't actually helping with accuracy directly, so much as the spread increases over flight time, and by having more velocity it means at a given distance it has less time for the spread to grow.
I know -bolt accuracy is waaay worse without magnification and literally indistinguishable with mega magnification... So it's already jacked up, wouldn't surprise me if it was jacked up in other ways. Adding to this, it can take down the UAV and CUAV in one bolt if you aim it right, the reload speed and mobility are much better than launchers like the Carl Gustav and Verba, and the carriable ammo reserve is very good if you're using a munitions box or grabbing the ammo pick-ups around the map. I have tested all these bold on the crossbow with my brother and the thermite and explosive bolt are good for kill people behind their riot shield. The best bolt between these two is the explosive bolt, because the thermite bolt do a lot of damage on the player behind his shield but not enough to kill him and letting him 1% of HP.

I would say the crossbow def. feels better in MW2 MP since u can tune the attachments and the gameplay is a bit slower so hitting shots will be much easier and less punishing
Well this explains why it felt like people were getting ridiculously easy kills on me with the crossbow. All you gotta do is point it the general direction of the chest and you've got yourself a kill even out to ranges where you'd think there'd be some drop off
What I’ve found is on Shipment, if I miss a shot near an opponent, just start hitting the melee button instead of reloading. The Crossbow is a fantastic melee weapon.
Same. I was testing attachment and optic combos in the firing range, and found a nice bob-and-weave rhythm that translated well to the game. Few things are as fun as frustrating enemies with silent fury.
I'd love if they made the Crossbow into a utility weapon like Capitao's from Military Overwatch (Rainbow Six Seige). Like running Overkill and having it as a Secondary with Flashbang, Incendiary, Smoke, or Tear Gas arrows for utility. It already has the Thermite so it's possible.
I absolutely LOVE the crossbow. I’m half way to unlocking the last calling card and dig the death come the most. This isn’t gonna get stale for a while for me…
In a match of snd I had to hit a riot shield 3 times with the thermite tips at range..when he was closer it was a 1 hit..thought that was interesting. The explosive tips always a 1 shot but it kills the riot shielder a second before the bolt explodes.
Imagine a marker bolt in wz where if you land the shot (very bad velocity/drop) no damage is done but the enemy is notified and they can either leave it in while being pinged on the minimap every 5 seconds or take 5 seconds to rip it out. something different.
Fun fact: the Crossbow is compatible with the Anti-Armor field upgrade. Paired with the Brightblaze bolts, it takes as few as 4 shots to kill a Wheelson.
Agree with your conclusion, Ace. Fun, variety weapon. Cool for a change of pace or a challenge. I don’t play warzone, but I imagine there’s plenty of opportunities for some cool clips
me too , its a fun different weapon to use but , imo if you want to use a one shot weapon your probably just better using the spr or sab since the crossbow is just a slower version of an actual marksman rifle that takes ages to reload
I'm leveling the crossbow in MW3 (I didn't play MW2) right now, because there is a event mission that can be done with the crossbow and that weapon is lots of fun🙃
Question: which bolts do other players see? For example, from the side? I have a feeling that standard bolt is invisible but thermite bolt other players can see.
They should just add a ballistic knife to this game and make it like bo4 where you actually get attachments for it. It would be so much fun to use and it’s something different in an otherwise bland game.
Dont forget! Using the explosive arrows on a riot shield are a guaranteed 1 hit kill even with bomb squad! I use this as a secondary with fast hands if I ever have a riot shield on the enemy team!
Bomb squad is busted and has been for months. Doesn't even block the bouncing betty (despite what Ace's private match testing shows). So wouldn't surprise me it also doesn't block these
Does firing it cause you to show up on the compass (or mini-map with uav up)? Only asking because crossbows in most other CoDs weren't considered silent/suppressed as far as the game was concerned.
So I think I know what happened with the SO Momenti arms' accuracy. I'm still gathering data, but during my initial attachment testing, the SO Momenti arms did not affect accuracy at 50m and 95m, but gave me a 25%~ velocity increase at 50m. My shot grouping was almost identical compared to the default. Keep in mind, the crossbow RNG acts in a "cone" from where you fire. Perhaps the large velocity boost functionally "moved" the cone forward, so the bolt did not have enough time to fly astray at 25m, compared to the other attachments (the 28-strand significantly increases this cone shape). One more thing I would like to ask about is damage. How did you do you damage testing for the arms? I've done a lot of testing and I found that lower arm hits do not 1-hit down, and upper arm hits inconsistently 1-hit down. By any chance, did another limb or torso appear behind the limb you were testing? I found that if the arm is in front of the torso, you will get a torso hit and not a limb hit (damage calculation is drawn in a line for limbs, and it takes the higher of the two). Good job on the testing, glad to see you covered the crossbow. -The Crossbow Expert, RPSpartan
Since you've shown you can do the work, please look into bolt accuracy with different magnification. I can't stack enough -bolt accuracy to miss a headshot on the far dummy with an 11x optic... But it'll easily miss the entire dummy by a mile with a red dot. Maybe if enough of us bring it up people will become aware of it: if you want tight groups at distance with the crossbow, you need magnification
@@DWalter.27 lol yes, Im covering that later today in a guide. I discovered it by accident. I actually found your comment down below and was happy someone else found out too 🎯❤️
Well after getting Orion for the crossbow a couple days ago, I can say I found the Momenti stacked with the 28-strand (so tuned towards bullet velocity and aiming stability) tends to be really consistent with getting kills at range. I also use the commando foregrip, a red dot and a rear grip (all tuned to ads/sprint out). I haven't had any issues with hitting moving targets at range, as long as you lead 1m or so ahead of targets at 30/40m
In DMZ, those brightblaze bolts are devastating. I took out a commander helo last night with a crossbow. Some guys decided to try to ambush our truck while on a 4 wheeler so I shot a single bolt and hit them. Dropped 4 people that were piled onto that thing. Any time a vehicle wants to mess with us, thermite bolts. They are really effective, but unfortunately hitting a bot with a thermite round is not very stealthy. Also use the bipod grip for stealth kills. Steadies it a lot so you can neglect aiming stability.
Not meta but I loved getting Orion using it, I also now have a way to take out Vtols and shield users on Shipment without sacrificing my molotovs or nades
I am so glad this exists to get rid of those shield people. Not only that, but if you equip dragon’s breath ammo on the KV shotgun, it works nicely against shields, just an FYI
Still got a 1 shot in Invasion (on a player) at about 180 meters out when going for longshots with it. That was the furthest out I went for a kill and actually hit the person I was attempting to kill.
Maybe it just doesn’t fit the way I play but after working hard to unlock the crossbow it feels a bit underwhelming. Even with fast hands it takes just a little too long to reload and has cost me gun fights cuz once you’re in the reload animation at a certain point it won’t let you throw your lethal
Really wish this gun guide was out the day the crossbow came out. It was fun to use till I started doing longshots... ngl I kinda got triggered going for longshots with it. I didn't know if I wanted velocity or accuracy
Ace the bolt accuracy is inexplicably tied to optic zoom! Like ridiculously so! I tested it last night in the firing range at the far target, and we're talking consistent headshots with an 11x vs hitting 10' to the side with a red dot depending on the -bolt accuracy (and no it's not stability or imprecision with the dot, it's WAY worse than that, test it)
Well, yes and no. I'm releasing a video on this. It's that accuracy bonuses/penalties are applied to Optics of "Very Small Scope Glint" of lower, and Optics of "Small Scope Glint" or higher (usually scopes) experience 100% accuracy. No bonuses or Penalties are applied. It's weird, I know. I found it out by accident during my testing lol
@@RPSpartan117 you're awesome! Subbed so I can see the video when it drops Idk what glint it has, but the ACOG with RMR on top and green chevron + elevation dots was definetly inaccurate for me. As was the Eotech + thermal magnifier (sorry, idk what their fake in game names are)
I tried the one shot range out to 135m and it's still the same as long as you can hit them Also thermite bolt used to bounce off riot shields before it actually came out and while they did fix that to an extent, if you stick a bomb squad player's shield they will survive I fucking love crossbows :)
The explosive bolts make it so arm shots aren’t lethal on initial impact, much like leg shots. :( I’d be interested to know what exactly the lethal range of the explosion of the bolt is if you shoot a surface near a player.

What I’ve found is on Shipment, if I miss a shot near an opponent, just start hitting the melee button instead of reloading.
The Crossbow is a fantastic melee weapon.
Does the bolts affect the mini map signature?
I love the crossbow! Grinded to gold in one day! ❤ thanks for the great video!
I had fun leveling this gun up; taught me how to use cover more effectively when i miss in a fight :-\
Same. I was testing attachment and optic combos in the firing range, and found a nice bob-and-weave rhythm that translated well to the game. Few things are as fun as frustrating enemies with silent fury.
Love the crossbow, changes how you play and i don't mind dying if i get some good shots off
I remember Ace did a gun guild for the crossbow in mw19 🔥 and that's how I found this channel haha ⏰ flies
I enjoy it, not much of a marksman rifle guy but I'll pick this up and use it
I got this gold the day I got it after the challenge unlock. Was so much fun! I put the caustic bolts on to troll for a while too
I absolutely LOVE the crossbow. I’m half way to unlocking the last calling card and dig the death come the most. This isn’t gonna get stale for a while for me…
Orion Crossbow looks so cool ngl!😍
In a match of snd I had to hit a riot shield 3 times with the thermite tips at range..when he was closer it was a 1 hit..thought that was interesting. The explosive tips always a 1 shot but it kills the riot shielder a second before the bolt explodes.
Imagine a marker bolt in wz where if you land the shot (very bad velocity/drop) no damage is done but the enemy is notified and they can either leave it in while being pinged on the minimap every 5 seconds or take 5 seconds to rip it out. something different.
I second this
If it worked like how the scanner grenade does then that could be pretty useful I like that idea
If you’re gonna use a slow weapon and take the time to line it up, you might as well kill them. No use for marker bolt
Fun fact: the Crossbow is compatible with the Anti-Armor field upgrade. Paired with the Brightblaze bolts, it takes as few as 4 shots to kill a Wheelson.
No matter how niche the weapon is, it's fun as hell to use and a great weapon to use when styling on people
Does it show you on the uav when firing? You should test this with and without ghost on
Agree with your conclusion, Ace.
Using fast hands or quickdraw on pistol grips are necessary when using this btw
I'm leveling the crossbow in MW3 (I didn't play MW2) right now, because there is a event mission that can be done with the crossbow and that weapon is lots of fun🙃
Hi Ace,
Is there a difference in performance between the knife and the swords?
Pure fun. It’s all I use now.
Question: which bolts do other players see? For example, from the side? I have a feeling that standard bolt is invisible but thermite bolt other players can see.
Will you do a Gun Guide on the Basilisk?
They should just add a ballistic knife to this game and make it like bo4 where you actually get attachments for it. It would be so much fun to use and it’s something different in an otherwise bland game.
Dont forget! Using the explosive arrows on a riot shield are a guaranteed 1 hit kill even with bomb squad!
I use this as a secondary with fast hands if I ever have a riot shield on the enemy team!
Bomb squad is busted and has been for months. Doesn't even block the bouncing betty (despite what Ace's private match testing shows). So wouldn't surprise me it also doesn't block these
The explosive rounds one shot in dmz with this thing if you hit above the legs
Does firing it cause you to show up on the compass (or mini-map with uav up)? Only asking because crossbows in most other CoDs weren't considered silent/suppressed as far as the game was concerned.
My question, too. Maybe Ace could post a pinned comment or something about this
Crossbows have always been one of the most fun guns in any games they’re in
So I think I know what happened with the SO Momenti arms' accuracy.

Is the crossbow silent / stealthy or do you still show up on the mini map when firing?
Not meta but I loved getting Orion using it, I also now have a way to take out Vtols and shield users on Shipment without sacrificing my molotovs or nades
I am so glad this exists to get rid of those shield people. Not only that, but if you equip dragon’s breath ammo on the KV shotgun, it works nicely against shields, just an FYI
Reckon the gas tips will be good for completing the double kill camo challenge?
Games like this always need a meme weapon and the crossbow is that weapon. now my silent loadout is ready to rock again!
Still got a 1 shot in Invasion (on a player) at about 180 meters out when going for longshots with it. That was the furthest out I went for a kill and actually hit the person I was attempting to kill.
@TheXclusiveAce Any idea on MW3? Possible update video?
No crossbow past 4 years was more fun than CW Crossbow. Cold war crossbow was godlike and so fun.
That hipfire and movement speed was so great
Maybe it just doesn’t fit the way I play but after working hard to unlock the crossbow it feels a bit underwhelming. Even with fast hands it takes just a little too long to reload and has cost me gun fights cuz once you’re in the reload animation at a certain point it won’t let you throw your lethal
I’ve melee killed more people with it after missing than anything else
This was extremely painful to grind until I used fast hands and the explosive bolts. Very useful for dealing with trophy campers on shipment
What's more important from the crossbow accuracy or bolt velocity or both?
lol LOVE the caustic bolts. its fun to annoy other players
I wish we had more weapons like this that radically depart from the norm of firearms.
@TheXclusiveAce I can confirm, I got a one-shot in DMZ over 175 meters
Against an enemy player or AI?
@@jonathanwilson1539 player, prob gonna put it in the intro of my next vid
Really wish this gun guide was out the day the crossbow came out. It was fun to use till I started doing longshots... ngl I kinda got triggered going for longshots with it. I didn't know if I wanted velocity or accuracy
I think hit boxes in general should have the thigh do more damage than the forearm. Maybe they don't have passthrough like battlefield 4 added.
First like and view buddy! Keep up the amazing work 🙌🏼
Ace the bolt accuracy is inexplicably tied to optic zoom!
Subbed so I can see the video when it drops
Idk what glint it has, but the ACOG with RMR on top and green chevron + elevation dots was definetly inaccurate for me. As was the Eotech + thermal magnifier (sorry, idk what their fake in game names are)
I tried the one shot range out to 135m and it's still the same as long as you can hit them
Also thermite bolt used to bounce off riot shields before it actually came out and while they did fix that to an extent, if you stick a bomb squad player's shield they will survive
I fucking love crossbows :)
The explosive bolts make it so arm shots aren’t lethal on initial impact, much like leg shots. :(
I’d be interested to know what exactly the lethal range of the explosion of the bolt is if you shoot a surface near a player.
I love it just like I loved it in 2019. It’s so satisfying when you get a kill on someone with the crossbow especially if it’s a real long shot on Tariq village
How does it interact with UAVs and the ghost perk?
It deactivates ghost like suppressors. Very dumb
@@emwols wow that blows
I really wish ACE would cover more facts and statistics relating to warzone and dmz instead of mostly multiplayer. His info is so useful that it would be so beneficial as a warzone player.
He has no interest in borezone
There should be a small one spot kill spot on the Achilles heel
what about vs shields?
