Love, love, loved the video and loved seeing your speedometer so many times in the video. You are a very good rider. Praying for your continued safety.
i hate water too, damn stuff hahahaha - that said the 500 exc is a super durable bike and has no issues when drowned, follow the right procedure and bam - good to go , this is why we own them 🙂. If you ever hydralock you know what to do right? remove plug and air filter, get it up vertical, get in 6th gear and rock the bas7ard fwd and back in gear and back and back until the water all spews out, then turn it over with plug out and and you're good, there is some thing in the engine i forget what it's called but there is something to protect it that not many bike shave. Get an oil change if you are even slightly worried and use some shi77y stuff to flush through a couple of times...Be interested to know once the trip is over the amount of miles you completed, the bike run down , how fuel and oil quality etc has been over this journey
My friend this is super helpful! I’ve seen videos of it done, but never done it myself or been on a ride where a friend did it. So it’s still scary to me. But thank you for taking the time to write this all out! It’s very helpful and looks like some other people appreciated it as well!
What a trip, that even looked steep on a GoPro. We are also grateful for you sharing your adventure. Everyone we have shared your channel with feels the same. Cheers Landon.
You have the best attitude about life! What could have been a trip-ending disaster turns out to be just another hurdle in life to overcome and not get stuck on. Thanks again Landon for the amazing video!
Oh man you got super lucky when you fell into the water! There was very minimal water that got in and the heat from the motor evaporated what little was in there.
A little water in the oil wont kill it. The best thing to do if you can't change the oil is ride it and get the engine nice and hot for a while. It will burn off the moisture. The water got into the bottom end through the crankcase breather tube. Its that little hole in the bottom of the air box. When the engine is hot and hits the cold water it will suck it in like a straw.
Yeahh that’s what seems like it happened. It just totally cleaned up that oil from the ride. Really cool knowledgeable information thanks! It’s fun to hear it written out like that
one channel i follow of hard core adventure riders showed that the best way to deal with that situation would be to get the front wheel as high as possible and crank her up , deaining the water out of the tailpipe ( then clean and dry air box squeezing out the water in filter ) these were very experienced riders ( IM not ) but it worked very well fot them. hupe this may help you in the future.
"I'm not super experienced...." as he narrates his thoughts about the water crossing while navigating a nasty technical down hill section without engine braking..........
Soooo glad you didn't end up taking on much water! I'd hate to see anything nad happen to you or your bike. Also glad you were able to get through Honduras before Sara hit. I'm not sure how far in advance you film, but i hope the storm doesn't affect your travels. On another note, what an amazing road/trail you were on. Absolutely beautiful scenery!
Landon, Pro Tip: when you buy long sleeves make sure you buy lightweight merino wool. They are great with promoting evaporative cooling and are anti-microbial so you can let them dry and wear again. They are all I wear on summer moto trips.
We’ve told you many times in the comments not to take so many risks while traveling by yourself but you just keep on doing it. Hopefully you won’t get injured badly taking all these risks!
The most important thing is to be able to kill the engine before the intake gets submerged. As long as it's not running when it goes under you are usually good.
I haven't seen all your videos yet, just found you. Did you ever do one where you did a review of your bike? Can you show your moto fully packed please? I am looking for a new bike in Colombia soon and never considered KTM, but after watching your videos I will rethink. It's so light! I want to learn how to ride offroad better to have more fun, but wouldn't know how in Southamerica without spanish speaking abilities. How is the KTM on long distance highway rides?
They are all good for different things and some things are like apples to oranges, but Mexico is probably my favorite. It’s just been apart of my life for so long, and it’s so diverse. The people are amazing and don’t take things so seriously. They know how to laugh and be happy. Guatemala & Panama are up there as well.
I’ve been watching you from the beginning and I love your content. Time for some tough love. Ask yourself what riding skills have you mastered during your journey? You should be standing up more than sitting down. You spend most of your time riding, so master the skills necessary to not fall off anytime the terrain gets remotely difficult. Stop sitting down ! Do some research, go take some riding courses. Invest in yourself
@ I appreciate your hard work putting all these videos together. It has inspired me greatly. To the point of buying a KTM and slowly collecting gear to go on a big adventure one day. Much appreciated sir
F.Y.I.-- at least at the beginning, the only way I could understand what you were saying was putting captions on in English. Dude, something wrong there with microphone or some such thing that did not come through as clearly as former videos.😢
Love, love, loved the video and loved seeing your speedometer so many times in the video. You are a very good rider. Praying for your continued safety.
Thanks Russ! Yeahh I like to show the Speedo as well, it’s hard to tell on video sometimes how fast it is
Thank you for taking us on this wonderful journey, be safe.
Thanks for coming along!
Love your videos brother, drive save!
Thanks my friend, means a lot!
I loved the underwater GoPro shot - can’t plan that one! Stay safe…
Hahah im glad the camera was rolling 😂😂 but I don’t necessarily love the shot it stresses me out and makes me mad at myself haha

And yes when the trip is over I plan on doing a very in depth video of everything!
What a trip, that even looked steep on a GoPro. We are also grateful for you sharing your adventure. Everyone we have shared your channel with feels the same. Cheers Landon.
Ahh thanks guys! I really appreciate you guys! Also yes it actually was steep😂
Ride on, brother..... Love your adventures and riding skills and looking forward to others.
God is good!
Thanks my friend! Me too!
Its so refreshing that you dont do the drama thing, still find a way to be grateful, and show this beautiful landscape
I mean I do try and entertain, but I never want to fabricate. I never want to create something that just isn’t ya know.
gonna be sad when it's all over bro, what a journey - not done yet though so keep smiling and looking fwd
Agreed my friend! It’s been life changing
You’ll make it back my way soon enough!!! Always watching and cheering on your adventures.
Mexico is on the horizon!
Memories abound as you head for home! Thank you for taking us along! That was scary crashing in that river! God bless🙏🏼
It totally was! I though the bike was done
Wow that mountain road is unreal with the landscape I want to live there 😊
Such a pretty area
You have the best attitude about life! What could have been a trip-ending disaster turns out to be just another hurdle in life to overcome and not get stuck on. Thanks again Landon for the amazing video!
Thanks Steve! Lots of stress, but we head forward haha 👍👍
Glad you got yourself an ice cream Landon….. we all need a bit of spoiling from time to time. Thanks for a great video, yet again.
Haha I needed it! Stressful day
Wow. That was too close. Thankfully the bike wasn’t hurt. The area there is beautiful, the sky is soo blue. Stay safe and EAT Landon.
Bike is doing good!
Another day, Another adventure! Thank you for the show.
👍👍
Oh man you got super lucky when you fell into the water! There was very minimal water that got in and the heat from the motor evaporated what little was in there.
Yeahh I hear ya! I have very little experience with dropping bikes in water so it’s a scary thing for me! And Yeahh the water evaporated thankfully!
Thanks!
No thank you my friend! This is very kind of you! I appreciate it

I'm glad that turned out for the best. I was nervous reading the title for sure. Safe travels
Skimming by on pure luck & prayers haha
An interesting way to wash the bike.
Hahah everything goes! 😂😂

Yeahh a guy was commenting about that in here too! Seems legit, hopefully don’t need to do it anytime soon though haha
"I'm not super experienced...." as he narrates his thoughts about the water crossing while navigating a nasty technical down hill section without engine braking..........
Hahaha I mean compared to some I’m very inexperienced😂. But yeah that was actually a fairly steep section.
Great video Landon! If you ever need a place in Lake Tahoe let me know! Cheers!
Ahh thanks! Lake Tahoe is beautiful! Good place to have a place e to crash at forsure haha
Soooo glad you didn't end up taking on much water! I'd hate to see anything nad happen to you or your bike. Also glad you were able to get through Honduras before Sara hit. I'm not sure how far in advance you film, but i hope the storm doesn't affect your travels.

Thanks for the concern Christal! I always appreciate your comments on here! Yes I made it before.

👍👍
Danke!
Nein Danke! This is very kind of you! It goes a long way!
Wow ice cream
It hit the spot
You and Itchy Boots in the same week….having a wee bit of trouble with your bikes.
I know! Crazy
We’ve told you many times in the comments not to take so many risks while traveling by yourself but you just keep on doing it. Hopefully you won’t get injured badly taking all these risks!
Impossible to avoid risk on an adventure, that’s the whole point I’m out here
London travel king😂

Yeahh I tried to shut it off as soon as I could
Great videos been with you all along... how much miles on the bike now?
It’s got over 25,000 miles
I haven't seen all your videos yet, just found you. Did you ever do one where you did a review of your bike? Can you show your moto fully packed please? How has your camera held up with all the vibrations?
I think pretty good, I can’t complain too much. I don’t notice any failure or loss of quality
Landon, do you have a favourite country?
They are all good for different things and some things are like apples to oranges, but Mexico is probably my favorite. It’s just been apart of my life for so long, and it’s so diverse. The people are amazing and don’t take things so seriously. They know how to laugh and be happy. Guatemala & Panama are up there as well.
It's always hard luck and circumstances ain't it?
Just learning I guess
Bro you can't go home yet,, you've got like 30 more States in Mexico to see😂
😂😂 hahah I gotcha my guy, but yeah it still feels closer to the end then the beginning though
What do you guys use for gps, does it work without internet?
I use Gaia, you can download offline maps and it works quite well
I’ve been watching you from the beginning and I love your content. Time for some tough love. Ask yourself what riding skills have you mastered during your journey?

Hey thanks my friend! Advice is always accepted! I do need to get better at standing up more often.

😔😔 Yeahh I gotta fix my audio, it’s just hard to do out here ya know. I need to get back to the states
