That's a hilarious coincidence, Miraidon just won my local league cup at famous collectables 😂. I was kicking myself as i was an avid Miraidon player until recently.
I have been playing miradon/regieleki vmax for the past 3 months, always getting 2nd place in pokemon League and reaching master league on tcg live. That being said, Charizard ex is the only deck that will destroy me no matter what, unless I get lucky.
Need to chip damage each zard and run de Evo. Take out support early on. Easy KO if your running Electric to take out pigeot. But you would aim pigeot close to last after zard waste its candies.
I will also mention that a gouging fire deck made top 16. though I can't find a list.

A lot of people don't get why miraidon is good. First its a better buddy buddy poffin. Pulling any electric basic is huge when you have paradox pokemon. Then if you want use it as an attacker witch one shots all one prize pokemon. This card is very versatile.

I thought Miraidon was bad against Zard? Did something change?
That did not change. It's more that people are hard countering Zard so much, that it is making room for other decks to rise up.

he is bad against zard but zard is pretty bad against dragapult and miraidon is good against dragapult

A lot of the younger kids have been playing Miraidon at my local shop and they do every well against everyone. Even with the top meta decks.
That's cuz kids make a lot of mistakes and miraidon can exploit mistakes very well because of it being a turbo deck
He must be drunk if he thinks miraidon is good into zard. It's almost an auto loss for miraidon.

With 2 regieleki vmax and maximum belt attached, miradon can one hit K.O a Charizard, after that Charizard deals 240 damage, then its a matter of draw luck otherwise Charizard ex will K.O everything after taking 2 price cards.
The idea I have is to prevent the Charizard from being on the field via early Charmander/Chameleon kos or tm devolution.
@A_Robin Prevent the charizard ex from appearing on the field. If he does, then 2 regieleki vmax + maximum belt will take care of him. The plan is to knock: 2 charmander, 1 charizard ex, and 1 pigeot ex in that specific order.
I keep seeing this deck in ladders it starts up pretty nice Little scary but then soon as My Charizard EX drops it's over
I think miraidon vs Charizard is abysmal for miraidon, i mean once Charizard ex hits the field it's basically ggs
Yeah, he's completely wrong here, unfortunately. You only standard chance if they don't get a turn 1 buddy buddy.
@@al3dz739 I agree with you both. Especially with no true acceleration. E Gens are great, but they don't help late game.
Not true... playing raichu V, you just need 6 energy in play... which would be any energy you already have in play plus 3 from a possible heavy rod, 1 for turn and any generators you have to hand and with 16 lightning in deck it is not beyond the realms of possibility to get OHKO on a charizard, or if they can't get the return KO you can potentially set it up for a 3 prize turn with an Iron Hands ex.
@danielcrouch7897 then what? You have used 6 energies to KO a zard. I've been playing miraidon since January. Yeah, Raichu can do that. But it has to be timed perfectly, and you need to have a second attacker ready. If you just throw away 6 energies to ko a zard and they have another ready, you lose.

Dragapult may be a good match up, but Charizard definitely isn't. I think the difference is charizard runs a lot faster: while Dragapult is usually starting attacking turn 3 Charizard is already attacking turn 2, and the 1 prize you've taken helps them more than you
I could be mistaken, but doesn't the deck just fall apart to Jamming Tower? Obviously tools like EXP Share are extremely important to keep energy on the board. Not sure what I'm looking at until I see a western deck list.
Deck doesn't run exp share. Yeah, it will shut off charm, board, and FSS. Could be somewhat affective, but if decks are running it, it's one of.
I think Miraidon is running two Rods, making late game Generators possible. That is preferred over a measly two energy you might get out of running Exp. Share. Generators allow you more control over where those energy go, allowing you to close put the game.

The fact is, when it comes to your turn, stadiums can always be bumped. It turns off tools, it doesn't remove them. You will just see higher stadium counts and cards like lost vacuum
I would honestly play two lost vacuums at that point and your own stadiums. Jamming tower is powerful but is pretty easy to counter nowadays.

I used to be a Miraidon player last rotation, but how/ why is this good now if we still struggle to accelerate energy ??? Why is it good now besides the meta ? The only new cards are baton and tatsugiri
Because the deck is still good. And Charizard, it's auto loss, is not as popular anymore

Not the list, the format. Dragapult pished zard out. And Miraidon is a good match up against Dragapult and Lugia, the other popular deck.
What about the other miraidon? 1 energy to generate 2 energies?
I've been wondering the same thing. He's a staple in a future iron hands focused deck with iron crowns. I haven't tried it myself, but I've been curious how useful that single prize Miraidon would be in a non-future focused deck like this for the peak acceleration move.
He can’t be searched by big Miraidon.
And he has to be manually attached.
He is dragon not electric

I agree with most of what you say but miriadon has a bad zard match up it’s like 70/30 in favor of Zard
Seems like this deck list has no counter to Snorlax
I think Gardevoir, the second place, took out a Lax deck in the top 8. So the player dodged that one
Miraidon is likely to be very good, but I don't think it's great to just extrapolate the Japanese leagues and assume this will continue when the sets release (and the format goes) worldwide. I think the format is more enjoyable when there are more decks at the top rather than clearly superior decks.

Second place made a horrible missplay near the end that cost him the game. But the Miraidon player snatched a great win right back. It was a good match.

And last week we were talking about Dragupult being the "best deck" why dont we wait a few tournaments before jumping to conclusions?
Because we did. Dragapult is literally the third place. It's very existance knocked Charizard out, and enabled Lugia decks to be more viable. That in turn opened the way for Miraidon to do well, since the match up is very favorable vs these 2, but not zard.
Just a warning! Don’t invest into future decks. They are a scam and easily defeated. Future is Pokémon cash grab scam. You’re better off investing into your own future.

Yuuuup. Not only that, but it's gimmick that will stop receiving support. Hell it already did. So ancient and future decks are SOL going foward.
The guys telling you miraidon isn’t good anymore are just copying the latest regional-winning deck @StarChronos
