In a recent interview Corey said this was his favorite song, and actually got depressed when they took it off the setlist. It's his favorite because after the first 4 minutes or so its all freestyle, them just jamming out like friends. Pretty insane.
Hahaha! "actually got depressed" stfu
@@mammontustado9680 did he not say that?
No reason to take off set list
@@mammontustado9680 take your own advice lmao no need to get offended
Same I love it
This is as rare as Iowa. Imagine a setlist with Iowa and Scissors in it...
Shit would take up half the show lol
@@jackmalcic2949 I wouldn't mind! Imagine a show with all those dark and dragging songs. Adding Tattered & Torn, Purity, Prosthetics, Gently, Danger - Keep Away, The Virus Of Life to that as well.
@@hennydarmse that's what I'm talking about. The songs with this atmosphere are definitive Slipknot imo - No one could replicate it. Horror. Noise. Dissonance. I always wish more songs like this, prosthetics, etc were written
They play a short version of Iowa in 2005
Henny Darmse Prosthetics is so underrated I never see anyone mention it besides you. That’s my favorite Slipknot song.
Sid knocked himself out with the damn keg 4:20 Damn dude lol
Had me cracking the fuck up... Was wondering who it was at first, then realized, then it was just like "of course, who else?" lol
well it's Sid, what do you expect..
Did didn't knock himself out. He just leaned over and fall
Is it just me, or does this parallel the beginning and end of baghavad gita?
Nice time stamp too lol it checks with “knocking out”
The cymbol stop at 3:20 with his head is so fucking awesome MISS YOU JOEY!!!!
Jajajaja
thank you so much for pointing this out, I didn't catch it at all. joey is so rad!
Yes wow
"you can not kill what you did not create"
...
That would make a good line in a song
It's used briefly in duality I think
@@drakon2139 I know. It was a joke. I found it interesting that they were saying it this far back. Makes me wonder if using it as a song lyric was meant to be a callback to these days.
Good news!

@OOGLY BOOGLY wdym? Dudes literally filming Corey destroy the keg and losing his shit
@Talan Jerman It’s a Rick Roll isn’t it?
@Talan Jerman Fuck you
12:25 did Sid carry his set list to the front of the stage as if he was going to give it to someone, only to tear it up and flip the crowd off? I love that.
No, he was delivering a manicotti with a phylum.
That was the greatest thing I've ever seen
Bet you wouldn’t love it if you were on of the people in the crowd
@@pinkdragon4830im sure people there were pissed that a man in a broken gas mask ripped up a piece of paper in front of them
Play this at 144p for the ultimate experience
Someone please make this top comment.
Lol that experience perfectly summed up the struggles of trying to show someone a video you recorded at a show with your sweet ass flip phone circa 2000ish
@@AS34N More like a camcorder.
There's an actual account that has a good playlist of slipknot songs at that 144p

Why people get Dynamo open air confused with god's of metal
I wish they would introduce this back into the set list, I don’t think new fans could handle the chaos it brings but the old heads would really love it
Fuck yeah it would! went to knotfest last summer and my slipknot tattoo was older than 60% of the crowd lmfao I would love to see them play this with frail limb nursery.
new fans are literally young and can handle it, what the fuck are you talking about dud
Am 21 and self titled and iowa are by far ma favorite albums and this is one of ma favorite songs
As an 18 year old I would love if they played this If they ever brought frail limb nursery back and played it into purity that would also be sick.
i’m 15 and have been to 3 slipknot shows. and i can say that if they played scissors or iowa at a show, i would lose my shit.
The cameraman on the stage was so committed with his job
I really want to see the full pro-shot recording of this show
8:49 ... why i love slipknot
hahahhaha hell yeah we all used to enjoy their headbanger so much.
Even the some other guys for the filming crew were headbanging
I can only imagine how crazy this must have been to see live
Stay Metal Ray Can you imagine 2 years after you posted this comment you would do an interview with Jim Root himself🤣🤘Life's crazy
SLS10 life is crazy ain’t it?!
The big homie Ray knows the goods!
Me and a buddy had tickets to see them summer of 2000. But they had to postpone a bunch of shows and ended up canceling a few... ours was one they canceled. I'm still butthurt about it to this day.
Best song on self titled, Ray?
For me this is a work of art, pure expression of rage and depressions caused by trauma's, there will never be another band like this.
so true. very powerful music created through drugs, trauma and much more.
Around the 5:40 mark, I hear Chris's growls and think "oh shit, Chris has some badass growls" then Corey starts growling again at 5:47 and I'm like "OH SHIT, NEVERMIND. SORRY COREY!"
I still thibk Chris was a HUGE part of the live show. He did have killer backing vocals, HE WAS the backing vocals, Ive ran the soundboard for multiple Slipknot shows, wish i had the tapes i made in 1999/2000. I dont remember Clown having anywhere near the live vocals Fehn had. Its a real bummer their brotherhood couldn't stand up to alcohol, drugs and money. Fuckin shame. Im still a lifelong fan, not always so proud of that fact anymore.
Kustom Hooligans I’m still proud but I get ya. I feel sadly with Paul’s passing. A lot of grieving and moving on became too much for the members also.
Alongside life also with the issues between Chris, Clown and Corey and Joey getting a degenerative disease that has to take him out. I still adore this band tho as well as the new members.
Chris was definitely a beast in backing vocals but so was Clown in his way. He definitely lost the heavy mean growly vocals and such after Iowa
Sorry to tell you all, but that’s actually Paul Gray and Corey
Corey's scream just has sooo much emotion in it.. can't beat that
Corey coming in like “I’m the alpha here”

In a recent interview Corey said this was his favorite all time song. They’d usually freestyle this song in the second half and when they took it out of their set list he didn’t enjoy performing for awhile.
When asked, in 2019, if Scissors would ever make it back into the set list, Jim said they hadn’t talked about it because the fans wanted to hear the new stuff. He also said something about it that I never knew before. They use Drop-B tuning for most of their songs, but they tune the low B down to F# to match the 5th string. That why it has that crazy drone-like sound.
that video is pretty good isn't it? ;)
Yeah I found out awhile back they tune to F# and was shocked considering they never play in anything other than B and A so I think that’s probably the main reason it left the set list and never came back.
This is the only show I've found where Corey retains his scream pitch the entire show. Normally his pitch lowers overtime during this era.
Still crazy how much his vocal ability changed from this era to the Iowa era which was just a year or so later lol
He was beginning to figure out how to scream/growl properly.
Tane Rameka From around 1997 to 2004 or so Corey literally just screamed as loud as he could, no technique whatsoever. That’s why it sounded as authentic as it did in the early days. It did end up taking its toll, as he lost a ton of vocal range from all the years of improper screams : (

These dudes were heavy in their early days
Love Slipknot for sure but yes in their early days they were HORROR! They've evolved in awesome ways and I love their new stuff as much as anything but I CRAVE a new terrifying piece of work like this!

Great performance! Awesome times)
damn, it feels good to see that Warlock in Mick's hands...its a shame he split with BC Rich...but you can definitely tell this was Early SlipKnoT; everyone had a lot more Energy (honestly, they dont even headbang "as hard" these days...growing old sucks) and Joey was rocking the Single Bass Drum with the double-pedal instead of two separate drums...i wish they could capture this youthful energy, bottle it up, and sprinkle it onto their Current live shows (well, "current" minus Covid, but you know what i mean)
Agreed. I saw em in 2001, and it was 9 guys with a death wish on stage. Sadly never saw em with that energy again - nowadays it comes off as very rehearsed, but of course that's just how it goes. No artist with that energy keeps it up their entire career ... Without dying
