Sadly for "now" if I was to get the tlm 103 or any of the neumann brands I'd be using the scarlet solo Gen 3 because that's the interface I currently have ...what are your experiences with it
Dang, my entire setup is $450. I have - AT2020 XLR and stand w/ filters ($100) - Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen ($100) - 40" HDTV ($120) - Refurbished desktop with i5 quad core/256GB SSD/16GB Ram/1TB memory ($130) - Oh, and learning on Repear DAW
hello sir, i am using tlm 102 and solo 3rd. when i turn off the 48v power, the led light will flash. then i switch my rode nt1 there have no problem.. do you know whats going on??
Hi, I have a TLM 103. High end condenser mics take about 6 seconds for all of the phantom power to drain. If you turn up the gain knob you can actually hear it powering down at the end lol. Make sure when you’re plugging your mic into your interface to have the phantom power turned off at least 10 seconds before plugging in your mic or else you’ll actually hear a pop which is the interface overloading the mic’s membrane and can damage it. Then once you’re done, let the mic sit for at least 6 seconds after turning off phantom power. Good Luck!
Yes noticed a difference, sounded a bit more bright and can handle higher frequencies better when recorded. But I'd say get a tlm 102 if you have a low pitched voice/male voice as it would be able to handle it just as well.
Hmmm, I guess it just depends on your gain, make sure not to be too close to the mic when it's turned up really high, does it sound muffled even when the gain is lower?
@@jaxight nah you dont know me, but iam really interested in audio and wanna hear how it sounds like on youre voice! Do you have discord? so i can add ya?

very very bad interface to control this mic .. i git the same and i stop recording before i 'll get mya apollo or somethink similar ... very bad like the mic going with scarlet kit works better bro
Pairing a Nuemann tlm 103 with a scareltt solo is like pairing an rtx 4090 with some cheap i5 processor. Youre bottlenecking the sound quality of that mic. Upgrade to an apollo or at least an audient interface. The Scarlett is barely better than a behringer interface
I'm aware, this video is from awhile ago and I quickly upgraded to universal audio stuff. These shorts don't show the date it's uploaded most of the time so people assume it's recent and like I don't upgrade anything lol.
you buy an 1100$ mic with a cheap focusrite? haha id just assume buy a decent cardi mic with the focusrite save your money get the same quality if you're just going to use it for streaming.
@@JaeBTundra1 was using a apollo solo, but now I don't have a good one, I returned the apollo because I couldn't use it on discord unless it went through 3rd party software and then sounded worse than my scarlett, looking for a new interface

It's normal for it to flash, is there a problem with the tlm 102? Or is it ok?

Did you notice a big difference after upgrading to a costlier interface? Or was the Solo handling the TLM well enough?
Yes noticed a difference, sounded a bit more bright and can handle higher frequencies better when recorded. But I'd say get a tlm 102 if you have a low pitched voice/male voice as it would be able to handle it just as well.
what mic does wick use .. anyone ?
Hi, I have a question, can I use this mic with my focusrite scarlett 6i6? Do I need something else like a cloudlifter or anything else? Thank you!
Nah it doesn't need a cloudlifter. Depends how close you are using it with your mouth. My gain is on at around 10 o clock
condenser mics should never require a cloudlifter or a fetthead
