Wow,that was creative..IMO the fact that she did all that for her kitties to keep them happy and healthy to me speaks to how much she loves her cats..they must have a really good home..and they have a really nice hooman/human 😁😺

For all the " tree enthusiast" a quick jaunt into the edge of the woods and there are plenty of downed limbs and trees there to use judgement free. Also all Lowe's and Home Depot home stores cut linear pieces of wood free of charge. So really all you need is a hand saw to even up the branches, rope, drill bolts carpet and glue. This is a fantastic idea thanks for posting

Kish L. you are absolutely correct. You don't have to be rich to make a cat tree that your cats will thoroughly enjoy. Lumber is cheap at the home improvement stores as are carpeting remnants. I got tired of pricing the cat trees at the pet stores, as they were so expensive for even a little tree. So I went to a home improvement store and was really shocked how cheap wood is. In fact, most of the cost of a cat tree in the stores is from the cost of labor, not materials. I have made four cat trees, and one for my disabled neighbor's nine cats. After a storm, I drive down a wooded area to acquire large branches that have fallen in the right of way and haul them home. I don't have a lot of tools, but I have at least a drill, jigsaw, and many screws. It's time consuming but a lot of fun watching it take shape. You will be surprised at what you can do! It usually takes me five to six weeks to do one. But my house cats love them. Cats don't expect perfection. They just want something to climb on, maybe take a nap.

Nice. I'm researching ways to build mine using the branches/logs/sticks I've collected over the years. Love the natural look of real wood and curves.

If only we all owned homes with plentiful perfectly sized trees we are allowed to cut down, as well as a full service carpenter's dream of a workshop in our garages. Also, it would be nice to have the skill and confidence to use all of the tools in said workshop in a safe and effective manner by which to create such a masterpiece. Seriously... I'm actually not being completely sarcastic or at all snarky. With those kinds of skills and resources I hope this lady has a very successful Etsy by now. If so, please link. ;-)

I completely agree 10000%! She's beyond talented. I wish I had everything you mentioned so I could build my 3 handsome lil guys the kitty cat towers, wall shelves + mini bridges, hidden litter box side table, outdoor "catio" aka a cat patio of their dreams! If only I were rich 🔧😞😿💔🔨👌🐱🪓🐈📐✏️

@@babydolljones77 You don't have to be rich to make cat trees that your cats will thoroughly enjoy. I am not rich. In fact, have two jobs. Lumber is cheap at the lumber yard or even Home Depot. Remnant carpeting, if you would use carpet on the tree, is also cheap. I have made four cat trees, and one for my disabled neighbor's nine cats. After a storm, I drive down a wooded area to acquire large branches that have fallen in the right of way and haul them home. Pine is the best wood because it is soft and easy to drill. Then I strip the bark off, and sand the branches. Let them sit for a while. It does take longer to make without all those tools in this video. But I have at least a drill, jigsaw, and many screws. It's time consuming but a lot of fun watching it take shape. It usually takes me five to six weeks to do one. But my house cats love them. Your cats don't expect perfection. They just want something to climb on, maybe take a nap. They will love you for it. Give it a try.

Hey Cager Carter, I was thinking the same! My only working place is my 2x2 m kitchen. It would be very funny to try to cut the tree's branches in that place 😁 I mean provided I can find an already fallen tree in the local cemetery 🤣 after a storm. 🥳💕

Now I’m hoping we’ll get a hurricane scare (not an actual hurricane) just a scare so we’re allowed to cut city trees lol!!! try living in a busy city and finding trees you’re allowed to cut. I’m hoping I can get decent drift wood from the beach.

I would never cut a tree for this, I would use already broken off branches (after a storm for example) Not sure if one can take this wood from a public park though.

Nube Toob, wait until after a storm and go for a ride along a wooded area to see if any big branches fell into the right of way. The city workers will have to pick those up at some point because it's public property. I never go into a wooded area, as other animals use the woods and the protection the canopy provides. But I always see branches fall into the right of way and I stop and get them.

She could have got away with non coated pine with glued 1by2 running on each bottom for rigidity. I like to use little to no solvents with wood glue being the prominent binder thats non toxic in most cases.

I once visited a lady who had lions, she had a 3 month old one living in her house, that I got to play with, it weas once in a life time experience, it would even let me kiss him, i noticed that she had a very nice home, in her living room, she had an expensive antique couch that was shredded, she said I love him more then my couch, she also raised this one small wild cat I can't remember the name of it, that she sold them to people in NY, for protection against burglars, the cat would let them in, but the burglar couldn't get out, it went wild on them, and because of the sounds of screams, they were caught by the police because of neighbors calling them, if they got out, they ended up in th ER

    • @ericschmuecker348

You live in the city, don't you?
Once cut and left outside, it'll debark itself. Takes a while, but trees cover the planet, so there's plenty ready to go.
Unless you live in a treeless place.
