well the engine architecture is over 20 years old. Its the zx9r engine, so yeah they made alot of improvements with it between the z1000, z1000sx ninja 1000sx and versys 1000 LT
@@PaZuZu871 i saw that one but you have to ignore the service manual and do services early it was designed to only last till 80,000kms that zx6r had its services either cut in half or over done. I work at a bike shop and they blow headgaskets often as they’re used to being on that track. If you baby it and perform the services earlier than theyre supposed they will last long. On the other hand the z900, 1000sx and versys 1000 were designed to be on the street only so they last long as they dont have to be stressed all the time like the 600cc screamers.
Wow man, 100K kms it's wild! And have you had any major service for the bike? Like valve clearance adjustment, clutch plates replacement, steering bearings, drive chain replacement, etc? I have a 2021 Z900 and I also felt the lack of power on the top end so I ended up having a full system, K&N filter and a power commander and I can say it feels way better, added a dynojet quick shifter and the thing fly since the start. I had to put on a brake upgrade, added some Brembo Stylema with a bracket to change the mounting to radial and Hel steel braided lines matched with a Hel radial master cyclinder. I'm still looking for some more upgrades as I plan to keep this bike for a good long time.
Last major service I made was beginning of season at 90k kilometers, and im so glad you love the bike and are able to upgrade it. Japanese bikes will last you a long time brother so I hope you enjoy
I've made 110.000km on my late 2019 Honda CB500X that I bought new. Changed the spark plugs at 108.000km a couple of weeks ago and never touched the valves. 👌
Gen 3 Mt09 I ride it reasonably hard, hard not too for 30,000 km and hasn't missed a beat. You hear of issues with Euro bikes including BMW and Aprilia but rarely Jap Bikes.
🎉🎉 thanks for sharing I’ve done 76,000kms on my 2020 z900 120kms a day commuting. I was worried about when I should move it on. I think I’ll just keep going. Cheers bro.
That's some nice riding right there. It's nice to see, that you are able to to get this bike to a 100k with your riding Style. Little envious about the streets you have in Switzerland. I have to ride quite a distance from my place to get some decent twisty roads here in Germany. Have a like good Sir!
Nice video man - love your countryside. I was about to sell my 2022 z900 with 25,000km on her, but after seeing the crazy prices on new bikes decided to keep the bike and upgrade with a performance air filter, full akra system and a tune.
Nice work & congratulations. I put 130,000km on my little CB500F. Finally upgraded to CBR1100XX. Building a Z750 for the twisties that will hopefully be as reliable. Agreed with fuel gauge. Passed on buying a few good bikes without them for that reason.

If you are looking at SF V2 .. just skip this bike.. imo SF V4 makes much more sense because of the following:

+ Has better low end torque and better tractability (Cruise in 3rd gear @ 50 Kmph.. without any stalling.. which is impossible in V2, need to downshift to 2nd gear)
+ Less engine vibration compared to V2
+ Has better Tech and Dash
