Sonic Frontiers: Slide replaces Drift?

- Frontiers like forces seems to have you only make turns with Sonic by either slowing down or hitting a wall. Running around in previous levels, It looks like the Slide takes place of drift. Seems to work for the other stages where you have a hard turn as well. I would have preferred drift stay in but this seems to be intended?
You could drift with the slide button in Unleashed as well
Fun fact you know you can even move the joystick back and then to the left or right fast and drift too? XD unleashed have 3 different forms to drift haha
@@vitexus6907 wait I thought it was my controller bugging out
@@aahiljcat Me too💀💀💀
Impressive
@@vitexus6907 This is actually the only way to drift in the prototype build
This was intended since Forces, implemented since UNleashed
Forces did the same thing actually lol
Apparently the drift is actually in frontiers but it's unknown how to get it
It's in one stage 3-5 and that's it
@@artimation4710 There's a specific cyberspace stage that uses the drift but in a bad way. Cuz in this stage there're specific dash pads that makes Sonic do the drift and it's awful.
@@pedrohcamargosilva that sucks
@@artimation4710 yeah...
I'm surprised no one uses the slide as a boost attack replacement, you can damage enemy with the slide right? Since the boost doesn't do damage anymore, the slide can also be use as a replacement on straight paths where there are enemies
I use the Slide as an attack while boosting as well! I thought it was an obvious thing to do, but I guess not
Me too
Yeah, people are so used to boost without thinking that the can't use logic any more 😂
Sonic Adventure 2’s boarding stages had braking instead of drifting. It’s kinda the same thing. Games probably have to make a drifting mechanic automated because it’s sorta complicated doing it in a car. Thus, it’d require more buttons than the average Mario Kart player may expect. No idea how Forza or Initial D implements the mechanic. X3
Yeah but braking made me lose lots of speed unlike most drifts where you only lose some speed or even gain more. Regular turning worked better in sa2 streetboarding imo
That's what I asked myself in Forces, Especially in Metropolitan Highway, I guess with some modification within the level where there are green panels, changing properties or deleting them you can replicate the drift effect
kishimoto actually confirmed on twitter someone's datamining, drifting was planned to be in the base moveset (bound to LT while boosting and turning) but cut last minute (super sonic still has it)
There was a cyber space level with the drfitin mechanic in the third world
We don't talk about that one
*Jump above the drift pads*
It's awful. They did it like Colors instead of Generations.
That's the exact corner where I got mad. What were they thinking? Drift is vital.
Not a replacement but I damn well use it like one lmao
Oh my lord is that the chemical plant
Actually super Sonic does can drift while moving, the game director also said the drift system with base sonic was in the game but sadly didn't came out in the final version :/
Do any of your Super Move or Finishing Move exhibition videos feature characters who either are dominatrices or have a dominatrix theme?
I forgot there is a slide in this game lol
They should replace it with the spin dash. While we're at it, they should remove the boost as well and make Sonic fast naturally.
It's actualy the same as in sonic forces, phisics didn't changed much
It don’t replaces it ig u just have to hold the down pad on the d-pad
Really? I got to check this out.
@@thaneros Idk if it works like That But its in the Game in earlyer cyberspace levels
@@Einfabio you mean in one cyberspace level on Chaos Island?
@@Boykeeplays yea
@@Boykeeplays lol sorry if I said it wrong you just had to go left or right in the cyberspace one
no way it is here that?
👀
How do you do it ??
Just press the slide button (I don't know if it works while boosting) I haven't played the game yet
@@OMR3333 theres no drifting in the game by manual controller input.
