This is a very old video, but now it's 2019 and to be honest with you, I don't think these bikes have been upgraded. I bought my 2011 GSXR in 2012. Here is ultimately how I chose my bike, and my thought process.
    1) Looks, this is subjective, and what made it difficult for me was although they all looked different, they were equally good looking. Now as far as looks from the cockpit, the top of the forks for Kawasaki and Suzuki looked nice, and didn't have the big bolts like Honda and Yamaha did.
    2) Performance, from reading reviews, bottom end Honda, midrange Suzuki and Kawasaki, Top end Yamaha. I view top end more important for a track bike, I was looking for mid range, being a street rider. So Kawasaki and Suzuki got the nod.
    3) Ergonomics, which is important for street riders. Suzuki had the adjustable foot pegs, and thicker seat. Yamaha had thinnest seat, and the fairings kicked up heat to the rider. The Kawasaki and Honda were in the middle.
    4) Price, Honda was cheapest, followed by Kawasaki. Suzuki was way more expensive than the other three.
After all this, I was sold on the Kawasaki Ninja. When I went to the dealer, who sold all four makes, I saw that the GSXR was marked down $1000. It was March of 2012, and Suzuki was tying to get rid of the 2011 models. The only difference between 11 & 12 was different paint scheme. It was a no brainer with that discount. I would have taken the Yamaha if I was a track rider.

Dunno if I've been going too fast lately and scrambled my brains but, watching these guys is like watching the cousins of famous people. There's rod Stewarts cousin, tiger woods cousin, Matt Parkers cousin and I just can't place the other guy 😂😂😂😂

I'm picking up a 2012 GSXR600 next week. MSRP was $11,600 in 2012. I'm getting it for $6500, mint condition, with an M4 exhaust and only 3,200 miles. I'm crazy excited. Just gotta sell my FZ-07 now.

how do you like it. i like the gxsr and am considering it, but worry I might find the top end weak (I really tend to enjoy bikes that wind out hard)

I really love it. I hear you about the top end, but honestly, I don't ride at top end anyway. It gets up to 120mpg really goddamned fast, and that's good enough for me. I plan to do a -1/+2 520 conversion on it too, which will bring the top speed down more.

I’m thinking of going from a GSX-S750 to a GSX-R. Not a big fan of the naked after about 5,000 miles. Everyone pushes the naked as being more comfortable but I’m tucking at highway speeds 80% of the time so a sport bike with clip ons makes more sense to me.

The gixxer has 3 power levels. The lowest switch will reduce the power of the bike nicely for beginners and the bike a gear display.

5 years later ...finally I got an impeccable 2012 gsxr600
With only 220 miles (new) for $6000. Bucks. The 2017 gsxr 600 still the same and cost $11000. I'm happy :)

I'm going to apologize in advance for this common question. Although it's common my situation is different. I'm wondering if the CBR600, GSXR600, ZX6R, Daytona 675, and R6 are created equal or is there one bike better than the other for my first bike. I'm 6'2 220lbs and 26 years old. My show boat days are behind me. I'm mature enough to start with a 600. Any recommendations to what bike has the least twitchest throttle, and which one is better to start with?
    Cheers

Honestly for average to a little above average riders it comes down to which design you like better. If you're using it for just street use the differences are so minuscule you won't even be able to tell the difference. R6! Best looking in my eyes (why I own a 2011 raven lol)

Motorcycle, I have a question. I really like the CBR 600RR more so than the others and want to purchase a used model. My question is which year out of the current generation model that debuted in '07 would you recommend? And...do you think a premium full race exhaust (Leo Vince, Arrow) and PowerCommander would more than help it make up for its slight lack of top end power? Any reply from someone that has experience with the '07+ 600RR would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

To those of you saying that price isn't an issue: speak for yourself, some of us don't have infinite money to throw on a bike, no matter how much we love it. That extra $1.5-2k could be months worth of saving to get.
Great review guys, could definitely do with a bit more riding footage (especially of the engines screaming ;)), but other then that it was interesting and enjoyable. Keep it up!

  • @bfmv580
    @bfmv580 13 років тому

Did you guys hire a new production crew or something? The shots and editing was of fantastic quality, really something you should be proud of. I would of liked to see some POV riding shots though, so next time stick a GroPro on your helmet for a few short clips of each bike, but other than that, this was probably your best ever video overall.

I ride gsx-r 750 (k8 however) but yeah. GSXR are special bikes, everyone should try one and get amazed for their user-friendlyness, the majority of riders on the street can't not get near the limits of a 600cc RR bike, so why not choose what's most comfortable and what you seem to fell in love with? (as long as the economy is fair)

For the looks, CBR wins... i just really dig the exhaust under the seat. :) I'm a n00b tough... i never owned a bike and will probably get a kawa 300, cbr250 or cbr500 as my first bike. But i am 6'2''... so idk. Eventually, i might want a bigger bike. I might just go get the CBR600rr with a speed restriction kit installed on... and then, when i feel ready... i just take it off. Btw, is it possible to install an exhaust under seat of other bikes ? Kawa for instance..

@ssonera88 i think you gotta take into consideration more than just the bike, back in my place, Kawi is the only who has a factory here, parts and services are easier to get. For Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki, they're all imports, parts and service here is possible but it is a bit harder to get and heck a lot more expensive. And the last part of the vid is damn true, with the fact Kawi is cheaper, that money can get you a lot of things.

Get what you will love to ride. All these bikes are so close in performance, it really doesn't matter. People who say that kawasaki's are better than Hondas or however its put are just fan boys. Performance on these machines is almost completely dependent on the rider. With that said, get what you will love to ride, the one that when you see it you just smile. comfort should be taken into consideration however. The R6 is a tall boy. I'm about 5 foot 9 and I cant get flat footed. Still love it

@gixxerredliner2010 Umm, so you were paying attention? Money is a big issue when buying also. The suzuki is rediculously expensive for a 600 and makes you look at other bikes because of it. It's not comfortable enough for an extra grand or two over the others.
