  • Watch as we use tracer gas leak detection to locate a hidden central heating leak.
The central heating system boiler is losing all of its pressure in 12 hours or less.
A boiler engineer has identified a leak on the central heating system.
The boiler has been isolated from the central heating system.
Our engineer has drained all of the water from the central heating pipes.
The central heating system pipes are pressurised with Tracer gases.
The pipes are buried in screed under the flooring.
Traces of the tracer gas were detected behind the washing machine.
Removing the washing machine reveals damp flooring and skirting board.
The sound of a water leak can be heard behind the plasterboard.
Cutting the plasterboard away reveals a leaking pipe fitting in the all.
Once a repair was made a pressure test confirms the system is holding pressure.

I'm an HVAC contractor watching from outside Philadelphia, and I appreciate your straightforward approach to the video clips.

    Well done Pal.....👏.
I spotted the same issue in my sons flat and sorted it myself... no need to topup...and avoided any dampness..

Great videos - love them!! It would be good to see you doing the actual repairs if that's possible. I work in IT and find these really interesting to watch

Tracer gas (nitrogen hydrogen mix) is pumped into to system. The gas escapes wherever there is a hole and the air sampler (wand) will detect the gas. Another way if you don't want to drain down is put a bit of perfume into the water and see where you can smell the perfume coming out.
