Awesome platform to start with bud! Don't worry too much about what people want to see from your channel, it's your channel to do what you want and so far you're doing good! Just be you man, that's what good people want to see regardless
Congratulations on getting the car running. The good thing is that it is built on the Chevelle body platform. If there are any junk/salvage yards in your area that have Chevelles in their inventory, you can get a hood from them. I understand the money situation as I am retired and working on a 61 Impala. You keep up the best you can and I'll be following along. best of luck!!! Mike!
i have seen some oldtimers spray old engine oil on the frame to stop the rust a cheap fix, i love el caminos had 2 80.81 they all have rust issues on snow states
Glad to see it is a 283 . As you work on it . Stay with 1 or 2 things at a time. Organized is key with parts and tools. And when you start patching rust on quarter panels and floor. If you can't afford new. Check out old hoods and fenders from junkyard or body shop wreck stuff and make you something. Cut off wheel hammer and welder. Be safe use safety glasses. It was funny as hell watching y'all get it in the shop. I am a subscriber from OMG.
Great job on getting the car to idol / run . I have no doubt that this car is going to be awesome when you get it all done the way you want it to be !! If not for Bill at old man's garage posting a link to this channel I would have never known about you and your El Camino and I am glad I took the chance and watched your first video and now I am a sub to your channel and I have told everyone I know to like and sub to your channel
Always remember we learned by our mistakes unfortunately and I've made my share so is everybody else. One thing at a time and before you know it you won't have any more list keep up the good work.
You should work with the intake that you have it was common in back in those days to swap from the old iorn intake to an aluminum intake you just need the vacuum fittings for the transmission and a different set of valve covers so you can put oil in the motor don’t waste time trying to get the rust out of the tank but a new one and depending on what the pick up looks like you may need one of those too
You are off to a great start and congrats on hearing it idle. Keep going and keep posting. As for your videos, don't worry about it, most just video with their phones anyways and this channel is yours and build the car to please you, not us, because if you worry about pleasing us then you will not enjoy the process, watch out for the rivet counters. Cheers, Wayne
Good job man way to work through problems and solve them. Loved the content and look forward to your channel growing as well as your knowledge. We need more young men like you in this world. 💯🔥
When you drop the tank if it is salvageable drain it and get some Evaporust from harbor freight and let it soak if there is any surface rust in it that stuff works miracles
I also can use the starting fluid to seal the tire on a wheel put the tire on the Wheel and spray starting fluid inside the tire throw a fire on the starting fluid where it is with a some kind of flame a fire paper or propane bottles but it is kind of dangerous it will explode and jump in the air a little bit it would be kind of dangerous do it in your garage out in the opening in the yard somewhere would be the best place cases it it takes off rolling but like I said it is kind of dangerous and it will have a loud pop that is a old country boy trick you might have heard about it some farmers use it to put their tractor big tractor tires on it's been around for a long time ever since I can remember
Clunkers and classics just fixed up a couple of El Caminos . If you want to see the process. I think you find this year of car worth a few dollars. Be care full how you proceed. Check see if its engine numbers matching..
Clunkers and classics is wised up on prices on these vehicles. He can tell you the value as it stands. You need to insure it for a agreed price. It would be hard to replace. The 283 came out in a 57 Chevy. I think it was the first engine to have the same HP as cubic. This was with the Fuel injection fitted. Maybe later you fit a Holley Sniper 2. Or if you keep the Carb .Thunderhead289 designed a computer for a carb.. That would be cool to fit. Check his channel. Good luck.
Hello young man I have a tip and trick on putting used tires on dirty rims and Rusty rims on the inside of the wheel and the tire bead playing the inside of the will be the best you can also the tire bead I use WD-40 or used motor oil or baby oil free on the tire bead and the rim bead put air in the tire to the tire pressure that you want if the Tire beat is leaking a little bit take a sledgehammer and hit the rim on the beat and on the tire that is my trick especially when you have to put the tire on the wheel the only one you got may God bless you there young man j u a n. C r u z. F u e n t e s I am 71 years old looking to be 72 this coming March 28th 2024 I tried to message you when you was changing tires but I could not do it the I could not get on your post
That's exactly how we all got started is by ambition.
Congrats on getting it running. 283 is an excellent motor. Just keep the oil changed. Good work.

Before no long you will have her running and driving.
Good luck and keep the videos coming!
Sign yourself up for an epidemic sound account so you can use some background music every once in a while.
I used epidemic sound for the new video that comes out Tomorrow at 8am EST. I think it increased the quality by far compared to the last video.
Cool car to bring back around...gonna be a great channel 👍🏼

Keep up the hard work brother💪. Getting better with each upload
Congrats on getting ur 65 El Camino to do work on it. My first car was a 1964 El Camino, got it in 1974. sold it for a 68 Camaro soft top.

That’s good news because, I have valve covers with a breather oil fill cap. I just need to make about 1/2 of an inch of clearance for the alternator.

The hole you plugged is a vacuum port most of the time has a fitting that attaches the shift modulator for the transmission
imma have to come and see it and help fashoo🙏🙏

I really dig the name of the channel.
You need to use a pipe with a chain ran through it to hook to jeep and take other end hook to El Camino. Then you can push it where you want it
Great idea is to be ambitious and learn as you go! N
You are giving me the inspiration now at 53 to do this.
Needle valves are stuck when it floods out and over the top of the carbureted
