@@gailtaylor1636 No you do away with the stupid chassis dyno that Nascrap uses to make all Ford, Chevy and Toyota motors are with a couple HP of each other. You have like Nascar of the mid-2000s their set of engine rules/parameters and whatever HP the engine builder can squeeze out of the engine within the rules is fair. If I can squeeze 10 more horsepower than you can, then I did better tuning and development within the rules. Yes the high dollar teams will have an advantage over the back marker low budget teams, but even with the rules now, the high dollar teams will always rise to the top. That's just the way an open competition works. Nascar went woke with their rules, wanting everyone with essentially identical chassis, parts overall same bodies aside from the nose/rear bumper fascia, almost same HP, same gear ratios, shocks...essentially a Nascar produced and sold by Nascar kit car. They've ruled the series to death and are trying to make it IROC, well IROC sucked and the cars were too even, making passing really hard. Almost identical handling, horsepower and aero makes for boring racing.....IROC went bye-bye because it sucked. The old ASA late model series went away because they tried the exact same thing with their late models.....One sourced GM spec crate engine regardless of manufacturer and almost identical bodies. True racing fans knew a driver in a Ford T-Bird decaled body was powered by a Chevy spec crate motor. Fans didn't like it, crowds dwindled and that National late model touring series DIED.
When Nascrap decided to make the truck series ALL use identical Illmore built GM spec engines, I lost almost all interest in the series and barely watch it anymore. I'm a Ford fan and without a Ford powerplant in the chassis, then all the Ford decals and a f-150 nose means nothing as the engine was and just like in Cup/Xfinity the only thing that really made it a Ford, Chevy or Toyota. If and when ( I fully expect Nascrap to eventually go to a single sourced spec engine for both series) they go a single sourced GM spec engine, then I'll be totally done with Nascrap. I'm nearly there now.
I've been a fan for nearly 60 years and myself drove a late model during the 1980s am just about done with Nascar's nonsense and sport killing rules and race manipulation of stage/staged racing, traction additive on racing surface, phantom cautions, cautions for a simple spin that requires no wrecker or track cleanup that last 5-7 laps robbing fans of more green flag racing and then the coup de ta.......the playoffs, they suck. And finally, I hate their new qualifying sessions of A and B. There are some in say group A that didn't make the top 5 but qualified 6th could have someone in group B that had a slower time but will still start ahead of that guy in group A, that's horsecrap....go back to qualifying the way it's been for 75 years, none of this group A and B crap. More Nascrap stupidity.

NASCAR will never admit that this “Next Gen Car” was a big mistake. I blame the mistakes made squarely on Jim Frances shoulders because he was the person who pushed to use/consult with IMSA Road Race Car designers/specialist instead of Stock Car Racing innovators and designers. Additionally blame should be shared with Steve Phelps, Lesa Kennedy, Mike Helton, and Gary Crotty to name a few for not standing up and saying this Next Gen Car is a bad design and is not what a cup car should be and it’s will be bad for the sport. Additionally Dale Jr, Clint Boyer, and the rest of the retired or semi retired NASCAR drivers also deserve a healthy dose grief about this car because they did not have the intestinal fortitude to say this is not what a NASCAR Cup car should be. If NASCAR wants to fix a lot of their problems on the track redesign the chassis to have a solid rear axle, no under car aero, ditch the splitter and bring back the chin spoiler, up the horsepower to 750 to 800 on short tracks, 650 to 700 on road courses and intermediate tracks, and 625 to 675 on supper speedways, up the tire allocation by 4 sets a weekend and bring back practice sessions on Friday and Saturday morning, move race start time up and no Sunday evening or midweek races to start with.
