Shankar is like the Steven Spielberg of Indian cinema. He actually revolutionized, Indian cinema into a whole new level not only by those CGI shots but also exploring new sides of cinema. He's also known for his creative picturization of songs in his films. And he is one of those very few directors who completely understood the term "Indian cinema", while others are busy taking masala flicks. Some of his recommended movies. 1.Indian. 2. Mudhalvan(later remaked in Hindi as "nayak"). 3. Anniyan. 4. Endhiran(recently its sequel released as 2.0). 5. Shivaji.
For me Shankar slightly resemble James Cameron than Steven Spielberg, great vfx, simple story line, etc etc but Steven Spielberg can be equally compared to rajamouli.. PS: not saying rajamouli is that great as Spielberg

His films mostly deals with politics, corruption, human psychology and he never tries over the top action scenes and masala flicks like his fellow directors. His films like jeans, endhiran and 2.0 literally started new phases in Indian cinema.

Story is different storyline is different.. what is madhuvalan about? What happens when commen man becomes CM, enthiran- what happens when robot have feelings and become rogue, anniyan- frustrated guy develops MPD, and punish people who do wrong, boys- a group of young people grow as big independent band, jeans- two twins fall in love with same girl. They developed these story lines into proper films, they aren't a complex one like KV Anand, Vikram kumar films who run their films on thin storylines that's why they have flops.. Shankar have few, where as rajamouli solely depends on story only two or three films of his have simple story line..like eega and maryada ramanna

Tbh the movie isn't bad. It's just that some people had really high expectations from the trailer which were basically action scenes and snippets from the songs for the most part. For eg. if you had watched Ennodu nee irundhaal and had gone to watch the movie after that, obviously you'd expect it to be something related to a beast and fantastic creatures. That's all😂👌👌✨✨
It is the same movie. This song is at the beginning of the film when Vikram was not introduced to the modern world of advertising. He lived in a village doing local advertising. So when Amy comes to that village she meets with Vikram and is taken with the ads that he does. So they revamp him to that handsome gorgeous man. And he then joins her to do those modern adverts.
You should definitely watch the movie. You will realize how much hardwork he has put insanely for his physical transformation. It's definitely one of the best ever.

All of Shankar's films directed by him have ladies in very creative costumes. He conceptualizes each song and his films are always the most sought when it releases. Kinda like the Christopher Nolan type of hype in India!

India's best Music Director AR Rahman is from Kollywood, India's best choreographer Prabhudeva is from Kollywood, India's Iconic film makers like Maniratnam, Shankar etc. are from Kollywood, India's best Stunt director Peter Hein is from Kollywood, India's best Cinematographers PC Sriram, Santosh Sivan are from Kollywood. Infact, the whole South Indian movie industries are fantastic. But because lot of population in the whole North India watches Bollywood as they don't understand South languages and many are dumb to understand our movies, Bollywood is portrayed as the representation of Indian Cinema.

Director of this movie, Shankar is considered one of the best directors in India. Known to combine commercial elements beautifully to a message oriented movie. Definitely one of my favourite directors. This film was a disappointment for me for the first time among all his other movies. He never had an absolute flop in his entire career. Most are super hits and a few are average. This being among the very few average ones even though Vikram went above and beyond to portray various characters in this movie. Definitely check out Director Shankar’s work. His other works include Robot, 2.0, Indian, Aparichit(Anniyan) and many more.
Singer of this song is ANIRUDH, who is the trendsetting music composer in Tamil. Vaathi Raid, Vaathi coming (Master) are his composing.
Songs in shankar direction, ARR music and Vairamuthu sir's lyrics. Even if you just read the lyrics you will love these songs, it has fun elements even in the lyrics ( but only in Tamil i have watched all these songs in other languages also they most of the time vary from the original)

Tbh the movie isn't bad. It's just that some people had really high expectations from the trailer which were basically action scenes and snippets from the songs for the most part. For eg. if you had watched Ennodu nee irundhaal and had gone to watch the movie after that, obviously you'd expect it to be something related to a beast and fantastic creatures. That's all😂👌👌✨✨

It is the same movie. This song is at the beginning of the film when Vikram was not introduced to the modern world of advertising. He lived in a village doing local advertising. So when Amy comes to that village she meets with Vikram and is taken with the ads that he does. So they revamp him to that handsome gorgeous man. And he then joins her to do those modern adverts.
You should definitely watch the movie. You will realize how much hardwork he has put insanely for his physical transformation. It's definitely one of the best ever.

Most of the songs in Indian movies shows the emotion in the immediate previous scene in the movie. The emotion behind this song is that he frist time seen her and got into love with her so this song shows that whatever he sees in his daily life he is finding her in everything he sees.

I think you will love songs from Boys (tamil movie) too. It's another Shankar movie with great visual, effects and as usual all songs are very different from each other. Music is by A R Rahman
All of Shankar's films directed by him have ladies in very creative costumes. He conceptualizes each song and his films are always the most sought when it releases. Kinda like the Christopher Nolan type of hype in India!
