Management of Polyhydramnios | Diagnosis, Complications & Management | Nursing Lecture

Polyhydramnios is defined as when the liquor amnii increases about 2000 ml, or when AFI is more than 25 c.m. & SDP is more than 8 c.m.
Diagnosis
1. Blood Test- Blood Glucose, ABO, Rh grouping
2. USG
3. Amniotic Fluid
Complications-
1. Premature rupture of membranes
2. Preterm Labour
3. Accidental hemorrhage
4. Cord prolapse
5. Fetal death
6. PPH & Shock
7. uterine inertia
Management-
It depends on the severity and weeks of gestation.

You mentioned that if fetal anomalies are detected, then termination of pregnancy is the best option. What about if someone is having twins; with one fetus having been seen to be anencephalic+ hydrops fetalis, and has limb deformities, but the other fetus is completely normal/ healthy? What does one do in this case?
