Hi the iphone 6 has IOS 12.5.5 . Please let me know what you recommend so that I can load the app and start using the Nano X. When it loads it just shuts down ? I reloaded it a couple of times and also reset my phone. Any thoughts ? Thanks
Hello, Thank you for your great vid. One quick question, if I’m not sure if the Ledger Nano X I’ve bought is brand new, how can I perform a Master Factory Reset to be sure? and if I can feel safe after performing a Master Factory Reset. Thank you again!
You can try but everything I know about the Ledger products (and what is stated on their website) so far is that tablets don't work with Ledger Live. I don't own a Windows tablet, so if it does work for you somehow, let me know!
Great video. I really appreciate your help. Can you tell me if my nano X is set up for Ledger Live on my windows desktop, if I can still use it on my iphone for an already installed Ledger live that I used with another nano X? I have two nano S's and one nano X. I had nano S (white) and nano X seed phrased together, and nano S (black) with different seed phrase. Nano S (Wh) was linked to Ledger live on laptop with half cryptos. Nano S (Bl) was linked to Ledger live on laptop with other half of cryptos. Nano X had same seed phrase as nano S (Wh), and also was used with iphone ledger live app. My nano X that was linked to iphone went bad and I got new one. Now I am confused. How do I update it? Why won't it connect to ledger live on iphone? I get message "Sorry, it looks like you have bluetooth disabled on your iphone." But it is not disabled anywhere. Maybe needs update but do not know how to update ledger live on iphone. Seeding these this way is screwy and I should not have done it, as I used the other seed phrase for the new nano X when I got it, instead of seed phrase it originally had and is now linked to nano S (wh) but still some of the cryptos on the mobile ledger live app still could have been connected. i can not connect to it. Any ideas, if you understand my question, and I did not mix you up entirely? Thanks if you can and appreciate it very much. I am just trying to get the nano X to connect to mobile ledger live and cannot, and maybe it is because it needs updated and I have no idea how to update it, as it says you have to update through the desktop. how would you do this with iphone and windows? If I go to manager on iphone ledger live, it says "select your device" Add new ledger nano X,
Ledger products do not work on iPads. If you have the Nano X, you MIGHT be able to utilize the BT feature and connect that way. At this time you have to use a laptop or a smart phone (if you don't use BT), but I could be proven wrong.
Quick question man , my ledger will it plug directly into my macbook? I thought it fit wasnt quite sure . But didnt try to set up yet didnt know if i needed usb adaptor
No. But... I personally ALWAYS have my Ledgers plugged in and I verify each address I send to before I send any cryptocurrencies. The last thing you want happening is that you send to the wrong address and your crypto is gone.
Do you know if you can have Leger Live on both iPad & iPhone at the same time, for one Nano X? Meaning, I could use one Nano X between both my iPhone and my iPad? The only issue I see it the cable is C for iPad and lightning for iPhone. I am concerned about hooking up to iPhone, the lady on the Crypto Tips channel said she does not recommend using phone for interacting with your cold wallet.
Hey Danny apologies for the late reply… no you can not. You could if you were on an Android. Last I heard was that Apple is gate-keeping the development of their lightning port utility. Ledger needs to find a way so that we all can update and transact JUST from our iPhones.
Nice video!!.. after watching hundred videos about ledger and trezor. I think I’ll go with ledger.. even though I like more the open source of trezor but I use all apple and i think trezor don’t support AOS.. What do you think about the Bluetooth transfer with ledger, do you considered safe?
@@taliav.5446 you're not the first person that has asked about the safety of the Bluetooth feature. I haven't done enough research on that aspect to give a definite answer... On the other hand, I work for a large insurance company who does not allow their employees to use computer equipment with BT for security concerns. Power supply? Do I loose my crypto if the nano x is not charged? IE battery dies? How long will battery last while storing crypto? How regularly does it need to be charged? Is my crypto safer on the exchange? Lots of questions! I’m just curious about loosing my assets.
Great questions... no you don't lose your crypto if the Nano X isn't charged. Ledger states that the battery lasts about 8hrs. Your crypto is safer in your own control, remember the saying "Not your keys, not your coins."
This was extremely helpful, as I don’t own an up to date computer. My Mac book is from 2009 and now cannot upgrade to the latest iOS so I don’t think I would be able to get this up and running on my computer. If I wanted to bring my ada across to the nano x and then stake it, could that also be done through my iPhone?
@@CryptoBlick hey , how exactly do I add apps on the nano x? I want to add quant and xdc which, are not on the list. Please do video showing how thanks
Is there a way to sell off your crypto on the ledger in a fast manner? For example, if I keep my assests on coinbase or any other exchange I have it ready to sell immediately. That is the only drawback I can think of using a ledger.
This is a great question! I personally haven't sold on Ledger but yes you can sell and buy on Ledger Live (their application for managing your Ledgers). I and many others use hardware wallets as long-term storage and not devices to sell/buy from. Hope that helps!
I have Bitcoin on Shakepay...is it pretty straight forward on how to get it off that exchange and on to the nano?(ios) Am I missing a piece of the puzzle?
Great question! I don't use Shakepay but I did find this article on their FAQ (help.shakepay.com/en/articles/2711769-how-to-send-crypto-to-an-external-wallet). It's very similar to sending crypto from Coinbase, Gemini, and other Exchanges to your hardware wallet (Nano X). Just make sure that you double and triple check the addresses to make sure that you're sending to the correct address!
Yes you can use both. I do as well. When you set up your Nano X like you did with your Nano S, you'll be able to see all your "accounts" on the home screen. Another great tip... you can sync your Ledger Live accounts on your desktop to your mobile Ledger Live app by going through the proper steps. That way if you want to check your investments on the go on your phone... you can.
Hi can i transfer all my tokens from binance, like Vet , ada , neo .... to the Nano X with out using any other or officials wallets ? (With my iphone) Btw thanks for the video its helps a lot.
Hey DonZec, glad the video was helpful. You can see the list of supported crypto assets here for Ledger (www.ledger.com/supported-crypto-assets). I don't use Binance yet, so I couldn't give you a direct answer on that. Are you able to send your different assets to other wallet addresses on Binance (you should be able to since it's a popular crypto Exchange).
So what if I have to send a token that is not YET supported by the NANO X but this new token is an ERC20 Token? Send it to the Etherium receiving address but will it show up?
Hello sir some silly questions do you have to eject the ledger from the computer if so how And will the ledger show a error message when confirming the 24 words thanks
Mostly yes. See my videos on setting up the Ledger Nano S. Big difference would be that the Nano S doesn't have Bluetooth and the storage size is much smaller on the Nano S.

What is the difference between the "segwit" and the "native segwit"? I just activated my ledger x and for me the "nano segwit" was listed first and it was also the one that was automatically checked. Yours was the opposite. Does matter which one I choose? Thanks
Great question Anthony! Here's what I added to my Nano S tutorial... "BTC Segwit vs Native Segwit - I should have pointed this out with more detail. @@CryptoBlick do fees apply when sending or receiving crypto? For example if I want to move my coins to my new ledger from an exchange do I get charged for that move? Or are these fees only when selling crypto? Thanks
@@CrescentClouds Great question! You will be charged a network fee to send/receive crypto. Usually, the fee percentage is very small (the percentage gets smaller for sending even larger amounts of crypto typically) unless you're trying to send over the ETH network right now... those fees are extremely high.
