    Doug that set over set was brutal for the other guy. I love playing suited gappers (but always in position). Nice river straight with p9. That game look pretty good. Nice read on AK, and stealing pots. I've been there many times playing with fatigue even though the games are good and sometimes with one card you go from black to red real quick. Keep running good!

      @@dougmccuskerpoker I usually play 4-6 hours win or lose. As long as your overall result is in the black, that's all that matters. Some of my friends if stuck can not get up from the table. I’m used to playing much longer session than you but ALWAYS step away if I’m feeling tired NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE GAME IS. I’m surprised you stuck around, especially as you normally do a lot of editing of your vlog each day. It’s remarkable you only lost half your stack especially with the 99 hand, even on your bad days you exceed what you might expect. Only shows you’re human. Best of luck next week and you still prevailed for the week.

    22: 18 is somewhat large, but I think it's ok from BU if you don't think SB or BB raise often.
    Last JJ hand: Love the bluff mechanically, extending it over the turn and river. Not sure how you discounted the Ax hands, but the river helped you there. He could have Ax but is afraid that you hit a flush, betting the draw on the turn and then jamming river flush.

    My lesson learned on long sessions. Now that I'm in my 70s, I still like my game until I get to 2-3 hours in. If I go longer, I start making stupid mistakes. After 2-3 hours, I try to get my butt out of the chair, especially if I'm ahead; otherwise my history shows that I'm probably going home losers.

    7:00 85o gets in a 3!bet pot...then calls a flop (3c45h) shove and jams with top pair 8 kicker () and then get bailed out in river. .
    That reminds me of a similar hand (Q4o) called my (AK) 3-bet PFR, and was calling all my strong bets on all streets...just to river the straight (AKJ6T), and clean my stack.
    Then, that individual, played as tight as it gets for the rest of the session. As if, he saw through the deck, was there only to clean my stack with that garbage hand, and then back off??? Usually, there is one person per table of that caliber. Go ahead, read their hands.

      Not that mad, bluffing a strong range was bad, but the check raise bluff balances my check raise range. If I always check raise with nutted hands, I will never get called. Unfortunately, he felt his hand was too good to fold. Other good players I spoke with really liked the play. My opponent just over valued one pair. 90% of the time I make that play, one pair is no good.

    What's a valid use for the limp reraise? It's always struck me as the play of a novice who thinks he's being clever while effectively turning his hand face up. Given that Doug does this, I'm now certain I'm losing value from entirely omiting this play from my toolbox.

    • @sethcoccia5150
      @sethcoccia5150 Місяць тому

      The only time I’ll ever limp re raise is in an extremely loose game. If I have super aggressive players to my left I will occasionally do it if I have a tighter image. A lot of time people will call 20 and then feel committed when 4 people call and I pop it to 135

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  Місяць тому +1

      Hyper aggressive games where your stack size is under 100bb. Your hand is face up, but those supper loose players don’t care. It’s not a play I do often.
