Watching both, Dakar and Africa Eco Race, I can't stop thinking that they should be one again. Dakkar was full of youth, energy and show off: wheelies, jumps and speed, but lacked in technicality as in navigation, changing land scape and, the least but not last, Africa, while the other was opposite: a lot of old guys, very prudent, very technical, but you can see that they would think twice before take a jump or do a wheelie, except Lyndon Poskitt and few other younger guys. Well, a fall when your 50 or older is definitely more painful and take longer to heal than you're 20 or 30. Anyway, I liked both races, what I miss in one I saw in the other, but I still believe that they should come back to Africa again, as one.
Well noted Calin, you are not so far away from truth! :-) Wheelies, big jumps and full throttles are what the top 20 (hyper pros) are doing because they are paid for and they put their life at risk, with a model "win or die" which is years light away from Paris-Dakar style, where navigation is king, as Africa Race, on the opposite, puts as a priority. The Dakar show is not interesting to me: MXGP si enough for these things: I want adventure, navigation, solitude, challenge. That's just a show for few crazy guys ready to die for massive salaries. Africa Race runs in a complitely different spirit, more suited to lovers of original Paris-Dakar format.
And if you take off the top 20, which grab 95% of TV show in Dakar, you'll see that also other 140 riders in Dakar ride with same style as those in Africa Race ;-)
@@schiussi I also liked Africa Race more, for the more "close to the roots" approach, which I would have loved that the top 20 of the Dakar should have taken or join the same race. Also, I think more screen space, including UA-cam space, should be given to the rest of the riders. Cheers.
Well, it lasts 14 days in a row (not 1 day), without any arrow to sign where to go, in the allover recognised as "hardest desert in the world" (Sahara). Honestly it's not exactly a "walk in the garden"...
For Africa Eco Race 2021 it would be great if the race and riders acknowledged that they were in Western Sahara. The race organisers did another great job of pretending that Western Sahara doesn't exist. By ignoring Western Sahara two things happen. One, the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara is normalised. Two, The race and racers wittingly, and unwittingly, give support to the Moroccan occupation. Who will stand up for the Sahrawi in 2021?

Viva baja!
I think you need to update the overall bike results
This means you watched till the end, thank you!! 💕
Why?
Lucci was using illegal tyres. Bad sportsman spirit from him.
Aku suka petualangan, tapi keadaan
Esa carrera no es nada para los que somos de la baja

Just a rip off of the official broadcasts 👎
Fully authorised and desired from Official broadcaster, with whom I collaborate.
