    I had to learn this the hard way after years of buying nicer bags, shoes and jewelry than my boss with a 7-figure salary, note mine was considerably less. I finally realized that having the potential to buy expensive things and not doing it gave me a bigger rush than just buying to impress. Now I spend when the difference really matters like on an Economy seat upgrade because flying at 6ft tall is no joke! But I will compensate by getting an economy car and pushing the seat all the way back and making breakfast and lunch and only splurging on dinner when travelling. It is a mindset that we all have to learn.

    Yep. Love driving my 2006 car with 352K miles on it through town while wearing a t shirt. Nobody looks twice at me. Just the way I want it.

    So true, I know plenty of people who live modestly but have a high income and an even higher net-worth. I know even more people who live above their means.

    The timing of this video for me (as in the day I commit to buying an exotic Italian motorcycle) is lovely

    I think a more accurate statement is "wealth is what you don't see minus what you do see". It's still possible to be poor if you look poor and to be rich if you look rich. However, I do agree that there are more "Millionaires Next Door" than people think. Bottom line is you don't really know what someone has (or doesn't have).

    I have heard the car analysis before, is it a common story in finance? I am pretty sure it is in the psychology of money. Is it just one of those common stories in finance?

    Ownership and Possessions are guaranteed loss. Stop spending everything you have to impress upon yourself your own self worth it's a death trap for your soul.

    Women choose the men they date based on that man’s social status, really hard to have social status without nice stuff, that’s the root of the problem we all face

    • @Profitglutton90
      @Profitglutton90 2 роки тому +4

      Yup. If I choose to start dating again I think I’d choose a girl from an economically disadvantaged background who knows the meaning of saving. Can’t really make any headway with modern gals who love to spend more than what you bring in on a monthly basis.

    • @DylanJo123
      @DylanJo123 2 роки тому +4

      Don't get with women that think like that, then

    • @future62
      @future62 2 роки тому +5

      Not all women choose men they date based on their social status, and social status isn't 100% determined by "having nice stuff". If you are OK financially and have some kind of social life + identity that's enough. You don't want to date women who chase dudes based on their stuff anyway.

    • @future62
      @future62 2 роки тому +4

      @@Profitglutton90 being poor doesn't mean you know how to save; in fact it's often the opposite. Man it is no wonder people are so confused about dating. There is so much misinformation and misunderstanding about basic human nature.
