5FEET GROUP do you really think they dont know how hard it is since all of them are already debuted idols who just didnt make it big? Many of them work their asses off and lose sleep because of practices on daily basis
Well just knowing it isn’t enough. I agree companies and luck plays a huge factor but Rain here is Just helping them because what’s the use of sulking after working hard. Life isn’t a bed of roses. Rain went through all of what they did and came out successful in the end. I’m saying it’s good he scolded because he cares and wants to let them know that the world is going to be harsh with them whether they broke their legs while practicing or not. Nobody is going to go easy on them because they worked hard. So a lil extra push wouldn’t hurt. It takes more than just hard work to be a hit. Look at Big Bang , Bts - they’ve all suffered maybe a lil more extra than most.
Some of them allready know...If I'm not mistaken than the members of A.C.E said during THE UNI+ that they really really do a lot more than they actually need to just to become better cause they are from an extremly small and unknowen company that is only mad out of one single room and they even have to clean the room themself and they often go on the streets to perform there... they do so so much (you can see that on their UA-cam-account) and I guess other people who went to THE UNI+ who allready was in hard working groups or still are in hard working groups they know it too how it is to work to get to sometinhg (even if it wasn't enough)
Like the others say I also think they already know but I think he wants them to know that it can be harder than they think it already is. Idk how to explain but he just wants to pull of the perfect perfect stage
I think all the negativity directed towards Rain in this comment section has to be made by people who’ve never had to perform on a stage in their life. Anybody who’s performed understands how important it is to have a teacher/coach/mentor who will believe in you so much that they will push you to go beyond what you thought were your limits. Rain’s words might be construed as harsh by some, but its exactly what most of us need when we want to succeed in being the best that we can be.
Yeah. He’s looking out at the competitioness out there in S Korea. The public’s attention. Their entertainment is so vast, this is their last chance. I know he meant well.
ShoMeSho absolutely right sometimes people feel bad about scolding but sometimes they see the results by themselves that how much it is effective and where they were wrong... and then they come to know that there little mistake can be very dangerous
True my teacher would scream at us to get us to do our choreo right but in the end he just wants us to do well and not embarrass ourselves on stage and when we done well he would treat us to pizza:)
I think that he opens doors for them. Why can't we listen to a person who has done a lot in the industry. Besides, why we take everything so negatively. You can get scolded and advised. It is part of learning and living process. Chill out!!!
And they say Exo Lay has become, from a gentle sheep to super strict judge in produce 101 China. Anyone who trains people will change personality. No hate to Rain, he's a legend
not everyone becomes beeing harder when they train someone... in my homecountry Germany is a program where they search every year for a new someone to win that thing and one of the people who had to judge is originaly from ireland, but lives in Germany since many years and I don't follow that show but once I tried to watch it and saw how lame he talked to the people he had in his group... that was so boring and at the end of that episode 2 of the 6 people he had iin his group made a lot mistakes on stage...
There is no one like Rain. Everything I know about K-pop is just because of Rain and thanks to him I could also see The Unit perform live at KBS. What a teacher he is to them!
Talent +hard work + stage presence makes a traniee into a successful artist. One thing lacking and you lag behind. I can still see rains stage presence standing out the most ..
1. Rain is K pop legend.. Bfore ur k pop idols , Rain is it !!! He ws most influential k pop artist who faved the way for k pop to be recognized in the world. He ws more popular than presidnt of US at one point . 2. He is a brand of his own. K-pop industry is very brutal ,it's a cut throat competition among the idols. Rain is reminding them the reality of the industry to the trainees. They are indeed lucky to get advice from him.
Dance and singing industry is cutthroat. Rain just gave them a reminder and a glimpse of it because he knows they're good and wants the to let it shine out through them. Totally respect him for that. He wasn't hiding behind the camera. He gave them a reality check
If you think Rain is harsh then remember YG and all other agencies. They are a million times way harsher than Rain will ever be. LOL Imagine what this trainees have to go through in those agencies. Getting shouted, scolded and made to practice all day. Rain is actually pretty nice. I'll be way harsher if it was me. Those commenting that he is harsh is probably little kids who knows nothing in the real world. In every field wherever you work, your superiors will scold you if you make mistakes. You even get punish or get your pay deducted. That's life. You gotta work hard.
and to add to that, there are companies that have tightened a guitar string around a member's neck if they did something wrong or didn't listen. these members were UNDER 18 and came home with a new set of bruises every night. so the people in comments have no right to be calling Rain harsh when all he did was yell, i can't remember the name of the companies but still.
You could directly tell that Rain is a really good mentor. He pushes them to their limit so they can evolve and be their best. Its what a good teacher does
I believe in what Rain does with his trainees. If it's always calm & sweet, they won't give their best in their performance. To be a legend, a little scolding is a must. I’m a 2nd generation kpop fan And been watching them ever since 2008 and I’ve to admit that this 3rd generation of kpop has it much easier than 2nd. no doubt that Rain is the father of Kpop, if you dont want to tag him as the King tho, ive been his fan since i've heard his songs way back High School, his song "Im Coming" made a dance craze and make us crazy for 3 years i think lol.
He is right. They need to work hard on their charms and show what they have on stage and just at ANY moment. I guess someone like Rain had to wake them up. There is a reason why some people make it and others don't. Whether it be how you get into bigger companies or how you grow as a group with a smaller company. A pretty or handsome face isn't enough. There needs to be something more. Words like that are no rarity.
Vertios More even now. Like the idols that debut they have pretty decent voices. And they know how to show they charm on tv. So the idol area is pretty competitive now. They dont give a f&@€ anymore they can diss you there and eat tou alive. The fan are getting pretty hard later.
To be a celebrity, singer, performer, etc. there is no break, you keep going and have to always be a step ahead. Everyone looks at you, and if you don’t keep it new you go down
Rain's the only one who can make a simple dance look soooooo fuckin sexy... you don't need extreme choreo to entice audiences... only slick moves and precise choreo is needed...🤗
Rain is spectacular, he dances so cute and sensual. Lovely. I admire him is very professional. Sunshine's performance is beautiful. And the guys did great
甘い sel yeah...They were already debuted and yet have to survive on 'THE UNIT' like a trainee...... hell ya..life as a kpop idol are not that sweet and heaven...
Hes been on stage 1000 times and he still practice when he gets home. I heard that in one of kpop group one song they practice 1000 times thats how hard they work to perfection
Rain is a real mentor he is not fake person. He is profesional and he knows what is the best for the trainee. I really likes him. I know he wants his trainee to be the best if they allowed themself to be molded by Rain
Wow! Rain still hasn't lost his touch and never will! (Duh!) And they all did a pretty good job! Loved the performance and also I think and hope their hard work paid off
I love RAIN. He is giving them scolding because he actually wants them to achieve there dreams. He actually hasn't said anything. He tried his best to not to hurt them
Only now I truly know RAIN, he is very precise and no imperfection. Is he the Michael Jackson or Usher of Korea? I'm loving him more so honest yet gentle.
If rain was the one training me and he yelled at me for that i wouldnt be pissed instead id be happy and thankful for his honest judgement bc if u are gonna train someone u need to be honest and harsh if u need to he just wants his students to be better and he wants them to open their eyes and realize how much harder they have to work to be able to use their talents to its full potential
Jiwon unnie is really good. The way she lead her team until they perform and now win 1st place with collaboration in their mentor Rain. Nice Good job unnie. Keep it up^
A strict teacher is a gift from god. Rain is angry because he cares!!!!! Rain did not humiliate anyone, he simply stated the truth. His responsibility is to make the best out of them, and he takes that job seriously.
THE ONE AND ONLY RAIN... RESPECT THE LEGEND'S HARDWORK AND DEDICATION TO COACH/TEACH/MENTOR YOUNG GENERATION OF KPOP. FOCUS AND PRACTICE TO PERFECTION❤️
looking back it’s sad that the unit didn’t get enough attention because it achieved what mixnine failed to do and actually debuted both girls team and boys team. 2017/2018 was a big year for survival shows and the public’s attention was undoubtedly divided and produce 101 was the most popular among them. i still love uni.t so much, “i mean” was so soty material 🐴
Rain I can see how much potential u find with the trainee..... And you know how hard it is to reach the top. If anyone find it harsh they are worng he just breaking their bubble to break and show the reality of life. Great job....
at first I was like: "Why the fuck do they include this song" as the first one came and than I thought they would show the traines dancing to it later, but nope they just played a second song after that... but I'm very happy that Jun made it in the winner team
point is. he is training them to give their all to everything they do. he is giving them the drive to stay hungry for it. if they really want to succeed then they should have a hunger for success and use that hunger as motivation and drive to do their very best at everything they do.4
Respect Rain. He has it tough as a mentor. He has to be hard on the trainees, in part because he's a perfectionist and, to drill in the harsh reality of maintaining stardom. Remember, these were once idols. They are looking for that 2nd chance and break. I like The Uni+ :)
He isn't just a good teacher he is amazing. He us willing to. Share his. Passion with them. When a great performer scolded. Anyone doesn't mean he is heartless but. These guys are lucky. To get a chanced. Performing with rain. He is the best. Actor writer. Dancer and singer. Am sure. These guys so proud of being on stage performing with rain
I am Korean and I've seen him when I was middle school.. I think nowadays rain is much better than before, of course he was good when I was middle school too. I am dancing his dance for myself and supposed to dance and sing his song in front of people in American university...He is a living legend..
Rain is Right. To become a star you need to work hard, learn more and focus. Not only to do ur best but trust ur self that u can do more if you push ur self to learn more..
I think rain is the best,he guided his trainees well,,,,,,,,,he scolded them but he did not say anything wrong, that word is to cheer them up and made them realize how's life in that industry is.........
I felt that scolding before.... my japanese teacher always shouts me out. when we were practicing my dance he always says “your doing it wrong”the teacher just wants the crowd to be proud of us. They just push us further to the finish line. Don’t be serious about it.
Being good is not enough.. Just okay isnt ok...when you go up that stage you have to perform as if its your last standing on that stage. I think that is what Rain wanted to tell those trainees.. It is not harsh it is the reality... Being an idol is a tough competition if you can upgrade your game then you will lose... Having a talent is not enough... patience, hard work and everything comprises an idol.. doing your best in everything will save you from regrets later on...
Seriously...Rain is a good trainer. He did that because he want the best for all of them. Respect the legend guys, legend are human too. #peacenowar🤙
Rain sshiii I am intimidated by you through screen.all choreographares are like this I have experienced
I know I'm quite off topic but does anyone know of a good place to watch new movies online?
@Orion Franklin I use Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
@Armando Weston Yup, I've been watching on Flixzone for since april myself =)
@Armando Weston thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I appreciate it !!
I like how real he was with the trainees. He sees their potential and he just wants them to do well.
gbritaneyviolin they're not really trainee eheh
give kpop fans sub please but in this competition they’re pretty much back to being trainees until the show ends
these rookies got nothing on MBLAQ...the way Rain trained MBLAQ were x100 harder than this

That's why Rain is legend 🏆

well worth all the hard work. Really enjoyed watching. And I am 62 years old. Great stuff Rain and Gang all the way from NZ
honestly I don't think Rain was harsh, he just shouted at them to remind them of the reality of an idol's life.
That is what we called a real mentor. He teaches them to be responsible in their own act. And perform at their best with spontaneous practice.

솔까말 이게 뮤비보다 더 멋지네 ㅋㅋ
looking back it’s sad that the unit didn’t get enough attention because it achieved what mixnine failed to do and actually debuted both girls team and boys team. 2017/2018 was a big year for survival shows and the public’s attention was undoubtedly divided and produce 101 was the most popular among them. i still love uni.t so much, “i mean” was so soty material 🐴
Thats reason why rain is legend, bcs hes the real of world star and good trainer❤
I think Rain, has an amazing talent. The great mentor, and dancer 🕺.. I love him..
He is such a good teacher and what a great stage 😭💔💔❤
I should not have seen him first in How do you play. Now my mind can't understand how these images of him can fit in the same spot.
He was doing it right.. he has been there for so long..
Rain is rain and I do still a big fan of him started from my elem years. 😁 well from the commercial
"My name is rain"
Jiwon is so pretty 😍 🔥

You never change Rain.your still the best...I always love 💟💟💟 you
I miss The Unit, everyone ♡
Rain I can see how much potential u find with the trainee..... And you know how hard it is to reach the top. If anyone find it harsh they are worng he just breaking their bubble to break and show the reality of life. Great job....
What the fuck Rain!!😂😂 He made the Unit trainee as his back up dancers 😂😂😂
dafuq you talking? They're filming each face close up and during the second stage they even have the chance to sing
Its a gokden oppotunity to perform with a legend as rain so please be realistic
at first I was like: "Why the fuck do they include this song" as the first one came and than I thought they would show the traines dancing to it later, but nope they just played a second song after that... but I'm very happy that Jun made it in the winner team
point is. he is training them to give their all to everything they do. he is giving them the drive to stay hungry for it. if they really want to succeed then they should have a hunger for success and use that hunger as motivation and drive to do their very best at everything they do.4
besides even pre- debut idols that are now famous started off appearing in music videos as back up dancers or just having an appearance
Since FULL HOUSE and then The ASSASSINS...i do love him much, even my youngest brother imitate RAIN,,😍😍😍
Respect Rain. He has it tough as a mentor. He has to be hard on the trainees, in part because he's a perfectionist and, to drill in the harsh reality of maintaining stardom. Remember, these were once idols. They are looking for that 2nd chance and break.
I like The Uni+ :)
I Love to hear RAIN talk I just love his voice,at all times I LOVE HIM SO MUCH,SO PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE I CAN HELP OTHER THANK YOU SO MUCH
He has worked hard to achieve his goals. I wish I had someone to push me to do the best I could. Great video and a geat person Rain is..
Rain is on another level when it comes to talent. damn
Practice makes perfect 👌🏽..... I’m a perfectionist and how you look in practice is also how you look on stage
Give me a reason why Yang Jiwon wasn't popular before. I don't understand, She is a gem!!!
No luck
Rains' smile, dance, voice, body EVERYTHING PERFECT LIKE I CAN'T STOP SCREAMING
If there was no Rain, there’d be no Taemin. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Rain’s dance is so real as he is telling a story.... so lively 😘😘😘😘
Rain voice is so deep💕
rain is known as world star...and everyone know that everything he do he will give the best...and they need to give him the best too....
Wow. The first word I thought when I saw this performance. Amazing.
They are all talented but legends just stand out ! Maybe one of these trainees can be a legend to future Koop fans
Sunshine performance was so cute, love it
He isn't just a good teacher he is amazing. He us willing to. Share his. Passion with them. When a great performer scolded. Anyone doesn't mean he is heartless but. These guys are lucky. To get a chanced. Performing with rain. He is the best. Actor writer. Dancer and singer. Am sure. These guys so proud of being on stage performing with rain
Everyone is commenting and defending rain but in reality I only see about one hate comment and like 100 people defending him 😂
If you keep scrolling down you'll see some shady comments tho.
I am Korean and I've seen him when I was middle school.. I think nowadays rain is much better than before, of course he was good when I was middle school too. I am dancing his dance for myself and supposed to dance and sing his song in front of people in American university...He is a living legend..
Man, i wish to be trained by Rain. It is so important to have a good mentor. Then, maybe i could continue my passion.
Rain is Right.
To become a star you need to work hard, learn more and focus. Not only to do ur best but trust ur self that u can do more if you push ur self to learn more..
Thats not unexpected. Its rain. His passion is crazy high. He was the top and getting there was no easy feat
Rain is truly a good mentor trainer great dancer singer.....,He is right about how they should give their best!!!
It's interesting, what Rain says. And I'm glad he did this joint performance.
I think rain is the best,he guided his trainees well,,,,,,,,,he scolded them but he did not say anything wrong, that word is to cheer them up and made them realize how's life in that industry is.........
Rain is very perfect 👏👏❤️
Oh I missed seeing Rain performing! He still has it as alwayz...
Rain is a strict but good and effective mentor even tho I would start crying on spot.
Rain very good singer 👍👏👏👏😚😚😚🤗
I love this performance 😭
He is amazing dancer n singer
I'm so happy to see jiwon here.
