    Just a correction...if it steals sales from Korean rivals it's not "cannibalising" sales, as that would mean taking them from within its own stable ie taking buyers away from its own cars within other Skoda ranges.

    An excellent and well balanced review. Other motoring journalists should take note. For me, this is a non-starter, as a city focussed SUV needs a gearbox that works well in the low speed stop start environment of urban driving, a DSG is ill suited to this task and especially if you crawl in traffic where you end up slipping the clutches. Also, this car is equipped with the infamous DQ200 dry clutch DSG. For me, I'd buy a Karoq or a VW T-Roc with the excellent Aisin 8 speed torque converter auto and the punchier 1.4 turbo engine... yes it costs a bit more but it is worth it and is still good value compared to the Japanese or Korean alternatives.

      I drive this in the city every day. It's fine. It would be better if it was more linear in acceleration, but it's fine. Just need to go easy on first acceleration or you'll have the wheel spin
      It's excellent in traffic thanks to Travel Assist

      @@PH-kl5qq Glad you are happy with yours. I drove a T-Cross and did not like it especially that you had to adopt a stop start approach in crawling traffic, creeping in traffic is a sure fire way to dramatically shorten the life of the gearbox.

    Why last letter on Škoda brand Is Q? Like Kodiaq Kamiq Enyaq?

      It's simply a theme they've chosen for their SUV range

    Motoring journalists always give Skoda's a great review, but they should try owning one. I've driven many VW products in recent years but decided to try a Skoda after experiencing very poor after sales service with VW. What a huge mistake. Took delivery with 3 faults and it took about 3 months and 5 visits to resolve. The car is a 2023 model and I've already had another 2 faults needing attention. To say that Skoda's after sales service is shocking is an understatement. I now understand why Skoda's market share is so low. Purchase a Skoda at your own peril. I think China is going to eat Skoda's lunch in the very near future.

    The Monte Carlo version is daylight robbery as the Octavia Sportline is the same price...

      Unless ofc the Octavia is way too big for you, you don't have a family and don't need a 600+ litre boot but you'd like a quality compact crossover and are happy to spend mid-forties on a top spec one?

      I love the Kamiq and am tempted by the Monte Carlo but then I see the larger VW T-Roc for 37K (on special) and the value of the Kamiq is eroded even though it has more features.

      @@MLife1972 very closely related and you'd probably be happy with either one, just depends on your budget and preferences especially 5yr v 7yr warranty and standard equipment specs on each

      @@MLife1972 T-Roc is slightly wider but Kamiq is bigger inside and with the seats down has a larger cargo area.

    If you are considering buying a Kamiq ensure that the Automatic locking system has an override facility if not its a potential deathtrap

      Bro, can you explain more? I am looking for buying a Kamiq. What do you mean by saying override?

    • @daveview1743
      @daveview1743 5 днів тому

      @zeinalovblog Hi .The Kamiq earlier models had an override of the Automatic Locking System on the computer but my new model didn't hence it continually locked at 15klm and meant the driver had to manually press the button on the dash to unlock the car . Skoda says it was a safety feature but put a note in the handbook as a warning. I fought with Skoda for 6 months then they finally created a programme to download to the car and I now can override this if I wish which is brilliant. My garage (Winchester Motor Company) where useless and didn't want to know .

    No form of electrification is a disappointment? When it already uses only around 6L/100kms and electrification would easily add $5k to the price?! Come on. Silly comment.

      Agreed, my 110TSI only consumes 4.8L/100km on long trips so definitely not needed. Toyota seem to be the only ones who can add hybrid for a low premium. Everyone else seems to charge at least $4k extra.
